The moon faintly shone upon the earth. The stars were barely twinkling as they looked down upon the trees standing absolutely still. The forest was silent, no grasshoppers chirping, no frogs croaking, nothing.
A young boy slowly walked through the forest with no sense of where he was. To be honest he didn't care. The only thing on his mind was all the ways he had screwed up.
Percy closed his eyes as a lone tear slid down his cheek. Memories flashed through his mind. Bianca. The barely twelve-year-old girl who hadn't even known of the godly world till a few days ago, had sacrificed herself to save them all from the automaton. An automaton whom he should have confronted instead of sending Bianca after it.
His eyes watered over making his eyesight blurry as more memories appeared. Zoe. The ever faithful Huntress of Artemis. She sacrificed her life to shield her mistress from her father. That shouldn't have happened in the first place, Percy should have taken the sky quicker or tired Atlas out more. That would have actually done something. Instead he was too slow and allowed Atlas to land the blow that finished his own daughter's life.
Nico…memories started flooding his head so much that he briefly reached for his head due to the pain. The crazy ten-year-old boy who loved nothing more than his sister and mythomagic cards. He was so young and naive, he reminded Percy of himself 4 years ago. However, that youthfulness disappeared completely in a matter of days. His sister left him and then she died before providing him clarity on why she left him in the first place. The boy had no idea the dangers of the world he was left in, all alone.
Percy cursed as his foot caught on one of the many roots in the forests and forced him to fall onto his face. Percy rose from his position lying on the ground, grumbling as he brushed the leaves and dirt off his clothes, and he looked up. Zeus' fist towered above him. The fist pointed up into the night sky, where the new Huntress constellation resided.
Percy Jackson sat down with a resigned sigh, using part of Zeus' fist as a back rest. He didn't really know what caused him to walk over here other than the need to get away from camp. Away from the reminder of his failure. Refusing to let another tear fall he looked up at the other constellations surrounding the Huntress.
As he looked up at the other constellations it caused him to think desperately for a hero that had a happy ending. Even Perseus didn't truly have one, sure he had lived to a pretty good age, but the Greek world came back to bite him in the butt. The monster that put his name in the history books, the monster he had slain in the name of Olympus was used on him. During a war Medusa's head had been turned on him when he believed it no longer worked, turning him to stone instantly.
Guess mom was wrong. No heroes have happy endings.
A flash of light alerted Percy to someone in the area which led to him jumping up as he uncapped Riptide.
"Who's there?" He called out into the woods, seeing nothing in the darkness besides the silhouette of a few trees.
Behind Percy there was another flash of light, which again caused him to spin towards where the light once was.
Did someone follow me? I bet this is a prank.
"Who's there? Come out with your hands up, claws down, and fangs stowed in your mouth."
Percy's head darted quickly from side to side as he prepared for a monster attack. However, instead of seeing a monster blue sparks appeared a few feet away from him in midair.
Uhhh. What?
Percy stood there confused when the sparks appeared again in the same spot. He noticed every time the sparks appeared there was less time between each set.
I'm gonna poke it.
If anyone was around him they would've smacked him on the back of his head for this, but in his defense it was blue.
The blue sparks appeared in the air again.
Now! His mind told him, betraying his wariness.
Percy quickly lifted Riptide up toward the sparks, and as Riptide touched the sparks nothing happened. Percy, kind of hoping something cool would happen, hung his head in defeat.
Least I'm not dead.
He went to put his sword back at his side, but when he tugged, Riptide wouldn't move.
That's not how that is supposed to work. He thought as he started getting a bad feeling about this whole situation.
As he tried to pull Riptide away from the sparks that had not disappeared, a blue crack, similar to a small crack in a mirror, seemed to appear in the air.
His heart stopped for a moment before speeding up. He was quite aware of the lake to his far left and that everything was going a bit slower now. He could feel the panic rising in his chest, he knew he was freaking out, but that wasn't his biggest concern at the moment. Percy pulled Riptide harder toward him, and this time it did move. Only the wrong way. The crack seemed to split even more as Riptide slowly sunk into it. Disappearing into nothingness.
