Chapter 1: Calm Lifes
"Hey! No running in the restaurant!" Tyler Martinez, a young man of around 28 yelled to the children currently running around the restaurant. His moppy brown hair flopped about as sigh before adjusting his uniform, the company logo Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria proudly labeled on the front of his purple hat, "Aw, man...now I gotta chase them down. Foxy, keep an eye on the others for me!" Tyler yelled to an animatronic pirate manning the area of the restaurant dedicated to 'thrilling pirate adventures with Foxy the Pirate!'
At least if the sign beside the area read correctly, the words Out of Order! were still displayed on the back side of it, the higher ups merely turned the sign around after years of being out of order after Tyler's younger brother, Kyle Martinez, became a night guard and helped restore Pirate's Cove and Foxy to their former glory. Tyler grinned as he went after the trio of running children.
"H-Hey!" The animatronic chicken by the name of Chica yelled when they ran into the kitchen, nearly stopping her from being able to make the pizza that the pizzeria was supposed to be famous for. Sadly, while the quality of the pizza went from cardboard to really good recently with Kyle's help, the restaurant was still infamous for the story of the dead children stuffed into animatronic suits.
It didn't help that they were true, "Sorry! I'm still chasing after them to get them to stop!" Tyler yelled out his apology, making sure to calmly speed walk out of the kitchen to avoid making any more of a mess. The kitchen had been expanded recently once Kyle made a comment about Chica being able to take over cooking the pizza during his first week. After getting out of there, Tyler looked around frantically, hoping to catch a glimpse of the trio before noticing them running towards the main party hall.
Tyler ran through the mostly cleaned walkways before finally catching up to the three near the front by the last three animatronics. Two of the three were known to almost anyone that's been to Freddy Fazbear's, while the last one was a 'new' animatronic that had been 'found' in the backroom a few weeks before. Tyler chuckled at the joke, knowing that, according to Kyle, Charlie had simply gotten bored of just watching the kids through Kyle's eyes and wanted to step on the stage herself. So, Kyle pointed out a place where they could find her animatronic body and went from there.
Now, Freddy, Bonnie and Golden Freddy were the main attractions on the main stage, with Chica relegated to pure kitchen duty aside from the closing acts now and again. None of them really minded the new arrangement, and no one batted an eye to the fact that the animatronic wasn't even known about until Kyle pointed it out. Tyler snickered a bit as the three kids turned towards him in panic.
"Aw, man! I thought for sure we lost you!" The middle kid, a blond that had been king at making Tyler chase him around the place along with his two friends. He was in a white t-shirt and had some paint splattered onto his face from when he passed by the backstage party room and messed with the toys meant for the arcade shop.
"Shut it, we can still lose him." The boy to the left said, looking pretty bored all things considered. Tyler figured he was merely watching intently for an escape route, wanting to blend in with his dark blue shirt and shorts. Then again, his albino hair made it nearly impossible for him to do just that.
"I...I think we don't really have anywhere to go, Erik." The girl on the other side of the middle kid mentioned while her red dress swayed about, noticing that they were surrounded on all sides. The boy on the left tsk'd as Tyler sighed.
"Serra, we're not trapped yet, don't be a wuss." Erik insulted as the ginger looked back at him with a glare.
"Hey! I'm not a wuss, you oaf!" Serra recoiled as the middle kid facepalmed when they started an 'Are too! Are not!' back and forth.
"Guys! Calm down, okay!?" The blond in the middle finally got annoyed enough to yell and push the two apart.
"Shut up, Eyan! No one asked you!" Serra and Erik both yelled at him as Tyler grimaced at the escalating situation.
"Look, we appreciate a good chase here and then, but you gotta know that no running in halls means no running in the halls." Tyler tried.
"But you were running too!" Eyan pointed out indignantly as Tyler snorted.
"After you in order to try and make sure that you didn't hurt anyone!"
"But you were still running!"
"And so were you!"
The two of them glared at each other for a while before grinning and shaking hands, "God, it's been a while since someone's livened up my job in this place, routine is nice and all…"
"But it can be a lot of fun shaking things up!" Eyan finished off as Tyler let go and looked towards the three again.
"Now, I want you three to just go about having a good time, and maybe even help some others have a good time too! But you have to follow the rules, so I'm gonna make you three my assistants until you have to go!" Tyler said; Erik and Serra stopped their bickering long enough to glare at him while Eyan's eyes lit up in excitement.
"REALLY!?" He asked as Tyler nodded.
