Hunters, as some of you may know, the Guild doesn't always provide official statements for every known monster, whether due to lack of information, due to said monster never incurring a quest, enter guild squabbles (such as in the case of Deviljho's initial discovery), or do to its shear rarity. This article aims to amass any and all accounts of not yet officially recognized monsters. Disclaimer: Validity of accounts is not guaranteed.

Chaparral Lao Shen Lung

A potential variant of Lao Shen Lung which has become overgrown with moss and small plant life. The moss that coats its carapace has tinted it green in some places, in other's it's normal red coloration shines through. Small ferns purportedly adorn its hind legs, with a bed of tallgrass growing along its tail. Some reports indicate a small tree has even taken root in its midback. As no hunters have engaged this Elder Dragon, it is unknown if it possesses any abilities that differ from that of regular or Ashen Lao Shen Lung.

Cursewreath Lagiacrus:

A suspected Lagiacrus deviant spotted by a Moga village fishing ship while on a vouge through the tainted sea. According to the account, the Lagiacrus had a darker and duller, almost red coloration, its back spines glowed red with the distinct crackle of Dragon element. Speculation on its origin vairy from it feeding on dragonberrys out of desperation, to simply being altered by the mere presence of [Redacted] within the sea.

Dracofage Kirin:

Accounts of encounters with the elder dragon Kirin are already few and far between, as far as this reporter can tell, there is only a single eyewitness of this Kirin, which comes from a mining surveyor that got lost somewhere in the volcanic belt. By the man's own admission, it could have simply been the result of delusion brought about by heatstroke, as he had long since existed his supply of cool drink. However, the man clams to have seen a bright red Kirin surrounded by red-black lightning that guided him to safety.

Dracofoam Mizitsune:

A claim from a young hunter speaks of a blood red Mizitsune, who's bubbles were filled with a black smoke and sparks or red light that stalked him through the Misty Peaks one night. According to his story it always stayed within the shadows, Spooky I know. This ominous Mizitsune never attacked him but was always watching.

Dracoslime Brackydios:

Yet another account of a potential dragon element variation of a monster, evidence for this entry comes from a sample of a red and black slime mold recovered from the location of a dead Mountain class Elder Dragon. The mold was determined to be a mutated example of the explosive slime mold that shares a symbiotic relationship with Brackydios. As some hunters know, a more potent version of this mold spices is what induces the prosses that creates the far more powerful Raging Brackydios, so if this dragon tainted slime were to be introduced to a Brackydios's mold colony, then it could have very potent effects. However, no Brackydios has actually been observed with this particular slime mold offshoot as of yet.

Earthmother Kulve Taroth:

A variant of the Elder Dragon Kulve Taroth that has been occasionally spotted by hunters within several forested regions. Unlike the Kulve Taroth that was found by the Research Commission in the New World, this Kulve is covered in layers of mud, rock, and plant life rather than layers of gold.

Emberhoof Kirin:

Seemingly the exact opposite of Kirin's official Subspecies, this Kirin commands flames rather than the Ice of Oroshi Kirin. It was briefly spotted by an Elder Dragon Researcher abord his airship, The Everlasting search as it galloped through the Forest and Hills, leaving a trail of burnt hoofprints in its wake.

Flashfire Teaostra:

A Teaostra with an abnormally long, orange main, that was witnesses for only a moment be a low rank hunter gathering ore within the old volcano. According to his account, as soon as it saw that the hunter saw it, it scattered it's blastpowder and ignited it, only there was no explosion, just an extremely bright flash of light, akin to a flashbomb.

Frostmorne Amatsu:

High above the snowy mountains, amidst a fierce blizzard that drastically cut visibility, a research expedition reported catching glimpses of a monster "swimming" through the storm. Years later the discretion would be matched to the newly recorded Elder Dragon Amatsumagatsuchi, or as it's more commonly called Amatsu. However, the monster's coloration differed from that of Amatsu, this Elder Dragon had blueish green scales, and its horns and the endings of its sails were a bright crimson. This reporter strongly believes that this account describes an undocumented Ice based subspecies of the storm controlling Elder Dragon.

Gilded Shen Goren:

Unlike the other accounts in this list, this monster was actually hunted by a G-rank hunter when it attacked a guild fortress, however it was deemed "to similar" to its normal version to gain its own Official Guild note by the local guild hall. The main, and only, difference it that this Shen Goren's shell had become coated in a layer of gold dust along its lower legs and face, which had since been absorbed into its carapace. However, this reporter feels it deserves recognition.

Gorehorn Monoblos:

This monster account comes from an ancient story about a young Monoblos that was hunted by Pre-Guild hunters who took its horn and left it to die without its main form of combat. According to the tale, it's horn eventually regrew larger than before with a second somewhat smaller version splitting off and growing from its base as well. It grew larger other Monoblos, and its hide blackened with rage. Many thought this story just that, a story. However, many off you no doubt know the now famous accounts of a very similar, and all to real tale. That of the Diablos known as Bloodbath.

