A/N: This chapter is not too plot-heavy. Just Harry's life at the Weasleys.

Also, just reminding everyone, this is not a bashing story. Characters may sometimes act like idiots, or be overbearing, but there won't be bashing.

This chapter also has my first original Quidditch scene. I didn't put Harry and Ginny on the House Teams because I couldn't write a Quidditch scene without committing blatant plagiarism. I also didn't know what rules I was going to set for it. The canon rules just seem dumb imo.

Harry loved Magic. That was no secret, but this had to take the number one spot. They were flying. No, not on a broom- which was remarkable in its own right.

They were flying in a car.

A car.

Harry was well aware that he was gaping at the scenery from the window, but he couldn't care less, because he was sitting in a flying car!!

They had stuck to the ground for a good hour before Mr. Weasley found a road isolated enough for them to start their ascent.

Mr. Weasley was the Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts department, so he had the authorization needed to enchant and use any Muggle object for his own purposes, provided that they were legal. Of course, there were more rules to it than just that, most of which had been written by Arthur himself, but still.

They were headed to the Weasley's home- The Burrow- and Harry couldn't be any more excited. Ginny had told him loads about it, and what it was like growing up there, and he couldn't wait to see the place. She'd warned him that it wasn't 'much', but Harry didn't care.

George turned from his seat in the front and asked, "You're sure Muggles don't have flying cars?"

"George, I don't think I'd be nearly as shocked as I am now if they did," Harry replied after a moment.

"But surely they have something with their eclecticity?" Fred asked from next to George. The interior had been expanded to fit the whole family and then some. Mr. Weasley was driving, Fred and George took the other front seats, Harry was in the back seats, with Ginny on his left, followed by Ron, Mrs. Weasley, and finally Percy.

"Electricity" Harry, Ginny, and Arthur corrected. "And they do have something like this," Harry continued. "They're called airplanes, but they're massive. You travel long distances with it. Like really long distances."

It was a bit disconcerting, the way he'd just become the center of attention, especially with the way Ron was staring at him.

"It's a long distance from King's Cross to the Burrow too," Molly said hesitantly, not wanting to belittle him.

"Yes, but airplanes are huge, Molly," Arthur said. "You'll also need an airport for it to land. Then there's the fuel"

They spent the rest of the trip talking about Muggle ways of transport and comparing them with the Wizarding ones. Harry was interested in the idea of a Portkey. A spell that allowed you to enchant an object to travel from one place to another comfortably. It needed an anchor to the place you wanted to travel to, though, so it wasn't used for anything but international travel.

They eventually reached The Burrow. Harry only got glimpses of it during the landing but then he opened the door and took it in its full glory.

It was a tall building, and very asymmetrical. It looked as though it was only being held upright using Magic, much like Hogwarts. The Ground Floor of the building looked older than the rest of the House. Harry assumed that they kept on adding floors to the Burrow as the Family grew.

There was also a Garden to the side of the House, and it was what a garden should look like, Harry thought. Petunia would disagree because of the weeds that grew there, but Harry found that it only added to the look. There was also a decent-sized pond that looked like it had frogs in it.

All in all, it looked like a home. A Home to a family that loved each other more than anything.

And Harry thought this was the coolest place he'd ever been to, after Hogwarts, Gringotts, and The Quidditch Emporium. And that was a high bar to cross.

Harry was taking it all in with a look of wonder and awe on his face, as the Weasleys looked on with confused, yet happy expressions.

"It's amazing!" Harry breathed after a while.

Turns out, Harry's declaration was far more accurate than he knew.

The Burrow had a very cozy interior, further cementing his thought that this seemed like a home . Harry also spotted a clock that didn't show the time, instead, it showed the locations of all the Various family members. The hands of the clock had the names of a Weasley engraved in them, and were pointed at one of the different locations/situations.

There was The Burrow, Work, Travelling, Mortal Peril, Prison, School, Hospital, and Lost.

Harry wondered where Ginny's hand on the clock would have pointed when they were rescuing the Philosopher's Stone. Would it be Mortal Peril? Or School?

Currently, Arthur, Molly, Ginny, Ron, Fred, George, and Percy were pointed at The Burrow. Bill and Charlie were pointed at Work.

"I'm terribly sorry," Arthur said. "I have to head back to the office now. Someone's set an enchanted Wood-chipper on a Muggle village"

Molly nodded as Harry's eyes grew wide. "Be careful, love," she said.

