Kim Chien Le
Kim sat in the office with a water bottle he was using to drink, and the school psychologist had taken out of the drawer a file that belonged to Kim and noticed it contained more sheets in it than the previous files she had seen before.
"You're Kim Chien Le?" Questioned the woman earning a nod from the boy, which closed the bottle after having a drink. "I'd like to get to know you a little bit. What's your age and origin?"
"I'm 15 years old at the moment, I was born here and my family moved to Paris a long time before. My grandparents had ran off from the war and landed here in Europe. My parents know where their roots are, but never had the chance to see Vietnam. After years their love began to fade away and both went separated ways,"
"Alright, I have heard. Was it a difficult phase for you to pass?" Questioned the woman watching Kim shrug his shoulders.
"Well, what made it a little bit of...unpleasant for me was, the fact my father who had the majority of the custody, I was always with him very often. We had have the LGBT topic very often at the school, so we all were cool with knowing all that is pretty natural and healthy just as hetero relationships. I don't know, why I found it strange as suddenly my dad outed himself as bisexual. It felt...different. I was used to knowing my parents were old school and it was a big change to get used to it. You know it's natural that this happens everywhere and it's nothing to feel ashamed of. Perhaps the issue there is, that it happened unexpectedly,"
"There are people out there that do accept this issue without any problems, others are more reculant about it but as it's not their problem they let it be. But then when the message hits them that their own flesh and blood is from another sexuality, everyone reacts differently. Maybe this is your case too," Alfida sorted it out watching the boy shrug his shoulders.
"In some way, I believe it makes sense," Confessed Kim, afterward scratching his back neck.
"Is this bothering you at the moment?" Questioned the woman watching Kim shake his head.
"Not anymore,"
"If you think you need to talk about it, I can help" Offered Alfida making Kim nod. "Okay, if I'm allowed to continue I would like to know what your hobbies are,"
"Sure, well I go out very often with one of my old class pals Ondine to the indoor pool to swim together. I'm on the basketball team of the Francoise Dupont school and I enjoy playing games on my smartphone or computer," Kim had answered while observing the psychologist noticing down the answers.
"The girl there Ondine, is she a good friend of you? Questioned the brunette making the boy nod. " are there more friends besides her?"
"Yes, my current best friend from my class is Max Kante, our class,'s big brain. I also get along well with Nino Lahiffe and Marinette Dupain-Cheng, also my classmates" The raven-haired boy noticed making the woman nod.
"And how are you doing in the class? Do you get along with them? Do you have any contact with another student from your previous class besides Ondine?"
"I had Wayhem and Marc, which now are in another class. We weren't befriended actually, we were homework partners and had to bring each other homework when the one was sick. My relationship with the old class was fine. In the new class we're fine too. Ivan and I from being the tallest ones in class kind of would create with each other a strange tension and we had been called out by Miss Bustier several times. One day Mylene was out with him and I was around, she came with him to me and helped both of us discuss with each other, what was up. Since there, Ivan and I get along well. We have seen, that we share a passion for rock, dodgeball, and the Mecha Monkey vs Cyber Shark movie saga!"
"That's great when both of you got out of this issue and bonded for the common things you've share,"
"We both love Lord of the rings and Kingsman, the most,"
"That's good. How are you doing at school? Which subjects at school are you good at? Have you one, you're not good at?"
"Well, I'm obviously good at sports if that counts. I'm good at chemistry and physics. The lowest grade I have is in history, but I have a bit of difficulty in keeping up years from various stories up in my head and tend to mix them up by accident. The topic about the wars and how the world changed over time is really interesting, just this issue here bonkers me a lot and leads me to misfortunes,"
"Have you been able to learn that in a different way or with somebody else?"
"Maxy here does help me out very often. We tried together different ways to help me gain a better result, but so far we haven't found the solution yet,"
"Okay, I'm sure you might have to try a much different way of learning those numbers. Have you tried it with sport on in a more entertaining way?"
"No," Responded Kim. "But with Quizlet, we tried and it improved a little,"
"Okay, you could try it with any type of sport. For example, at swimming, you stay beside the side of the pool and you receive questions, is the question wrong you're pushed into the water, is the question right nothing happens to you or anything else, that's positive. This could be a way, if it helps you'll have to figure out in the end,"
"I've seen in a movie a guy, that learned like that but instead he was in boxing with his teacher. Seemed pretty painful, yet helpful," Kim commented. "I think I will try it out,"
"Feel free to report it to me, if it worked," Commented Miss Ecofinisher filling in the answer on her block, then moved to the next questions.
"Are you healthy?" Questioned the woman making Kim nod. "No allergies?" Kim shook his head making the woman nod. "Have you got any of your friends as your deskmate?"
"Yep, Max," Responded Kim making the brunette nod. "If there's an issue, you really need to talk with somebody about, who do you talk to with? Who do you trust the most on certain topics?"
"Max and my biological dad mostly. Miss Bustier I'm slowly to confess my trouble with learning for history and literature. I believe she understands it compared to the other teachers. I….she's the only teacher I know believes in all of us, until the last,"
"That's something, that all teachers should be able to show their students," Commented Alfida. "All students about your age are capable to gain more knowledge as the weeks pass by. Sometimes we just need to figure out, what way it helps us keep the knowledge inside of us,"
Alfida noticed down the names of the person and moved on to the next question about the dream vacation.
"What places would you love to visit someday?" Questioned the brunette watching Kim roll his eyes up to recall the last countries, he was interested in.
"I haven't thought about it in a while. Last time I had to answer this question I thought about Thailand and Brazil," Responded Kim. "Also the U.A.E was in discussion once between me, Max, and Alix. We wanted to prove each other, who of us was brave enough to ride the world's faster roller coaster when we're all older,"
"Alix Kubdel….."Mentioned Miss Ecofinisher making the boy nod. "Ah, she mentioned that in her answer as well,"
"Alright, had no idea,"
"Last question, now that we're talking about vacation….if you had to spend a few weeks or months on a lonely island, what three objects would you bring with you?"
"I heard the girls complaining about this question and I have the perfect answer for it! All thanks to Markov," Stated Kim making the woman curious, which held her pen over the last free space. "I will bring Max's robot Markov with me, followed by a set of cards and…...that one expensive multifunctional army knife by Tsurugi!"
"A robot…..." Alfida spoke surprised at the idea of the Vietnamese. "Can it talk?"
"Yes, according to Max, he can also feel emotion. This might sound ridiculous, but it's true. Why didn't he show you the thing?" Questioned Kim watching the woman shrug her shoulders.
"Perhaps he didn't want or think about it," Mentioned Alfida watching Kim get up and move towards the door.
"I'll go get him," Announced Kim walking to the outside of the office, while Alfida looked quickly at her sheet and stood up, followed by the door closing the door behind him.
"Wait, I'm not…...done…..." Warned Alfida, but it was too late and the boy had left.