Percy opened his mouth to call for help, but no sound came out. Despair consumed Percy in waves as all of Riptide had disappeared besides the hilt.
I'm sorry Zoe. Forgive me.
Percy sorrowfully went to let go of Riptide realizing he was accomplishing nothing by pulling his sword.
Guilt and relief traveled through Percy's body before the panic once again set in. His hand hadn't moved. Instead of his hand letting go of Riptide it too slowly headed toward the mysterious force in front of him. It kind of reminded Percy of an incinerator.
Doubling his efforts Percy tried with all this might to pull Riptide from the mysterious force's grasp, but his resistance only caused the crack to grow even larger.
As his right hand started disappearing, Percy considered amputating his whole arm. Reaching out toward the lake with the only hand he had left, Percy felt a tug in his gut. So focused on summoning the water Percy didn't see the cracks double in size.
He opened his eyes watching the water rush toward him, but then he saw a bright blue light and then nothing.
As Percy Jackson disappeared so did the crack. It collapsed in on itself leaving behind a group of blue sparks that slowly fell to the ground. These sparks burned the grass around them before fading. The only sign that they were once there was the Omega symbol burnt into the ground.
At the top of Halfblood Hill a ten year old sat next to a sleeping dragon. He was curled up in a ball and his eyes were red and puffy as if he had recently been crying. In his right hand he held a small figurine that had a bow and arrow and wore silver clothes.
It's your fault my sister is gone.
The boy stood up and winded his hand back as if he was about to throw the figurine when he heard a thud. Freezing mid throw Nico turned to glare at whoever had snuck up on him, which is when he saw someone sprawled in the grass in front of him.
Nico frowned. He wasn't here a second ago.
Nico, ignorant of the danger he was in, stepped out of the border and walked over to the person. The boy looked a few years older than himself. He had pitch black hair, similar to his own, but unlike him the boy had a tan. Nico jumped, and backed up towards the border after he heard a growl from somewhere around him.
Knowing he couldn't leave the person out here he grabbed the drooling person's arm and slowly dragged him through the grass and up the hill.
How does he weigh so much? Nico internally grumbled.
As they slipped through the border without a problem Nico drug him past Peleus, who gave no reaction to the unconscious person, and took him the rest of the way up the hill. Nico collapsed next to the person as they made it to the top of the hill.
Nico breathed deeper breaths trying to get air back into his lungs after having to haul drooly up the hill.
Chiron will know what to do.
"You're safe now drooly wait here while I get help." Nico told the sleeping boy before running down the hill toward Chiron.
Nico ran all the way to the big house ignoring the call from the Stolls and from Alexis. Seeing Chiron on the porch of the big house with thewine dude, and a random satyr, Nico started shouting to get his attention as he ran toward him.
"Chiron! Chiron!" His young voice called out in between his gasps for air.
Chiron, looking up at whoever called him, saw Nico. Putting his cards down on the table he muttered something to Mr. D who angrily threw his cards on the table before crossing his arms and glaring at Nico. Chiron rolled to the top of the stairs at the same time as Nico arrived.
Chiron looked at him and spoke in a calm but stern voice. "My dear boy, shouldn't you be in your classes right now?"
Nico ignored him and started talking. "That doesn't matter right now, I found-"
Nico was interrupted by a belch from Mr. D, still sitting at the table. "Doesn't matter. It does matter because it ended my game, I was winning." He grumbled glaring at Nico. "Maybe I should just turn you into a bird. No a worm would be even better." He mused while jabbing his finger in Nico's direction.
"Chiron…" Nico started saying.
"Mr. D." Chiron sighed, interrupting Nico. "Turning campers into animals is against what you were placed here to do. I'm not sure Lord Zeus would like you not following his orders." Chiron reminded him.
"Bah!" Mr. D waved his air carelessly. "Father doesn't care that much. If he did, he would be co-director."
Thunder rumbled above them in warning, but Mr. D took it in stride and started looking at a wine magazine that appeared..
