Addison currently sat on her bed, books scattered around her as she read a book currently in her hands. Her ears on alert, listening to any sound that came from outside, her eyes straying towards the windows before coming back to the text she was reading.
Not even a minute later, she hears three consecutive taps - their little signal, her and Zed's - on her window, a smile on her face as she puts away the rest of the unread books on her study desk.
She could deal with those later, she thinks
She opens the window and her blue eyes meet his brown ones, both are silent for a while until she laughs to break off the stupor
"C'mon handsome, are you coming in or am I just going to leave you out in the dark and enjoy the attention you're giving me?" she asks with a teasing smile
"As much as I'd love to stare, I think I'd rather be inside before I get caught" he tells her with a chuckle and she moves aside to let him in and he climbs up, a smile on his lips.
"Milady" Zed bows before her when she turns to him after closing her window and curtain blinds. She rolls her eyes at him - a playful gesture, he knows- while a smile forms on her lips
She thinks he's cute, she can't help it, as long as Zed was around her, she was sure the smiles would keep coming naturally
"Hey there Zed" she smiles up at him and he glances around her room, spotting the stack of books on her desk
"Looks like you've been busy gorgeous, I see tons of books for lit class over there. Did I come over at the wrong time?" he asks with furrowed brows but she can tell that he's not mad, in fact he's just worried he might be distracting her from her studies
He tilts his head at her, waiting for her explanation
"Oh no, uh those were - I was just reading in advance you know? You came just at the right time Zed, no need to fret" she explains, and almost sighs in relief as Zed smiles at her
"So, now that I'm here, what do you need? A recharge?" he asks her with a suave tone, his eyebrows raising up and down playfully that she can't help but laugh
a little too loud...
"Ssshhh Addy you gotta keep it down, we can't risk being caught by your parents" he tells her in a shushed voice, his ears straining to hear any hushed conversations outside her bedroom door or any incoming footsteps
"Oops, sorry there. But, I would like to take up that offer for a recharge. Today's been very tiring and I think a hug would be good for me" she smiles
"Anything for you gorgeous" he tells her, his arms open in a gesture for her to come close and she does, excitedly.
Her arms wrap around his torso, her ear pressed to his chest and she swears she can hear a faint heart beating.
His arms wrap around her automatically in response, his chin resting atop her head, the weight she didn't mind, in fact she was more than happy with the gesture.
Their tiny bubble gets broken when she yawns, "I think you're sleepy, I should get going Addy" he tells her and she shakes her head no
"Stay with me for a few more moments please?" she asks him, staring up at him and he dramatically sighs,
"The things I do for you gorgeous" he says and she laughs, her feet moving forward, forcing him to take a few steps back. The back of his knee hit her bed and with her pushing him, the two of them crash into it.
Her giggles muffled against his chest. She snuggles further into him, her chin now resting on his shoulder and her legs woven with his. He traces calming circular patterns on her back, listening to her breathe in and out, basking in her presence.
He lets her be and talks to her about football, at first her responses were enthusiastic but as the conversation progressed further she responded with 'mhmms' and nods against his shoulder. Soon enough, he got no responses and when he looked over, he's met with a sleeping Addison.
"Addy" he softly whispers, shaking her shoulder gently but she doesn't respond
"Addison"he tries, this time sitting up at the fifth call of her name without getting any response. He carefully unwraps his arms around her but she doesn't budge, her arms tightening her hold on him.
"Addy I need you to wake up gorgeous"
"Not a chance" she responds and he snorts, laughter following
"But - "
"No" she simply says, eyes flying open to look at him
"Stay for me please?" she tells him, her chin resting on his chest as she looks up at him with her best impression of puppy eyes
"Oh come on, not the eyes Addy. You know very well that I can't say no to that" he whines and tries to put her down in bed, her back on the bed but she refused to let him go just yet.
"Exactly. Pleeeeaseee?" she tries again, this time bringing out the big guns, she pouts at him.
She knows she's won when she hears his sigh of defeat and he lets his body hover over hers in bed.
"You're very lucky that you're cute, but that's just a plus. Of course I'll stay for you gorgeous, as long as you want me to" he tucks a strand of her white hair behind her ear, his eyes meeting hers and she smiles up at him, content and in love.
"Charmer" she crinkles her nose at him and he laughs, his forehead on her shoulder
"Good night Zed, I love you" she says, reaching for his face and planting a quick kiss on his lips. A laugh escaping her as he playfully nips on her bottom lip when she breaks away.
"Good night Addy, I love you too" he tells her, pressing a kiss on her temple before settling himself comfortably beside her.
He falls asleep a little while after, her warmth and peaceful breathing lulling him to Dreamland with a smile on his lips.