Arthur smiled, "Of course"

Arthur kissed Molly on the cheek. Harry, Ginny, and Percy looked away, while the rest of them made gagging sounds.

Thankfully Arthur didn't take offense, he simply chuckled and left the room, they saw him go outside and disapparate.

"Well," Molly said. "Everyone go up to your rooms and unpack. Ginny, Ron, could you show Harry to the guest room, please?"

"Come on," Ginny said with a smile, nodding toward the stairs.

Harry followed Ginny and Ron up the stairs and to the First floor. "This is my room," Ginny said to Harry. "Yours will be upstairs"

Harry nodded. "Where's Ron's?" He asked, trying to be polite and include him.

Ron flushed a little, "Top floor"

Harry grinned "Cool," he said.

"Here's yours," Ginny said to Harry when they were on the second floor. The guest room was decent-sized, not as big as the ones at Hogwarts or the Leaky, but just as cozy looking.

There was a comfortable-looking bed on the right with a nightstand next to it. There was a window next to the bed and across from the entrance, there was also a desk that faced the window. There was a wardrobe on the wall to Harry's left.

"Nice" Harry said, walking to the foot of his bed and removing his trunk. He dropped it to the floor and nudged it with his foot. It instantly started growing to its full size.

"So, what do you guys do for fun around here?" Harry asked, sitting down on the bed.

"Well, Ron and I have to go unpack," Ginny said. "But, I think we can rope everyone in for a game of three-a-side Quidditch after tea"

"Alright. I'll get started on some of my homework" Harry said.

Ginny nodded but Ron looked at him in disbelief, "Homework!?" He cried.

Harry blinked. "Well, yeah," he said slowly, "We've got homework in almost every subject"

Ron was gaping at him "But it's the summer"

"Which means as soon as we does our homework, we're free to toy around with the spellbooks for next year," Ginny said.

"You're going to study too?" Ron asked, aghast. "You're mad"

"We're not mad," Ginny said. "A little addled maybe, but not fully mad." Harry and Ginny looked at each other and burst out laughing, memories of their adventures going through their heads. Ron just looked at them in confusion.

"Besides, Magic is actually fun to learn" she was grinning mischievously now, "Especially when Harry turns into a nerd"

"I do not!" He protested, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Oh?" Ginny asked, an innocent expression on her face that Harry didn't believe for a moment. "So… you're not the one who spent a whole night in the Library because you thought that it was 'cool' to find out why some spells need multiple wand motions and what those wand motions do? And you're also not the one who starts jumping up and down when you or I get a useful spell right?"

"I… well" Harry spluttered but realized she was right. He was a nerd. Bloody hell, he thought. "You're the same," he said lamely.

She snorted. "Yeah, I like to join in, but I don't get as excited as you do"

Mentally admitting defeat, he turned to the window and huffed, arms still crossed over his chest.

Ginny laughed. "Come on, Ron, let's go. He'll probably need a minute to process everything"

Harry's reply was a very rude hand gesture that had Ginny laughing her head off.

"Charlie!" Ginny shouted, and ran to hug her brother.

"Hey, Ginny!" Her brother greeted her.

Charlie Weasley was wearing an Appleby Arrows T-shirt, and a pair of black pants, and he had a beard. He wasn't tall like Percy and Mr. Weasley, he was short and stocky. Probably the most in-shape Weasley Harry had ever seen. He also seemed like a good bloke from what Ginny had told him.

He was also, apparently, a very good Seeker.

Charlie nodded a hello at him, hugged his mother, ruffled Ron's hair, shared an elaborate handshake with the twins, and gave Percy a one-armed bro-hug. He waited till everyone was occupied before talking to Harry and Ginny privately.

"You must be Harry, then?" Charlie asked.

Harry nodded, liking the fact that he hadn't mentioned his last name, or that he didn't seem star-struck like Ron. "I am"

"Good to meet you, mate," Charlie said, before turning to Ginny "Heard about what happened a few weeks ago. Are you doing alright?"

"Yeah. As well as I can, I guess" Ginny said.

Charlie nodded and smiled at her. "And you?" He asked Harry.

Harry was a bit surprised at Charlie's concern. No one but Ginny and Dumbledore had asked him how he was doing after that incident. That wasn't their fault necessarily. Harry, Ginny, and Dumbledore had all agreed that it would be best if Voldemort's name was left out of what went out to the public and the Aurors.