Turning back to Nico, who was as impatient as any ten-year-old, Chiron spoke to him. "Now, child, what is it you were saying?"
"There's an unconscious person at the top of the hill, I drug him inside, but he might need help." Nico spoke so quickly that Chiron only heard it all because of his horse ears.
Chiron sprang out of his wheelchair, letting the horse half of his body out.
"Go get Lee Fletcher from the arena and tell him to prepare a spot in the infirmary." Chiron ordered Nico before trotting toward the hill.
Without needing to be told twice Nico ran toward the arena before turning around, realizing it was in the other direction.
Percy blearily opened his eyes. The lights above him reflecting into his face like mini suns. It took the better part of a few seconds for his eyes to get readjusted to the room. Finally when his eyes came back into notice he figured out where he was.
How did I end up in the infirmary?
"He's awake." Someone shouted.
Percy groaned as he tried to sit up only to be shoved back down.
New rule. Don't touch sparkling blue lights.
He looked up and saw a boy he recognized with brownish blonde hair and blue eyes. Lee Fletcher stood next to his bed having just pushed him back down.
"Easy there kid. You don't want to over exert yourself." Lee told him calmly.
Percy frowned at being called a kid, no one really using that name since Smelly Gabe.
"I'm fine Lee. You know me, just give me some ambrosia and water. I'll be fine." Percy grumbled sitting up.
This time Lee gave no attempt to push Percy back into his bed. Instead he backed up his eyes, widening slightly as he got into a slightly defensive stance.
Percy frowned at his reaction. "What's wrong? Is there something on my face."
"How do you know my name?" Lee asked him warily, continuing to back up from the bed Percy sat on.
Percy looked at him confused. "What do you mean, how do I know who you are? I'm Percy. We've talked before, multiple times at the basketball court in fact."
Lee grabbed a pair of scissors from one of the trays. "You arrived here two days ago. You were found on the outside of the border and you were drug in by a camper. I've never met you before."
This whole thing is a joke. The blue light , not knowing who I am, all of it.
Percy stared at him before chuckling. "You almost got me Lee, that was good. Pretending not to know me." Percy told him with a smile.
Lee stared at Percy with a straight face, there was no amusement in his features. "Look I swear to you…Percy is it? I don't know who you are."
Impossible. He's lying.
Percy stared at him, the smile slowly slipping from his face. Another person walks into the room, a blonde girl walks into the room that Percy also recognized.
"Cassie!" He calls, causing her to jump and look at him confused.
"Yes?" She asked questioningly, not understanding how he knew her name.
Percy stared at her for a moment. "Do you not recognize me?" He asked.
When she shook her head, his heart started beating a little faster. "You're serious? You've never seen my face before?" He asked insistently.
What is happening?
"No, I've never seen you before." She tells him backing up toward the entrance.
Percy backs up slightly which caused him to hit the counter next to his bed, sending a glass cup of water to the floor.
They're lying. This is a prank, probably the Stoll twins. His mind told him.
Despite his nervousness Lee, noticing something was wrong walks closer to Percy. "Are you okay? Maybe you should sit down." Lee went to push Percy back towards the bed when Percy reacted.
Don't touch me.
Percy looks at him with wild eyes. Snapping into action instantly Percy pushed him away. Lee, not expecting it, fell back. Cassie, who was still standing at the door, shrieked and jumped away as Percy came barreling toward the door. He ignored her and slammed the door open and ran outside. Ignoring everything else, including the darkening skies and the waves crashing in the lake, Percy sprinted through camp as he ran toward the big house.
Find Chiron. His mind screamed.
Not seeing him outside on the porch Percy rammed into the big house door only to be thrown away from the door and across the porch.
Almost immediately the door opened and an angry Chiron, in his horse glory walked out. "Travis! Conner! What did I tell you about using explosives to get this door open!?"
He should know what's wrong.
"Chiron! I need your help." Percy called out to him rather frantically.
