Katie Ka-Boom was sitting in her bedroom listening to music to keep herself occupied. At the same time, she was also thinking about Jordan and how she liked him so much.
Man, Jordan sure is cute. I wonder if he likes me, too. I can only find out if I ask him.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, prompting Katie to get up, leave her room, and answer it.
"Hello?"
It was Jordan. "Hey, Katie."
Katie was surprised. "Oh, uh, hi, Jordan. What are you doing here?"
"I just came to visit you, see how you were doing." Jordan said.
"Well, that's very nice of you." Katie said, smiling.
"Can I come in?" Jordan asked.
"Sure!" Katie said.
"Thanks." Jordan said, and entered the house. He looked around since he liked how nice it looked.
"Please, make yourself comfortable." Katie said.
"Okay." Jordan said. He sat down on the sofa, followed by Katie.
"So, uh, how are you?" Katie asked.
"I'm good. How are you?" Jordan asked.
"I'm good. My parents and my brother are doing good, too." Katie said.
"Same for me, well, except, I don't have any siblings. The Warners are like siblings to me, though." Jordan said.
"Yeah." Katie agreed.
There was awkward silence that enveloped between of the two of them, before continuing on.
"I don't think I've ever asked you this before, what type of music do you listen to?" Jordan asked.
"I mainly listen to rock and metal." Katie said. She then proceeded to play air guitar and start head banging.
"Heh, nice." Jordan said.
"What about you?" Katie asked.
"I like all kinds of music. And when I say 'all kinds', I don't mean 'all kinds except blah blah blah', I mean I can find something to enjoy in every genre, even if it's a genre I don't listen to that much." Jordan said.
"I see." Katie said.
"Yep. My family's the same way." Jordan said.
"That's cool. There some genres that I don't listen to, but I don't think they're bad or anything." Katie said.
"Right." Jordan said.
More awkward silence engulfed between the two of them.
"Listen, Katie, there's something I need to tell you." Jordan said.
"Shh." Katie whispered. She then began to lean in for a kiss, surprising Jordan.
"Katie, I-I can't...sorry." Jordan said, a little embarrassed. He backed away.
Katie was disappointed, but understood. "Oh, okay, I understand."
"Don't be upset. I really like you a lot, it's just that I'm not aiming to be in a relationship right now." Jordan said.
"It's fine, really. I guess I was kind of coming on to you." Katie said.
"No, Katie, you weren't. You just...I don't know. I guess I'll leave now." Jordan said.
"Okay. It was nice seeing you." Katie said, smiling.
"You too." Jordan said, also smiling.
"See you around." Katie said.
"Bye." Jordan said, and left Katie's house.
Katie looked down and sighed. "I feel so stupid right now."
[Jordan's house]
Jordan arrived back home via his skateboard. He entered the house and sat down on the sofa next to Barbara.
"How was your visit with Katie?" Barbara asked.
"To be honest with you, it was strange to say the least. She tried to kiss me, but I didn't let her." Jordan said.
"Oh...I'm not sure how to react to that." Barbara said.
"Am I jerk for doing what I did?" Jordan asked.
"You mean going to visit her or you not letting her kiss you?" Barbara asked.
"Me not letting her kiss me." Jordan said.
"No, honey, you're not a jerk for that. She was coming on to you, and you stood your ground." Barbara said.
"See, I don't like using the term 'coming on' because it makes me uncomfortable, like we...well, you know." Jordan said, making a gesture.
"Oh, I totally get it. Well, if you see Katie again, hopefully it won't be too awkward for the two of you." Barbara said.
"Hopefully not." Jordan said.
The Warners were sitting at the coffee table building a house of cards. They were being a steady as possible so that it wouldn't topple over.
"Easy does it, sibs. We're almost finished constructing our masterpiece." Yakko said, carefully placing a card.
"It's not like we haven't done this before, including Jenga." Wakko said, carefully placing a card.
"Except with Jenga, the blocks are sturdy enough so they can't break." Dot said, carefully placing a card.
Yakko slow and steadily placed the last card on the house. Luckily, it didn't fall down.
"We did it!"
"Yay!" The Warners cheered at the same time, in victory.
All of the sudden, there was a knock on the door. This didn't make the house of cards fall down, though.
"Who could that be?" Yakko asked, curious.
"Go answer it and find out." Wakko said.
Yakko went over to answer the door. It was Katie.
"Hi, Katie." Yakko said.
"Hi. Can I come in? I really need to talk to you guys." Katie said.
"Sure, come on in." Yakko said.
"Thanks." Katie said. She entered the water tower. "Hey, Wakko. Dot."
"Hi, Katie." Wakko and Dot said at the same.
"So, uh, is everything okay?" Yakko asked.
"Not exactly. You see, I did something that I'm not particularly proud of." Katie said.
"And what was that?" Wakko asked.
"I tried to kiss Jordan." Katie responded very straightforward.
The Warners were near speechless for a minute.
"Wow, Katie, I don't know what to say to that." Dot said.
"I don't blame you. He came to my house to visit me, and all of the sudden, I couldn't hold in my 'urges', if you will." Katie said.
"How did Jordan react?" Yakko asked.
"He backed away from me, which I understand completely now. Listen, I felt I was coming on to him. Am I wrong for feeling that way?" Katie asked.
"Well, I don't think you were coming on to him per se, it was more like a spur of the moment kind of thing, in my opinion." Wakko said.
"Yeah, you just didn't know what you were getting yourself into." Dot said.
"I see. I like Jordan a lot, and I know he likes me, too. I just don't want all of our encounters to be awkward, you know?" Katie said.
"Hopefully you two can work things out." Yakko said.
"Me too. I'm starting to feel better now. Thank you guys. You've really helped me." Katie said with a smile.
"It's our pleasure!" Wakko said.
Gratuitous, Katie group-hugged the Warners, in which they reciprocated.
After letting go, Katie said, "I'm gonna go now. See you later."
"Bye, Katie!" The Warners said at the same time.
Katie waved and left the water tower.
The Warners looked at each other. "I must say, that was an interesting turn of events." Yakko said.
"No kidding." Dot said.
