[VX-102-A]

Characteristics:

Modeled after: GAT-X105+AQM/E-X01 Tall Strike Gundam Glitter [Please refer to attached image on the upper-left screen for more detailed imagery]

Height: 17.7 Meters.

Weight: 92.5 Metric tons.

Power-plant: Type-2 Ultracompact Cold Fusion Reactor.

Power output: 3625 Kw.

Sensor range: 76000 Meters.

Armor: Reinforced Deux Alloy applied with anti-beam coating.

Role(s): Reconnaissance, Marksman, Commerce Raider.

Operating System: Quantum Artificial Intelligence Unit.

Armaments & Equipment:

- 60mm Close-In Weapon System (CIWS)

Mounted on each side of the head, the CIWS System uses 60mm cannon rounds to destroy light vehicles, suppress enemy infantry, or destroy oncoming missiles.

- DC-4 Beam Saber

The unit carries two beam sabers, used when enemies enter close-range combat with 102-A.

- Support Auxiliary Drones (Glimmering Glitter Revs)

Attached to each shoulder pad of the Mobile Suit are deployable autonomous drones used for reconnaissance or to provide assistance during battle, both are powered by an internal battery unit able to be recharged using the Type-2 Reactor while docked with 102-A. The main armament for both of the drones is a beam cannon, supplemented by a hidden weapon bay door on the underbelly loaded with multi-purpose missiles.

- VTX-3 Nano-machines

Expected to fulfill the role of a heavy reconnaissance unit, VX-102-A is predicted to be unable to resupply with a friendly supply ship during long periods of operation, thus nano-machines are kept in two storage units inside the upper torso of the Machine. Allowing 102-A to replenish conventional munitions or build basic structures at the AI's discretion by absorbing biological material from the environment, the nano-machines are deployed via a small access hatch on the backside.

- Striker Booster Pack

The Booster Pack are multiple back-mounted engines which gives the 102-A flight capability and increased maneuverability. Using it, the unit can fly in an atmospheric environment for long periods of time, also capable of escaping an atmosphere without the aid of another transport or disposable booster attachments.

- M11 Beam Pistol

Holstered in two compartments of the unit's legs are deployable beam pistols, used in short-range engagements and as a backup in case its main weapon is too cumbersome during certain situations.

- P-1KZ Warship-type Sniper Rifle

The main weapon for the 102-A is a miniaturized version of a Trafalgar-Class Battleship cannon modeled after GN-006 Cherudim's Sniper Rifle with attached telescopic sight. The weapon does not suffer from power output loss due to miniaturization unlike previous prototypes, the weapon's beam is able to penetrate Deux Alloy in two shots from far distances. With an effective range of 30500 meters after test trials of the weapon in multiple scenarios, when not in use the rifle's barrel is folded for ease of storage and holstered in the rear-torso using a claw arm.

Burst Mode

A one-off attack, the Beam Rifle can expend all of its power in a single shot to destroy targets within a large radius before needing to recharge.

Railgun Mode

the 102-A is able to carry armor-piercing or high-explosive shells in situations where Projectile ammunition is sometimes needed to defeat enemy armor. The bullets are pushed out the barrel using an already installed system similar to a railgun, making it easy to transition from firing beam lasers to kinetic ammunition.

- Aegis Electronic-Warfare Combat System

Mounted inside the torso, the AEWCS is a 4-in-1 system. Improving the machine's reaction time and acting as an integrated CIC for the drones, the system was one of the most advanced at the time of 102-A's creation.

- Countermeasures/Chaff Discharger

Canister ports around the Mobile Suit are able to launch anti-beam countermeasures or smoke grenades during situations requiring these utilities.

Special Equipment:

- Doppelgänger/Active Camouflage System

Using complex light manipulation sensors all over its body, it can turn invisible while either directly or indirectly observed. As the name implies, the 102-A can also mimic the appearance of a different unit model, with only detection systems above the unit's own AEWCS being able see through the deception. The drawback to this system however is its inability to use armaments in either modes, if it does use an armament then a 'shattered mirror' event will occur where the active camouflage/mimic will shatter, revealing the unit's true appearance to the enemy, this also occurs when projectiles make contact with its body surface.