"Yup! That means you have to make sure that the other kids are also following the rules, as well as do your best to have a great time here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria! I'm sure you three will do great as you already know a good amount of the places that you shouldn't be in, right?" Tyler asked kindly, and if his hands were applying a bit too much pressure to the three children, "After all, we don't want to be breaking the rules, right?" Tyler continued with the same not-so-pleasant smile. The three blanked as Erik tried to let go of Tyler's hand before Tyler let go himself, "Now that you know, do your best!"
Tyler smiled as the three shakily nodded before walking away like the devil was behind them, "Tyler...that was cruel," Tommy, or Freddy as most of the pizzeria knew him as, looked at Tyler with a deadpan look. Tyler shrugged, "Tyler, you know you could have been nicer about that, those three look terrified of you!"
It's been a while, but something had changed within Tommy and the other animatronics after Foxy had pulled the switch in the breaker room. They had some control over their actions or something that Tyler didn't really bother to find out. He was fine enough with the 'magical bs' as the explanation. It just felt like it more them and less animatronic now as the only time the animatronic parts of them arose anymore was when they were performing.
Of course, that said nothing for Foxy. Despite the weird, awkward relationship the two of them had; Foxy's been more of a silent dependable figure that was always there making sure everyone stays safe. Tyler couldn't help rubbing his left hand a bit as the memory of a few weeks ago came to mind. It was mostly on Tyler for trying to lay a hand on his shoulder, but the exposed endoskeleton hurt.
Tommy didn't look amused by how long it took Tyler to answer him as Tyler blinked back into awareness, putting on a smug grin when he remembered who they were talking about, "Eh, they'll be fine~ They shouldn't have made me run through this area!" Tyler grinned childishly, Tommy scoffed.
"Sometimes, I wonder if we really should have let you be Foxy's Host, his antics are rubbing off on you." Tommy grumbled as Tyler smirked.
"Oh? I didn't know I had a choice! I'll be sure to let Kyle know that you don't want to play cards tonight…"
"WAIT!" Tommy panicked as Tyler laughed and walked away towards Pirate's Cove, "I'll get you back for this!" Tommy told him as Bonnie started strumming his guitar. Tommy sighed as he looked towards the children with a smile and waved before starting to sing.
Tyler didn't see much of it, but he noticed that Charlie was on the drums and doing pretty good at it. Tyler couldn't help wondering if that would transfer to Kyle, but pushed that thought aside as he walked back into Pirate's Cove with a smile.
"Any incident?" Foxy shook his head as Tyler nodded, "Glad to hear, and I see the children are absolutely loving your stories." He said while noticing the children trying to beg for another story from the animatronic. Foxy even looked like he was praying Tyler to get him out of there; although, Tyler could be imagining it.
Tyler highly doubted it though, but couldn't help a smirk from showing on his face, "Hey, kids!" The children turned towards him as Tyler looked towards Foxy, "Captain Foxy looks to be a bit tired out, remember that he's still recovering from his dangerous sea trip from a little more than a month ago, so he'll need to rest for a while," Tyler said, noticing the crestfallen looks on the children, with many begging Foxy to say otherwise, but Tyler didn't let him respond, "I'm sure Captain Foxy will be back at full health tomorrow, but you wouldn't want him to lose out on rest! Rest is what keeps Captain Foxy from losing focus on those harsh waters! Otherwise, he could fall overboard and drown! You wouldn't want that, would you?" Tyler explained, noticing the pale looks that spread around as they struggled to say no or shake their head as fast as possible, "Alright, then let's give Captain Foxy some space and let him rest for a while! If we're lucky, you'll see him before you head out!"
At that, Tyler helped lead the children out in a nicely ordered line while Foxy sighed in relief. The animatronic still wasn't that great at speaking outside of programming, but he was slowly showing signs of emotion, which Charlie explained as perfectly normal behavior. Tyler couldn't say he was that familiar with it all, having only been working at the company and 'Hosting' Foxy for about a month and a half now, but he figured that he could understand Foxy a bit.
Foxy liked the attention that he received, but he was nervous of breaking back down again. He was just as new to this as Tyler was in a way, but only one of them was around children that they could easily kill by accident. Foxy tilted his head towards Tyler before shrugging.
Tyler smirked, "Well, Captain Foxy, I think you should be getting some sleep now, you wouldn't want to be late for the children, now would you?" Tyler teased as Foxy scoffed before waving Tyler goodbye and heading to his recharge station within the pirate ship attraction. Tyler got up, yawned and checked the time.