Mosshide Diablos:

This account comes from the Research Commission in the New World and will most likely gain an official hunter's note entry one day. Within the guiding lands, A small island of the mainland's shore that contains elements of most of the regions of the mainland, a Diablos Variant that was coated in water moss which had bonded with its carapace was briefly captured for study by the hunter known to some as the Safire Star. The moss having granted it a small amount of water elemental damage to its normal attacks.

Overgrowth Gravios:

Much like the previously discussed Chaparral Lao Shen Lung, this Supposed Gravios Subspecies is covered in grass and moss, such to the point that it is hard to discern it from an overgrown bolder from a glance, it can supposedly be found withing the jungle or old jungle and there have been several accounts about it from many hunters over the years, however the Guild is reluctant to classify it as a subspecies as it could simply be a regular Gravios.

Paratung Puki Puki:

Another monster likely to soon get an official note, also hunted by the Safire Star, however this Puki Puki deviant was put out of its misery rather than captured. Through some quirk of fate, it had become addicted to the chemicals secreted by the New World's paratoads. It had lost its vibrant green color, it's plumage fading to a sickly yellow green hue. It's tung was reportedly stained yellow. It had completely stopped eating by the time it was hunted as a result of its addiction, however it had learned to harness the paralytic nature of the toads. Its mucus had developed paralytic properties, though it could no longer produce enough to spit at foes. It would grab paratoads and hold them in its throat pouch and breath out a plume of the toad's gasses or fling the toad itself at those it fought. Its movements were notably far mor jerky than normal for the species.

Posionvein Legiana:

The final monster likely to get an official Guild issued hunters note, and like before it was discovered by the research commission, though not by the Safire Star this time. But before I explain this one, some biology for those not in the know.

Legiana posses a series of vein like structures throughout their bodies that start at their ice sacs and end in a series of pore like structures along their body, this normally makes them extremely susceptible to poison as it finds home within this system. Legiana are so susceptible to poison that they will actively try to induce themselves to vomit it out to try and clear it from there system faster.

At least this is what normally happens when Legiana are poisoned. In the instance of this deviant however, through an as of yet unknown set of circumstances, its ice sacs became inundated with poison to the point where they began to produce it, this resulted in a Legiana that sprayed poison in a similar manner to how a normal Legiana would ice. Although it had partially adapted to the poison racking its body, it is likely that it would have died far sooner than normal had a 5th fleet hunter not put it down.

Pureflame Valstrax:

Little is known about this suspected Valstrax subspecies, however the rare report of a bright blue comet streaking across the sky and the resent discovery of an elder dragon that welded an ultra-refined blue version of dragon element, has led to the theory that a Valstrax subspecies that employs a similarly refined and enhanced blue colored dragon elemental propulsion may exist.

Toxenburst Brackydios:

Supposedly seen by a trading caravan passing through the Old Swamp region, this potential Brackydios subspecies allegedly has a dark orange carapace and a purple slime mold colony. The caravan only saw it from a distance, and it did not attack, however from context clues, this reporter concludes that this may indeed be a siting of a poison wielding Brackydios subspecies that's slime has adapted and evolved toxic properties due to the swamp's own poisonous nature.

Verdant Basarios:

Giving further credence to the so titled "Overgrowth Gravios" being a new subspecies, is the accounts of this Basarios. Also covered in greenery and reported in similar locations, accounts stat it posses a symbiotic relation with a nest of flashflies that dwell within its grassy back, similar to Zinogre's and their thunderbug colonies. As a result of this symbiotic relationship, the Basarios is either unable or unwilling to use its poison gas, instead the flashflies on it's back will emit a blinding flash to briefly blind the young flying wyvern's foes.

Wizened Yama Tsukami:

Ancient civilization carvings depict a truly massive Yama Tsukami with far longer facial tentacles and an actual, full sized, Dragonwood Tree and several bushes on it's back. However, it is possible that this was merely an artistic depiction of a Yama Tsukami as no examples of the Elder Dragon of such size have been witnessed since the founding of the guild, however the number of Yama Tsukami that have been witnessed is already quite low, so the potential for there to be a truly gargantuan example of the already near mountain class monster is far from impossible.

This concludes this article on potentially existing monsters not yet recognized by the Guild, however if you have any stories or accounts of monsters the guild has yet to officially recognize, please send them to us here at Hunter's Life, and we may pen a follow-up to this article.

A/n: That thing about Legiana being really susceptible to poison and puking when under the status and the reasoning as to why is Cannon by the way, Ragegamingvideos sis an episode on it a while back.

Every monster in this list has a render edit for them I made to go along with it, I think you can find them all on reddit, but I may not have posted some of them.

If you have any fan made monster concepts you would like to see a render edit of, leave it in the reviews and I might take a crack at it then post it to R/monster hunter (I'll credit the concept to your preferred username if you leave it). If I get enough new fan made monsters (both mine and yours), then I might make a second chapter of this.
