The permanent evening atmosphere of Twilight Town was calm and peaceful. Only a few people were making their way through the streets to visit the shops while the trams were each carrying only a small number of passengers each. The clock at the railroad station chimed as it struck the hour. Roxas, Axel and Xion paid no mind to the repetitive it made behind them. The three Nobodies were sitting together at the tower overlooking the town. They had gone up there to hang out together and - as usual - enjoy some sea salt ice cream.

The silence which hung over the trio was suddenly broken as a voice spoke near them.

"Kupo!"

Roxas lowered his ice cream at the sound to turn to Xion. "Did you say something?"

"No." Xion shook her head. "That wasn't me, Roxas."

Roxas averted his gaze towards Axel. "Was it you?"

"Now did that sound anything like me, Roxas?" Axel cocked an eyebrow. "You should know my indistinguishable and awesome voice by now! Don't tell me you haven't got it memorised?!"

"Well if it wasn't either of you," Roxas said, who was it?"

"Oh my gosh!" Xion cried out abruptly. "Look at that!"

Roxas and Axel jumped. They were taken aback by the excited cry which had come from their normally-quiet friend. They peered at Xion to see she was peering away from them, her face all lit up with delight.

Both confused, Axel and Roxas turned to see what had grabbed the girl's attention - before both blinking upon finding out.

Standing at the corner on the tower's edge was a small creature. It was gazing towards the trio with squinted eyes. It raised a tiny hand to wave to them, it's round red nose standing out within the orange evening atmosphere of the world.

"Why!" Roxas exclaimed. "It's a Moogle!"

"A Moogle!" Xion repeated the name of the creature's species in a voice that was overflowing with awe. "It looks so cute, doesn't it?!"

"Pfft!" Axel scoffed, unimpressed. "You see one Moogle, you've seen them all!"

Paying no attention to her taller friend's cynical, snarky comments, Xion stood up and made her way over to the Moogle. She gazed down happily towards it, her blue eyes shining with adoration.

"Hello!" she said. "You're a little cutie, you aren't you?"

The Moogle gazed up at her. It appeared to be pleased to be receiving such nice comments about its appearance. Especially from such a nice young girl.

"Kupo!" it answered.

Unable to help herself, Xion squealed loudly before scooping the Moogle into her arms. She embraced it tightly like a child hugging their trash bear. She was so taken by the little critter she was easily befriending.

"Wow!" Roxas smiled as he watched them. "Xion really likes that Moogle, doesn't she?"

"She sure does," Axel added through gritted teeth, knowing perfectly well what all this was leading to. "She likes it a little too much, I'm afraid…"

Still cuddling the Moogle, Xion turned her attention back to the boys. She looked at them both with a sweet gaze as from her smiling lips came the very question Axel had been dreading to hear her ask.

"Can we keep him?"

"What?!" Axel burst out.

"Can we keep him? Pleeeeaaaaassssse?"

Axel made a face at the young girl. She was holding the Moogle closely in her arms like a tiny kitten. He couldn't she was begging him like a little child to let her keep it, as if he were her father.

"You've gotta be kidding me!" Axel groaned.

"Aww! C'mon, Axel!" Roxas encouraged. "How can you possibly say no to that face?"

Axel frowned. He didn't know if the face Roxas was referring to was Xion's or the Moogle's. He stared huffily at them both. The girl was blinking her shining blue eyes at him while the creature was staring in such a sweet way at him.

A deep sigh escaped Axel. He knew there was no way for him to win this. It didn't matter how strong and tough he was. This kind of battle was one he couldn't come out on top of. He could not believe his two closed friends would team up against him and outnumber him like this.

"Geez!" Axel said defeatedly. "As I didn't have enough trouble babysitting you two little trouble-makers! I didn't expect any of this when I was joined the Organisation!"

Roxas and Xion exchanged triumphant smiles. They knew they had Axel beat. Both were pleased to have an extra member to add to their little team - and a cute one again."

"Kupo!" The Moogle said to Axel, delighted to have been accepted into the group he had just become a apart of.

"The name's not Kupo, little guy!" The redhead smirked at the critter as he pointed to himself. "The name's Axel! Got it memorised?!"