No one knew about the Philosopher's Stone either. They just knew that Harry and Ginny had prevented Quirrell from stealing a Powerful Magical object. They also thought that Quirrell was vaporized due to a miscast spell.

"Same as her," Harry said after thinking about it.

"Well, if either of you wants to talk or anything… I'm staying here at the Burrow for this month and July"

Ginny perked up quite a bit at this. "Really!?" She cried happily.

Charlie just nodded. "I'll still have training in the morning for some days, mind. But I'll be staying here. I missed you guys last summer"

"That's great," Ginny said. "Wait, are you home now, or do you have to go again?"

Charlie shook his head. "Home. Why?"

"Well, you can play Quidditch with us after tea, then!" Ginny said.

"Three-a-side?" Charlie asked with a grin. Ginny nodded. "What do you prefer playing?" He asked Harry curiously.

"Seeker," Harry replied.

He grinned. "Same. We'll choose the teams, then"

Harry nodded, suddenly feeling very nervous. Charlie was a professional Quidditch player. He'd flatten Harry within seconds! But Harry didn't back down from challenges, so he didn't protest.

The Quidditch match turned out to be a four-a-side game after Mr. Weasley came home during tea. Harry, Ginny, Percy, and Ron made a team. Charlie, Fred, George, and Mr. Weasley made the other.

They were playing with No Beaters, a Seeker, Two Chasers, and a Keeper. Harry and Charlie were the Seekers. Ginny, Percy, Fred, and George were the Seekers. And Mr. Weasley and Ron were Keepers.

Quidditch was normally played for 3 hours.

But they didn't have that time. They'd already been late since Mr. Weasley wanted to join in, and they could use someone else. So they were playing for an hour.

The rest of the rules were the same except the ones relating to Beaters since they didn't have any. The Chasers scored points, the Keeper defended, and the Seeker caught the Snitch.

The Seeker, however, could only catch the Snitch after his/her team had scored five goals. Each Snitch catch was worth 50 points. They'd reduced it to 30 since their pitch was considerably smaller than the professional ones. The one with the most points after the time limit won.

They all mounted their brooms, and took to the air, settling into their positions. Harry had been given Bill's old broom since he never bothered to buy himself one if he wasn't going to make the House team, something that greatly confused Ron. Harry knew Ron didn't know what Harry's life had been like, so Harry kept his mouth shut. In truth, Harry was starting to get tired of this star-struck attitude. He tried to ignore the looks as best he could but there was a limit to everything.

Mrs. Weasley had the Quaffle with her. She was the referee. "Ready?" She called.

She threw the Quaffle up when she received all their nods. Harry immediately grabbed it from under Charlie's nose. Seekers could score for their team using a Quaffle at first but after five- or in this case three- goals they had to stick to the Snitch.

He raced to the Goal. Mr. Weasley was ready for him, Harry knew. He swerved to the side, and performed a pass Ginny taught him, he swung his hand as though he would shoot, but at the last second, he changed the ball's trajectories to his left.

The Quaffle soared into Ginny's waiting hands, and she put it through the left hoop, which was wide open.

"YEAAAHHH!!!" Ron and Percy cried. Charlie was looking at Ginny, his mouth agape. Fred and George were looking determined and Harry and Ginny were smirking at all of them.

Their smirks turned out to be short-lived as Charlie, Fred, and George scored five goals, while they only managed 3 more. At least, Charlie would be restricted to catching the Snitch, which meant Harry could catch up.

Sure enough, he intercepted a pass between Mr. Weasley and Fred and raced to the goals. Fred was neck and neck with him and was about to swerve right when Harry dived low and tossed the Quaffle to Percy, who was flying level with him. They both rushed forward, and Percy passed to him at the last moment, confusing his father, and giving Harry the opportunity needed to score.

He didn't stay to celebrate, though, choosing instead to pull his broom upward, and joining Charlie in the air.

"You play well," Charlie said. "You still need training, of course, but you play well"

"Thanks," Harry replied.

"Ever consider Professional Quidditch as a career?" He asked.

Harry blinked. Surely he was taking the piss, right? Ginny had told Harry that he was good, but to be asked by a Professional player? He didn't think he was that good. He shook his head in reply.

"Well, you'll be good if you decide to do it. I can tell" Charlie said.

