When his alarm clock went off, Jordan tiredly got out of bed and yawned.

"Time for another glorious day at school." He mused sarcastically.

Jordan entered the living room and sat down at the coffee table with his mom.

"Good morning!" Barbara said as cheerful as usual.

"Morning." Jordan said tiredly. He rubbed his eyes.

"I just took the bagels out of the toaster, so be careful, they're pretty hot." Barbara said.

"Noted." Jordan said. He took a bite and winced. "Man, you were right!"

Barbara giggled. "I told ya!"

Jordan wiped his hands with a paper tower and took a drink of milk.

"So, how are you feeling after the situation with Katie?" Barbara asked.

"Alright I guess. Last night, I had this crazy dream where me and her got married. Can you believe that?" Jordan asked.

"Oh wow! That is pretty crazy." Barbara said.

"Agreed. I don't know, I can't picture us getting married, though. Maybe we're not close enough." Jordan said.

"You're only sixteen after all. You still have a long time to decide your future." Barbara said.

"Right." Jordan said with a laugh. He then sighed. "I hope when I get to school, I don't have to deal with the Peterson brothers. They freak me out."

"If you do happen to come across them, just ignore them. It's the best thing you could do right now." Barbara said.

"I'll keep that in mind. I told my English teacher about what they did to me. He said he would report them to the guidance counselor immediately." Jordan said.

"Good! Hopefully they'll get some sense talked into and never bother you ever again." Barbara said.

"That's what I'm hoping for, I'm keeping my fingers crossed." Jordan said as he took another bite of his bagel.

Barbara took a sip of coffee. "Your dad's coming over for dinner. He said he'd call when he's on his way."

"Is he now? Well, I'm glad he's visiting us more often. He finally came to his senses." Jordan said. That last sentence was mumbled under his breath.

"I am, too!" Barbara said.

Realizing something, Jordan laughed.

"What's so funny?" Barbara asked with a giggle.

"I just realized that me, you, and my dad are all single. None of us are currently in a relationship." Jordan said.

"Oh yeah, that's true. What a coincidence." Barbara said.

"Mhm." Jordan responded while taking a sip of orange juice.

After finishing breakfast, Jordan changed into his regular clothes and put on his backpack. He said bye to his mom and left the house.

[School]

When Jordan got to school, he entered the building and into the main hallway. He leaned against his locker and began playing his favorite game on his phone. Will, Sam, and Johnny were standing across from him, eyeballing him out of spite.

"There's the yutz responsible for getting us in trouble." Will said, referring to Jordan.

"I still can't believe he did that to us. Now we have an appointment with the guidance counselor, ugh." Sam complained.

"That shouldn't bother us, though, I mean, we can lie our way out of it, right?" Johnny asked.

"No way, Johnny, that won't work. She'll probably pry everything out of us that we have to tell the truth, as much as I hate to admit it." Will said.

"Next time we see Monroe, we should beat him senseless, teach him a lesson." Sam said.

"Yeah!" Johnny agreed.

"No, brothers, let's just leave him alone. There's no point in retaliating. He'll probably just rat on us again." Will said.

"But where's the fun in that?" Sam asked, disappointed.

"Sam!" Will said, annoyed.

"Sorry." Sam said, shamed.

After the first bell rang, Jordan went to his first period class. He sat down at his desk and put his phone away.

"Mr. Harrison?" He asked.

"Yeah, Jordan?" Mr. Harrison asked.

"Did you report the Petersons to the guidance counselor?" Jordan asked.

"Yes I did! They have an appointment with her right now." Mr. Harrison said.

"Thanks again." Jordan said, gratuitous.

"No problem." Mr. Harrison said.

[The guidance counselor's office]

The guidance counselor of the school, Miss Smith, received high praise for dealing with troublesome students and helping well-meaning ones with their problems.

"William, Samuel, and Jonathan Peterson, it has come to my attention that you ganged up on Jordan Monroe and repeatedly punched him in the stomach. Is this true?" Miss Smith asked.

Feeling embarrassed and sheepish, the triplet reluctantly nodded their heads yes.

"Well, I must say, I am very disappointed in you three! Physically assaulting other students is an absolute no-no in this school and will not be tolerated! Do you understand?" Miss Smith asked very sternly.

"Yes, Miss Smith." The Petersons responded at the same time.

"Next time this happens, you will be suspended, and if it happens once more after that, you will be expelled. Now, you have detention on Saturday at 3:30 in the afternoon. You better show up, or else." Miss Smith said.

"Understood." Will said.

"Good. You're free to go." Miss Smith said.

The triplets got up and left the office. When they entered the hallway, they saw Jordan walking to his next class. They scowled at him angrily.

"That asswipe Monroe's gonna pay for snitching on us like that." Sam said.

"You know what they say, snitches get stitches." Johnny said.

"We shouldn't even bother trying to apologize to him. Let's just leave him alone." Will said.

"Seriously, Will? After what he did to us? He deserves to pummeled!" Sam declared.

"Beaten to a pulp!" Johnny said.

"Do you guys really wanna risk getting suspended, or worse, expelled? We have detention on Saturday, our dad's gonna be pissed when we tell him." Will said.

"I wonder what he's gonna do." Sam said.

"Probably yell at us or knock our heads together." Johnny said.

"It's a possibility." Will said.

The Warners were scrolling through television channels looking for something to watch. They each took turns in using the remote. When there was nothing to find, the screen was shut off.

"Have I mentioned that I sometimes hate TV today?" Yakko asked.

"Only a couple thousand times." Wakko said.

"Good thing we have Netflix so that we could watch movies whenever we want." Dot said.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"It's open!" Yakko called.