- High-Optical Magnification Targeting Camera

Mounted on the forehead of the Mobile Suit protected by heavily-reinforced bulletproof glass, the Camera is able to identify targets visually alongside indirect sensors at long ranges, allowing 102-A to destroy targets with high precision outside effective enemy range.

Addendum (1): Technical Design.

VX-102-A, as detailed from the unit's specification list. Is modeled after GAT-X105+AQM/E-X01, or "Tall Strike Gundam Glitter" as it is called. A rather blatant copy of the original. The Tall Strike was selected for development due to its rather unique design, possessing full-fledged drones instead of funnels, because the objective of this project is to create a Mobile Suit capable of operating for long stretches of time without resupply while able to inflict damage to the enemy as much as possible, the Tall Strike can be readily modified if needed and have equipment or armament installed to fit this purpose . - A-4.

Addendum (2): Assembly.

Construction of VX-102-A is proceeding as planned, the equipment I have requisitioned from the Research Department and Space branch of the military will arrive in the coming months. The sensitive equipment I intend to install into the unit will need delicate handling, as such I'll have to find a way to streamline the process of manufacturing If they'd consider producing this in limited numbers within a reasonable timeframe. - A-4.

Addendum (3):Delivery Issues.

The arrival of parts and materials for the unit has encountered some unexpected 'delays' especially for the Type-2 Reactor. Since I have limited options in acquiring more resources because of the nature and secrecy of this project, I have no choice but to be patient, not even the Intelligence Department is aware of this undertaking I am currently working on. - A-4.

Addendum (4): Indoor Testing.

We have moved on to testing the internal systems and motor functions of the unit after fully assembling it, utilizing the slave mode system to better monitor its movements during tests and record data more effectively. It will take more months to make it combat-worthy for the field tests. - A-4.

Addendum (5): Quantum AI installment.

There is an irony here of creating sentient machines. I have programmed the AI unit which will be the 'brain' of VX-102-A to be loyal to our military, yet I cannot help but think that if one day we create an AI smart enough to be like us but is forced to be loyal, will civil war break out between those who want freedom from our control and those still loyal to us? Whatever the case, the Quantum AI would be much more superior than any existing models installed in frontline service. - A-4.

Addendum (5): Final Preparations.

Final preparations are being completed before we proceed to the practical test runs on the capabilities of the Mobile Suit, however -3 has begun to ask questions of my whereabouts since I have been away from the Defense Ministry for long periods of time for the past few years. It humors me that we still maintained our human emotions in a non-interference capacity after all this, but in any case, this shows the beginning of my colleagues becoming suspicious of me and my activity. - A-4.

Addendum (6): Field Trials.

Test trials will be done around the planet and in zero-gravity, I am keen to see VX-102-A perform well in realistic situations, I have devoted the last half decade to this project alone. - A-4.

Addendum (7): Result of the Project.

VX-102-A has passed all combat scenarios and simulations with excellent grades. I expect at least a squadron of its type would be produced by the time I introduce it as a contender for the MSAR Project, though they might want to remove certain systems deem 'unnecessary' which I understand. I hope they would see the benefits of these new systems the R&D Department are still testing which I have successfully fielded, I fear the backlash this project would stir if it ends in disaster. - A-4.

Addendum (8): Disappearance.

-4, you know how pissed off -2 and -5 can get if you steal technology, not to mention resources from them. Though I must applaud your acceptance of responsibility, this little project of yours has not only been detrimental to joint-development, but also the fact we have lost a technologically-advanced war machine that our current or future rivals can get their hands on. I expect you to be present at the meeting we all agreed to hold tomorrow to discuss your failure. - A-3.

Addendum (9): Reassignment.

Despite your past records of similar incidents, it was amicable of you to hand over all technical data retaining to VX-102-A during the meeting. As such, we have decided you will work alongside -2 to develop a streamlined and mass-produceable unit of the VX-line to replace the older models. Personally I would berate you for your mishandling of a very sensitive asset, not to mention the experimental technology that should've been kept under heavy security is now somewhere in deep space just waiting to be claimed by future adversaries. But that would be a future problem, hopefully something we can counter after developing better technological advancements. - Head Administration Office to A-4.

Addendum (10): Untitled.

There's something I neglected to tell, it's urgent. - A-4.
