Chapter 2 Lexi's back,

it's been 2 weeks since lexi was resurrected and she's loving it. She turned on the music and dancing and jumping around and drinking the bourbon. Just then damon stopped and leaned against the wall, just watching her and this time he was actually enjoyed the show. "Lurking is creepy damon FYI" lexi said as she stopped dancing and turned around to face him. "Well I was just admiring the view" damon said, with his usual charming smirk.

She turns off the music and then put down her glass of bourbon. "So are you ready get started getting over elena"? Lexi said with excitement in her voice. "Damn straight I am" damon replied, with anticipation. " good but you should know I've never done this before so be warned I might be a little rusty" Lexi said, with a luck of uncomfortabilty. " Not a problem working progress for both of us" demon replied, with his usual charming smirk.

Lexi could not help but chuckle, she may not have liked him much but she had to admit that he was charming. "OK first step evaluation of self and reason for your feelings for her" lexi said, as she led damon into the sitting room. "OK sit down" lexi said, as she kindly urged him to sit on the couch. So he did as asked and then she sat in one of the chairs across from him. "OK now I want you to tell me, what you feel what really feel about yourself and about elena" lexi said, in a calm and caring way.

Damon deciding not to argue or be his usual obnoxious self, he let it out. "I hate myself lex I hate what I am I hate what I've done". Damon said, feeling self anger and self hatred. "OK now that you admitted that now you can make peace with it you just have to let it go and forgive yourself" lexi said, with compassion in her voice. "Make it easy for yourself forgive yourself for elena" lexi said with a smile.

So he got up and went over to the fireplace and then dropped to his knees. "I say these words I am going to forgive myself for elena" lexi said in a guiding way. "I am going to forgive myself for elena" damon said, with a proud look on his face. "Good now keep telling yourself that every day until it sinks in" lexi said in a caring way. "Now tell me how you feel about elena" lexi said, in a warm caring way.

"I love her because she's not selfish she's not cruel or sadistic, she is kind and caring and loving, she loves people she loves to help people, and wants to save them, and she wants to do the right thing all the time, and she makes me want to do all that and be a better man" damon said, with a pained look on his face. Lexi paused for a moment.

"OK now you have to acknowledge elena's flaws and then accept them and then let her go" lexi said, with a smile. "She only really has one, she has to big of a heart she tries to see good where there isn't any and gets her into dangerous situations" damon said, looking into the fire feeling despair. "But I have to accept that that's who she is so kind and caring and pure" damon continues, feeling more despair.

Lexi took a moment to soak in his words. "Now you can let her go feel the weight of your love leave your heart feel the freeing feeling" lexi said, as she came up behind him and put her hand on his shoulder. In that moment he began the process of letting elena go. "You've taken the first step to turning your life around but we have still have far to go" lexi said as she slowly turned him around to face her and then gazed deep into his eyes.

"Lead the way" damon said, with a humble tone. "Step 2 facing your situation head on confess your feelings to elena and admit your pain to your brother" lexi said as she stepped back. "Elena I love you so much that I can't think about anything else and stefan seeing you with her kills makes me want to die makes want to rip you apart" damon said, feeling both rage and pain.

Now at that moment damon is one step closer to getting over elena.