He saw a flash over Charlie's shoulder and knew it was the Snitch. They didn't have much time now, just two minutes. But Harry decided to shoot off anyway, Charlie hot on his trail.

The snitch, as though sensing his presence, started flying to the ground, Harry and Charlie dove after it, an arm outstretched.

The ground was nearing them, and the broom Harry was on wasn't a Nimbus 1700 from Hogwarts, so he had to go about this carefully. Charlie had longer arms, though, so he was able to grab the Snitch before Harry could form any plans.

Groaning, Harry smoothly pulled the broom parallel to the ground. The other team was celebrating, but Harry was just too tired. He landed, kept the broom on the ground, and lay down.

"Good game," Charlie said, walking by. "I meant what I said. You'd be good" He offered him a hand and hauled him up to his feet when Harry accepted.

"Thanks. You're good, too. Hopefully, you'll get to play this season" Harry replied, knowing Charlie hadn't been able to last time.

"I hope so too, mate"

Ginny joined him as Charlie had to go intercept the Twins before they reached Percy.

"That was a great dive," She said. "Are you ok?"

"Tired," he responded.

She smiled "Hopefully dinner will make you feel better," she said, as they walked back to the Burrow.

He just nodded, too tired to say anything.

The following week passed by in a similar fun-filled manner. Harry and Ginny got up early in the morning for a run, they were sometimes joined by Charlie when he wasn't scheduled to go to training. Then they helped Mrs. Weasley cook some breakfast. After breakfast, they would either practice spells, or play Quaffle-Toss, and then do their homework.

Last weekend they'd helped Mr. Weasley enchant a Rubber Duck to talk and function independently. Unfortunately, the enchantment couldn't be made permanent, but they had a good thirty minutes just messing around with the Duck.

Harry found Ron to be a decent guy when he got over his awe of Harry. Ron was also quite the Chess Player. Harry had lost four games to him in 20 minutes. He'd admittedly given up in the last two, but still…

Currently, Harry and Ginny were lying down in front of the pond, their feet submerged in the enchanted cold water.

"Harry?" Ginny asked.

"Hm?"

"Remember how you told me to get a feel for my Magic?" She asked.

He nodded.

"I think I might have it," She said.

Harry's eyes went wide and he slowly grinned. "That's great!" He cried. Of course, it would take loads of time for her to be able to do anything with it, but still…

"How does it feel?" He asked.

"It's… warm. Very faint" She said thoughtfully.

"Faint?" It wasn't supposed to be faint. It was supposed to be noticeable. Maybe it meant that it was still developing?

His emotions must've shown on his face because her next question was laced with worry. "What's wrong?" She asked.

"It's… not supposed to be faint," He said, opting for the truth. "It's supposed to be noticeable, and it's supposed to be a Powerful presence"

He could see the tension and disappointment in her eyes and he rushed to assure her. "I don't think it means you can't do it. It just probably means you're developing it. Can you call that feeling without a Wand?"

"I'm trying that," She said. "But it's not working too well. It's why I didn't tell you before"

Harry nodded in understanding. "It's okay. I'm actually as excited as you are for this"

Ginny grinned. "Nerd" she teased him and poked him in the side.

"Oh ha, ha" he sarcastically muttered, lightly slapping her hand away.

Before they could do anything else, Harry spotted an owl flying toward them. It was a bit far off, but Harry could tell it looked dark brown. Ginny wasn't facing it, though, so she turned around and followed his gaze. Neither of them wanted to take their feet out, though.

They watched the owl as it flew closer and closer, heading straight toward them, and Harry noticed it had an envelope attached to its leg. He recognized the owl as Hyperion, the Creed Family owl.

But, at the last second, Harry saw a ripple in the air, heading straight toward the owl. The ripple passed through the owl and stopped causing the owl to change its trajectory and land in a group of trees.

Ginny laughed humorlessly. "Nothing normal ever happens around us, does it?" She said, getting to her feet.

"Apparently not" Harry commented dryly, hauling himself to his feet too.

They quietly crept to the trees in silence, finally crouching behind a bush and observing the scene in front of them.

There was an elf there, a very emaciated, horribly clothed elf. It wasn't facing them, top busy taking the envelope off the owl, but it was proving hard for him since his fingers were shaking so much. Sighing, Harry drew out his wand and pointed it at the elf.

Petrificus Totalus

The wand tip glowed blue and the elf immediately went rigid and fell to the ground. Harry and Ginny got up and went to him. Hyperion blinked and looked around and hooted when he saw Harry.