Chiron looked at him for a moment before realizing who he was. "My boy, how did you get here? What are you doing away from the infirmary? Lee was supposed to be taking care of you."
Getting straight to the point Percy looked at him. "Do you know my name?"
Surprised crossed Chiron's face at that question. "My boy I was hoping you could tell me that, and also why you barreled into my door."
Impossible. He's lying. Part of him thought.
What would he gain out of lying? The other part of his head argued.
Percy stared at him slack jawed before his breathing sped up a little and his heart beated faster.
I don't understand.
"It doesn't make sense. I… I saw you a few hours ago. You had told me to leave and you started listening to Dean Martin. I went for a walk in the woods later that night and got to Zeus' fist. There was… there were blue sparks. Then there were cracks in midair and I got sucked through. I thought it was a orale, but also no one remembers me. This doesn't make any sense." Percy was talking quietly, almost as if his thoughts spilled out of his mouth without him knowing.
However, Chiron picked it up due to his horse ears. He had never had a student confront him like this. Either something happened to this kid or he was a spy for Chiron's father. This, however, was a minor thought in the back of Chiron's head. What he was really worried about was how the sky seemed to get darker as the kid freaked out. Looking down at the lake, which was calm a few minutes ago, it was now in utter chaos as if representing the mind of the child in front of him.
Chiron paled slightly at the implications of what was happening. Eager to calm the child down before other campers saw him Chiron brought him inside.
Chiron looked both ways before closing the door and locking it. When the child was on the couch and he was in the wheelchair he confronted the child, who had gone quiet.
"Tell me everything. If what you say is true we have a problem on our hands."
The next couple of hours consisted of Percy telling Chiron everything. From the first snake he strangled, when Chiron was at Yancy, to his holding of the sky.
When he finished recounting his life Chiron was pacing back and forth in front of Percy, who had calmed down significantly.
"How interesting." Chiron mused.
I don't want it to be interesting, I want answers.
"What is?" Percy asked, trying to get any answers he could.
"You're telling the truth. That much is obvious from your oath on the Styx. What's interesting is that in this world Percy Jackson does not exist. The three quests you just told me about all happened, with Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood involved in them. The only difference is a daughter of Aphrodite took your place. There is no child of Poseidon here, we only had a daughter of Zeus who is now with the Hunters."
"Thalia?" Percy asked.
"Yes. Thalia Grace has decided she would not be the hero of prophecy. This was a relief since we thought we would have more time until the prophecy." Chiron observed him with his all knowing eyes. "However, it seems we may not have as much time as we accounted for."
It's always my fault.
Percy lowered his head a little in an apologetic way. Feeling bad for causing problems.
"Worry not child. This is happening through no fault of your own." Chiron told him seriously as if knowing what he was thinking. "At the moment I am going to discuss our options with the gods. Until then lay low. You will stay in the Hermes cabin. Your sword was taken off a monster. You are being introduced to it all for the first time, but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do we alert them to your heritage or what you are."
Percy was slightly hurt at the 'what you are statement', but chose to ignore it.
"Until I talk to you again Perseus stay safe, it seems Fate has plans for you-."
"Great."
"-you know the rules, you know the danger. I will send someone to take you around camp."
Percy nodded as Chiron went to the door and guided him out. Percy walked out of the camp and saw the blue sky's above Camp Halfblood and the calm waters of the lake.
Powerful indeed. Chiron mused as he looked at the sky above him. Turning away almost immediately, he looked around for someone doing nothing. The first person he noticed was Michael Yew walking quickly towards the basketball court.
"Michael!" Chiron called out to him.
The blonde haired boy turned around when he heard his name called with a smile on his face. Until he saw who called him. Knowing he was about to get in trouble for skipping classes he slowly walked up to Chiron.
"Hey Chiron. Fancy meeting you here." Michael said with a nervous chuckle.
Chiron observed the boy for a moment while said boy shriveled under the gaze from the brown eyes of his mentor.
"Since you seem to have a free period, take young Perseus here on a tour of camp. He has already seen the introductory video and I have given him some information. The rest is your responsibility."
