Randy had backed off about wanting to get back with Drusilla. He knew she needed support right now, not pressure. For the last month they'd had long talks into the night. Randy was hoping to be cleared early. His recovery was ahead of schedule. He was just waiting on a final check-up. Drusilla had requested a transfer to another hospital. There were currently no openings at any of the surrounding hospitals. She did her best to avoid Jordan at all costs. It was around midnight. Lisa was spending the night with Randy. He and Drusilla were both in their beds talking to each other on the phone.
"I've been thinking a lot." Drusilla said.
"About what?" Randy asked.
"About taking a transfer out of state if they offer me one."
"What?" Randy said surprised. "You love it in Chicago."
"I know."
"You wouldn't even move in with me when we were engaged."
"I know but I'd like a change of scenery." "A fresh start."
"Where would you want to go?"
"I'm not sure." "What time is your doctor's appointment tomorrow?"
"Ten."
"I'll be there by seven to pick her up."
"Ok."
"I hope you get some good news." "I know how much you miss wrestling."
"I do but I've loved the extra time with Lisa."
"I know." "I'm going to bed." "See you tomorrow."
"Bye."
"Bye."
At around noon the next day Drusilla was at home. Lisa was napping. There was a knock at the door. Drusilla answered it. Randy was standing there looking happy.
"I got cleared." He said happily.
"That's great."
"I just have to wait for the official call now."
"Do you want to come in?"
"Yeah." He went inside. "Is Lisa napping?"
"Yeah." They sat down on the couch. "I'm glad you're here." "I've been wanting to talk to you." "I've really appreciated you comforting and being there for me lately."
"I know you've needed someone to talk to."
"Yeah." "It's really sweet." "I've been thinking, if you still want to get back together, I can make us dinner tomorrow night after work and we can talk about it." "I can't promise anything."
Randy smiled. "Ok."
The next morning Drusilla was called into the Human Resources off.
"We have a transfer available for you." The man behind the desk said. "You would have to relocate."
"Where to?"
"St. Louis, Missouri."