"Hey, there" Harry said, stroking the owl's feathers, "You alright?"

The owl just looked at him, obviously not understanding what he was saying. Harry sighed and untied the envelope. He saw that the envelope had his name in Jessica's writing on it. "Go," Harry said.

The owl understood this time and flew away. Harry put the letter in his pocket and turned to the elf on the ground, pointing his wand at him again. Finite, he cast.

The elf gasped in a lungful of air, and turned to Harry with a panicked expression. He went to stand up but Harry and Ginny pointed their wands at him. "Who are you?" Harry asked in a low voice.

"D-Dobby, sir. Dobby the H-House elf" The elf- Dobby- said.

"Why were you stealing Harry's mail?" Ginny asked, slightly softer than Harry had.

Dobby's eyes teared up. "Dobby didn't know what else to do, miss"

"And what exactly does that mean?" Harry asked.

"Dobby was only stealing to keep Harry Potter safe" Dobby cried.

Harry narrowed his eyes. "Keep me safe?" He repeated. "Safe from what? And why would you even care? We've never met"

"We haven't, sir. But Dobby has heard tales of the great Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley. The Hogwarts elves praise you both highly" Dobby explained. "So, Dobby thought he should keep you safe"

"Safe from what?" He was 90% sure that this was a prank, but just in case it wasn't…

"Sir and Miss must not return to Hogwarts. Something terrible is about to happen there. Dobby heard Master tell it to his son." Dobby said.

"And who is this Master of yours?" Ginny asked. He didn't look like a Hogwarts elf, Harry noted. Those elves were healthier.

"Lucius Malfoy, miss," Dobby said, confused as to why Ginny was asking him that.

Of course he was, that explained a lot. Harry and Ginny both sighed and put away their wands. "Well, you can tell Draco that we're not falling for it," Ginny said.

"Dobby does not lie, miss," Dobby said.

"You haven't given us any proof," Ginny pointed out, "Maybe we'd believe you if you told us what you overheard"

Dobby swallowed and was seemingly lost in thought before giving a hesitant nod. "Very well. Dobby overheard Master Lucius tell Master Draco that something was going to happen at Hogwarts. Something that would cause a lot of harm to Harry Potter and his Friends. Dobby had heard of Harry Potter so Dobby came to help"

Try as he might, Harry couldn't force the worry out of his mind. He wasn't worried for himself, he could deal with whatever it was. Ginny would probably help him, so he'd worry about her later on. But Devon and Jessica prefered to stay out of his adventures, but they might just have no choice if someone was targeting them.

"Harry? Ginny?" they heard Mrs. Weasley's voice. The kids in question turned around. "I've been looking for you two for ages. Come on, lunch is ready" she called.

"Yes Mum/Mrs. Weasley" Ginny and Harry respectively said.

Mrs. Weasley nodded and started walking back to the kitchen. Harry turned to Dobby, "Is there something else you can tell us? Anything?"

"I'm sorry, sir. That is all that Dobby heard"

Harry sighed, not actually expecting anything more. "Alright… thanks anyway"

Dobby bowed and disapparated.

"Well," Ginny said after a moment. "That was…" she trailed off, not knowing how to describe their latest encounter.

"Weird?" Harry offered.

"Weird only covers our time at Hogwarts" Ginny said, shaking her head and walking to the Burrow. "This was something else"

Harry laughed. It was true, they did have the weirdest First Year. Strangely, Harry didn't mind. Hell, he could see himself happily live like this for a long time.

Of course, these thoughts didn't stop him from thinking about the warning Dobby gave him. "What do you think we should do?"

"Talk to Dumbledore?" Ginny suggested. "He's the Headmaster, after all"

Harry nodded, thinking along the same lines. Harry and Ginny would just tell Dumbledore, and he'd take care of it, and they could have a good normal year without any life-threatening shenanigans. Yes, it would be a good year. Harry could feel it.

He had no idea how wrong he was.

A/N: The chapters are going to be considerably shorter from now on, unless it's the end of a part or an Interlude (Could be longer or shorter. I really don't know).

The reason for Dobby stealing the letter is not exactly the same as canon. I'll explain it in the later Chapters.

Oh, and could you please let me know how the Quidditch scene was? Yes, I'm aware it's not much but still. Thanks.

Hope you enjoyed this. Leave a review if you did.

Byeee!!