"Of course Chiron." Michael said respectfully hoping this would be his only punishment.
"I have a meeting soon, but when I get back we will be having a conversation about skipping your class." Chiron told him in a stern voice laced with a bit of disappointment.
Michael deflated at the revelation there would be more punishment to come, but before he could defend himself Chiron took off. Leaving him and the new kid to awkwardly have a conversation.
With Chiron out of sight Michael turned toward Perseus, observing him for the first time.
He looked to be about the same age as Michael himself and he also had a tan, but that is where their similarities ended. Perseus had black hair, and bluish green eyes along with a white streak in his hair while Michael had completely blind hair and blue eyes.
Michael finally noticed Perseus was staring at him as he waited for him to speak. Michael coughed uncomfortably and then spoke.
"Hi I'm Michael which I guess you already knew since Chiron already said it, and your Perseus."
Well duh.
"Percy." The boy corrected, ignoring Michael's awkwardness, which said person was grateful for.
"Right, Percy. Nice to meet you." Michael said. "Anyway let me show you around." Michael turned away from him and started pointing at things. "In case you didn't notice that is a basketball court, there's the volleyball court, that's the lake, stables are right there, and the arts and crafts classes are over there. Now!" He clapped his hands together and turned back to face Percy. "We got all the boring stuff you've probably seen before out of the way, let's go to the more interesting stuff."
Thank Poseidon.
Michael led him over to the arena where there was currently a class, so they didn't walk in. "This is the arena, most weaponry classes are here besides archery. There's also hand to hand combat here also." Micheal tells him quickly as if he wanted to get away from here.
They start walking away before Percy talks. "What weapon do you use?" He asks, trying to sound curious.
"Bow and arrow. My dad is Apollo." Michael said as if that explained everything.
"The sun dude?" Percy asked in awe.
"Yep. The sun dude, who has time to have more kids, but not see the ones he already has." Michael muttered that last part, but Percy was next to him so he heard it.
"You're not a fan of your dad?"
Michael hesitated looking at the sky before relaxing. "We don't really have a reason to be. Just a heads up don't get too excited about having one of your parents being a god, it mainly involves death." There was a somber silence for a moment.
You are probably the second worst person possible to introduce someone to the Greek world. The first of course being himself.
"On that happy note this is the lava wall. Yes it's real lava, and yes you could die, but if you're going to die just die, there's less paperwork."
Zeus's underpants this dude is horrible.
"Pretty cool."
Michael and Percy continued their tour of camp while also managing to have decent conversations. Most of it was stuff Percy had already seen before, but some was different. To start off with this camp's armory had guns with celestial bronze bullets and cooler weapons in general, like a glaive and an axe. Not only that, but in the arena there were also robot training droids thanks to someone named Tony Stark. Percy didn't recognize the name, but he was interested in what the robots could do.
When they arrived at the camp store Michael and Percy both walked in. For the second time today Percy's eyes widened, this camp store was loaded. It had t-shirts, pants, toiletries, sleeping bags, mythomagic cards, and some pocket knives. Ignoring all of this Michael walked up to the counter.
"I thought I was getting some supplies?"
"You are, but since you have nothing we're gonna get you some of the nice stuff, not this garbage."
They arrived at the counter where two people were talking, Percy recognized them instantly as the Stoll twins, Conner and Travis, they both had curly brown hair and blue eyes along with the troublemaker smile, like their father.
"Wonderful weather we're having today." Michael said to the twins.
"Indeed." Travis mused, he could tell who was who due to the because Travis had a scar on the left side of his mouth.
"Although I tend to bring an umbrella anyway." Conner finished.
Huh?
"Smart." Michael muttered. "But why don't you just stay indoors?"
Once Michael finished Percy heard the door locked behind him and he watched as the shutters closed automatically. Once everything was closed the walls flipped around revealing jars of Greek fire, coca-cola and other soft drinks, there was a wall dedicated to Hermes Express where you could write down your order, and there was even a wall for seasonal items, at the moment that was stuff like snowball makers.