Jordan opened the door and entered the water tower. "Hey, guys."

"Hey, Jordan!" The Warners said at the same time.

"I had a good day at school today. My English reported the Petersons to Miss Smith, the guidance counselor." Jordan said while sitting on the sofa.

"That's good! Did she discipline them hard enough?" Yakko asked.

"I assume so." Jordan said.

"As long as they got their comeuppance for attacking you, then that's what matters." Wakko said.

"Indeed. They didn't apologize to me, which I'm not surprised about at all." Jordan said.

"Bullies never apologize unless they're forced to or they're guilt-tripped into doing it." Dot said.

"Exactly. Hey, do you guys wanna take a walk in the park? I have a hankering for some fresh air." Jordan said.

"Sure!" The Warners at the same time.

"Alright then." Jordan said.

The Warners and Jordan left the water tower, as well as the lot, and began walking down the sidewalk.

"It sure is warm out here." Yakko mused.

"The news said there was gonna be a heat wave, I guess it's starting now." Wakko said.

"Ugh, just what we needed. The sun's going to singe my fur." Dot said.

"Back in New Jersey, we would have very cold winters and mildly warm summers. The springs and falls were about the same." Jordan said.

"Lucky you." Yakko said.

[Burbank Park]

The group made their way to the park. They had to sit down on the bench due to being tired out of walking in the heat.

"Did we really have to walk all the way here?" Wakko asked.

"Hey now, it's good to get exercise." Dot said.

"Yeah, but usually Yakko would bring out the segways from his hammerspace." Wakko said.

"Sorry, I forgot." Yakko said apologetically.

"At least we're out getting some fresh air." Jordan said.

All of the sudden, the group could hear sounds of people arguing. But not people. Pigeons. The Goodfeathers were standing in the distance arguing about something unintelligible. Curse words were being shouted, which were really Italian foods.

"Looks like the Goodfeathers are going at it again." Yakko said.

"I wonder what they're fighting about this time." Wakko said.

"Pesto's probably beating up Squit and Bobby's laughing at it." Dot said.

"As per usual." Jordan added on.

Wanting to see what was going on, the Warners and Jordan got up to see what all the fuss was about.

"Hey, Goodfeathers, what's going on?" Yakko asked loud enough to hear.

"I'll tell you what's goin' on. We found a worm to eat and somebody wants to keep it all to himself!" Bobby said, referring to Pesto.

"Yeah, that's right, Bobby, I DO want it to myself!" Pesto said.

"Haven't you ever heard of sharin', Pesto? Sharin' is carin'." Squit said.

"Forget that crap. I'm eatin' this worm and no one is gonna stop me. End of story." Pesto said.

"That's a bad idea. Bobby and Squit will starve if you don't share that worm." Wakko said.

"Who asked you, Wakko?" Pesto asked snidely.

"Pesto, you're letting your ego get the best of you again." Dot said.

"Case in point. If I may suggest, you could split the worm three ways. That way, each of you will get one piece." Jordan said.

"Does that sound fair to you, Pesto?" Bobby asked.

Pesto thought about it for a second. "Eh, now that I think about it, that DOES sound fair. I guess we could use a stick to chop up this worm here."

"Gee, Pesto, you're always considerate when the time is right!" Squit said, grinning.

"What do you mean by that?" Pesto asked.

"Oh no..." Bobby mused. He facepalmed.

"I just said you're considerate, that's all." Squit said, getting nervous.

"Are you saying that I am angel who rises above from heaven?! Is that what you're saying?!" Pesto asked angrily.

"No, I ain't saying that!" Squit said nervously.

"You're saying that I am considerate?" Pesto asked once again, getting in poor Squit's face.

"Yeah, you're considerate." Squit responded with a nervous chuckle.

"THAT'S IT!" Pesto shouted, and began beating up Squit.

Bobby intervened. "Hey, Pesto, Squit, knock it off! Come on!"

"Can't that guy ever take a compliment?" Jordan whispered to the Warners.

"Barely." Yakko whispered back.

Then, Slappy Squirrel came out of her treehouse in a huff. "What is all the ruckus out here?!"

"Pesto's beating up Squit again." Wakko said.

"Oh, he is, huh? Well, I'll give him a talking to." Slappy said. She approached the purple-headed pigeon. "PESTO!"

Startled, Pesto immediately stopped what he was doing. Squit's feathers were ruffled.

"Listen, could you not engage in whatever violent shenanigans with your pal? You're disrupting my TV time." Slappy said.

"Yeah, I guess so." Pesto responded.

"Good. If it happens again, I'll whack ya with my purse." Slappy said.

"Just like in the theme song." Bobby said.

Slappy turned around. "It's nice to see you again, Jordan."

"Likewise." Jordan said.

Skippy walked by. "What's going on, Aunt Slappy?"

"Nothin', Skippy. Just plain 'ol small talk is all." Slappy said.

"Hello, Warners. Jordan." Skippy greeted.

"Hey." The Warners and Jordan said at the same time.

"Welp, I'm gonna go back to watchin' my shows now. Come on, Skippy." Slappy said.

"Bye, everyone!" Skippy said, and went back home.

After that, the Goodfeathers flew away, followed by the Warners and Jordan walking back to the water tower.

[The water tower]

Shortly after cooling down, Jordan decided to leave since he needed to get homework done.

"Well, guys, I hate to rush, but I'm gonna now since I have homework to do." Jordan said.

"It's not a problem." Yakko said.

"Do whatever you gotta do." Wakko said.

"We'll catch up later." Dot said.

"Thanks for understanding. See you guys tomorrow." Jordan said.

"Bye, Jordan!" The Warners said at the same time.

Jordan waved and left the tower.