Sick.
"What can we help you with Michael? And who's your friend? You know bringing newbies here is dangerous. Remember what happened in Athens?". All three of them seemed to shiver at the thought.
Not leaving the question unanswered Michael responded. "Percy's cool. Chiron asked me to take him around a bit and we got to talking. He has a sword that turns into a pen!" Michael tells them victoriously, smiling.
All eyes turned to him.
Take Riptide out you fool.
He reached into his pocket and grabbed the ballpoint pen and flipped the cap off causing Riptide to spring into action. The twins' jaws dropped at the bronze glowing sword in front of them.
"How much for it?" They asked simultaneously.
Protectively, Percy pulled Riptide closer to him. "Not for sale."
Even though they deflated slightly they took it in stride. "He's cool. Now what can we help you with?" Their heads turned back to Michael.
"He needs a deluxe pack, with all the supplies."
"Does Percy have money to pay for this?" They asked looking at Percy to answer.
Percy froze. I don't have money. I don't have anything.
"I'm paying."
They turned to Michael, slightly surprised but they recovered quickly. "Well then take him around to get the stuff he can get while we get the rest."
Michael nodded before leading Percy over to the walls.
"I'm a little confused. What exactly is happening?" Percy asks him.
"We're getting you supplies since you don't have anything. Right now we're basically in the black market at camp, but we don't call it that. This is the demigod survival market, ready with any supplies you need and if it's not here you can order it with Hermes Express." Michael tells him weaving through shelves and racks.
"I don't have any money."
"I know. I'm paying for it." Michael told him simply. "Now grab a sleeping bag."
Percy turned a little red . "I'm not gonna make you buy stuff for me."
"You're not making me do anything. I'm willingly doing it, but if it's that much of a problem you can pay me back. Now grab one of these sleeping bags before I get an ugly one." Michael told him while staring at the sleeping bags,
Slightly appeased Percy turned to look at the sleeping bags. "The blue one. Now what's the difference between these and those on that cart?"
"These have cooling and heating enchantments. Designed to keep you at your preferred temperature." Michael told him patiently. "Now go over there to that shelf only and pick out a weapon, those are the ones that come with the deluxe. I'm going to get you a silver knife."
"Why silver? That's slightly random."
"Lycanthropes can only be harmed with silver. Celestial bronze does nothing to them." Michael told him as if it were obvious before walking off.
Oh right I forgot licenfropes hate silver. They taught us that every year in school. He wanted to snark back, but decided not to.
Percy came back to the counter with a glaive, a sleeping bag, and a common silver pocket knife. Percy saw the Stoll twins had a bag waiting for him. Deciding to dig through it later Percy shoved his stuff into the bag without trouble as Michael paid.
"Thanks." Percy told Michael as the door closed behind them.
"No problem, but remember not to mention it to anyone, or the Stolls will bring havoc upon you."
Percy nodded. "Where are we going now?"
"Cabins. I'm going to let you drop off your stuff at the Hermes cabin before we continue."
Walking towards the cabins Percy saw all the… unique designs for the cabins. Apollo's stuck out the most because the sun was bouncing off of it blinding everyone in sight. However, the one that Percy stared at for a majority of the walk was the gray stone cabin with seashells and coral along the walls. He zoned out as he stared at his old cabin hearing it humm as if it were calling him. It reminded him of Montauk, which itself caused a pang in his heart. Does his mother know who he is? Is she alive wherever he is?
Percy came back into focus when he crashed into Michael in front of him which caused them both to stumble for a moment. Michael didn't seem dazed and continued to yell at someone standing at the door to Hephaestus cabin.
"-said I was sorry for destroying the archery range, and it's not my fault Kayla was distracting me and I grabbed the sonic arrow!" Percy heard Michael shout next to him.
"Yeah she's not gonna accept that. I recommend just listening to her and going to talk to her before you make it worse." A voice Percy recognized responded gruffly.
Percy looked up and saw Beckendorf, a tall, burly, African-American who was probably the best blacksmith he knew and the calmest person he ever spoke to.
Michael sighed before running his hands through his hair. "Come with me Percy I have to go make up for an accident that happened and I already apologized for."
Percy and Michael followed Beckendorf through the Hephaestus cabin and down into the secret basement forge. There was only one person in the room he could see.
Nyssa. He recognized. She was there at the very end of camp last year.
Beckendorf and Michael walked past Nyssawithout acknowledging her, but to be fair she was so focused on the machine in front of her, that she probably hadn't seen them walk in any way. As Percy followed them he looked around the room.
The most notable things he saw were a couple of guns lying on the table with bronze bullets next to them, there was a TV, and some weird automatons standing inanimate on the wall.
Secret basement forge. TVs? Guns! I only got a fountain with a fish. Percy miserably complained.
Percy looked up and stopped abruptly, Michael had stopped right in front of him. Percy opened his mouth to say something, but then saw the car in front of them. Percy didn't know much about cars, but just by the James Bond look if it, he figured it was expensive.
Beckendorf reached his hand out.
"Don't do it." Michael pleaded, trying to stop him.
Oh no.
Ignoring his pleas Beckendorf knocked on the roof of the car.
Michael took a few steps back causing him to back up into Percy.
"Hey. Watch it!"
Underneath the car a cart slipped out with a girl laying on top of it.
Umm.
Percy looked at the girl. The first thing he noticed was her blue eyes. Then he noticed that she had her brown hair tied back. She wore a white tank top and jeans which were both covered in grease just like her caramel colored skin. She was beautiful. There was no denying it.
"Who's the newbie?" The girl asked, sitting up on the cart.
"Percy Jackson meet Alexis Stark. Alexis Stark, this is Percy Jackson." Beckendorf told her since Michael was too busy cowering to introduce Percy.
She flashed him a smile with her pearl white teeth. "Nice to meet you."
Say something.
He gave an uncomfortable smile and rubbed the back of his head. "You too."
They looked at each other for another moment or too before Beckendorf coughed.
"Alexis. Michael is here to talk to you."
Her eyes snapped away from Percy's and turned to Michael. "Tell him he is going to repair the archery range with his own money. That might teach him-"
"Oh come on Lexi-"
Uh oh.
It seemed Michael had swam into dangerous territory. Alexis jumped up immediately and grabbed a wrench as she shoved Michael into a wall.
Percy looked to his left and saw Beckendorf look him in the eye, they both backed up slowly. Even Nyssa had stopped her project, her brown eyes watching how this would play out.
Why is the only exit to this place a fire pole?
"Don't call me Lexi." She said sharply, threateningly holding the wrench in front of his face. "Or you won't have a tongue to say it."
Michael gave a victorious smile, as if he was happy he annoyed her.
"Yes ma'am. Pinky promise." He said smiling at her dumbly, but not dumbly enough to actually hold out his pinky for her to brake.
Michael gulped as her eyes glowed a bit. "You will fix the archery range." Michael opened his mouth to argue. "Don't argue. Riley already told me that she and Kayla were canoeing on the lake when it happened." Michael's mouth shut immediately.
Michael gave a weak chuckle. "I'll have it done."
"1 week." She said before turning around. Immediately her whole mood shifted.
"Thanks Charlie." She told her brother, smiling. She turned to look at Percy. "Nice to meet you Percy."
Before he could respond Michael pulled him away, moving insanely fast for a reason that was quite obvious to anyone in the room.
When they were safely out of the cabin. Michael stopped, crossing his arms, and looked at Percy.
"What did we learn Percy?"
"That people will rat you out here."
"No. The other thing."
"You're terrible with girls."
"No. What? That's not true, try again."
"I don't know, just tell me." Percy said exasperdly throwing his hands up.
"Rule number one." Michael looked Percy straight in the eye. "Don't mess with a Stark."
This is a Percy Jackson & Avengers crossover story. I am releasing the first chapter to see what people think before I continue on with the story. If you have any question feel free to ask and I will try and get back to you. Thanks for reading.