It was about seven, meaning that he still had about a half hour before the shift change, and then about four and a half hours before Kyle's shift began. Thankfully, he didn't necessarily have to leave after his shift was over, he could just relax while the evening guard got settled in. Kyle abused this quite often to talk to Tommy and Charlie before Tyler started making sure he got home after his shift was over to make sure he actually got sleep. Tyler was starting to worry about Kyle, especially with how often he's been missing out on his sleep schedule, and even Charlie looked like she worried about him.
Tyler merely groaned, not at all looking forward to that confrontation, he loved his brothers, he really did, but Tyler was getting sick and tired of having to call them out on their bullshit. Kyle was avoiding sleep more and more lately, waking up in cold sweats and Tyler knew that night shift was also getting bad with how Kyle seemed to be pushing more and more of the cleaning to the animatronics and Tyler himself. Kyle was getting bad, and Tyler had to call him out tonight if he really wanted anything to change.
Tommy kept reassuring him that Kyle'll be fine and even Charlie merely shrugged and said to leave it be, but Tyler was seeing the panicked exhaustion that Kyle wore on his face now. He didn't even come into the day lately anymore, Mom having agreed with Tyler and trying to force him to sleep and eat some before his work. Tyler and Kyle still were...awkward with Mom to say the least, having to continue dancing around what Night Shift entailed and why the brothers looked forward to it so much.
It hurt honestly, but Kyle kept saying that it was better for her to not know, and Tyler couldn't deny it, even Mom herself couldn't when asked what would happen if anything shocking was told to her. The risk of a heart attack was too real, and while she knew that there was something that the brothers were keeping from her, namely the fact that Tommy was in a weird half alive, half dead state, she didn't know exactly what it was that they were keeping from her.
Tyler could see how it was eating at her in dinners especially, how all three family members tried their best to dance around the elephant in the room and how none of them could really confront it. Kyle had certainly tried, even recommending that they talk about it when she was close to the doctor to prevent any major risks, but Tyler had to shoot that idea down with just how serious the implication of being overheard was.
Needless to say, Tyler was feeling a bit...antsy lately. There just wasn't anything he could do about anything that was happening, and he knew that the warning William, that bastard of a murderer, gave them was on everyone's mind. How could it not be? The idea that something worse than him was coming? Even with how everyone could relax and enjoy themselves, Kyle's words still rang through Tyler's head even now,
"Let's just enjoy life as much as we can. There's no use worrying about that which we can't change."
It wasn't like him... although, that didn't really feel right.
It kinda was like Kyle to do that, the old Kyle before Tommy's death. Even Tyler was starting to loosen up and act more childish after becoming Foxy's Host...God, that still sounded wrong to him, but he was starting to push away from his outlandish thoughts of what it entailed after it all. Kyle seemed to have changed honestly. Where before laid panicked confusion and a presence that never was there now laid calculating eyes that seemed to know exactly what he was doing all the time. Tyler couldn't help both feeling proud and slightly terrified.
He could feel himself changing too after all, and even Tommy seemed different slightly, but Tommy was a bit weirder given that he just seemed to be himself but more mature and...dare he say it, fatherly. He couldn't help but feel that was the Freddy in him, where he viewed himself as the dad of the gang, helping keep the others in line and safe. Tyler thought to himself as he made to clock out, watching the kids starting to head out with smiles on their faces. He couldn't help smiling as well, making sure that each one left with their parents and siblings.
A job well done was always nice, but he couldn't help the thoughts that still racked throughout his brain. When was that warning going to come true? How soon? The anxiety was driving him (and Foxy honestly) crazy and he knew it wasn't crazy due to how Charlie and Kyle acted! Tommy just didn't see their eyes! They knew something was coming, they knew it was soon and were desperately trying to make it not impact anyone else.
Not even mentioning how it's coming after Kyle directly, specifically them according to William while the others are meant to hide.
To hell with that! Like hell Tyler was going to let something hurt his family without a fight. Foxy felt that too, and Tyler couldn't understand how he just...knew that was the case. It's been happening more frequently, and it's been taking Tyler longer to realize that was weird, but it just… it kinda just felt right to him. In some ways, it felt like Tyler was Foxy and Foxy was Tyler, interchangeable like two parts of the same whole, while other ways made them so different that there wasn't a single way they were related. Tyler shook his head, focusing instead on the present.
Without the kids, this place always seemed to get creepier, the restaurant halls still being somewhat full of the older kids as the sun started setting. Tyler nearly forgot that it was starting to be towards winter with November coming and setting in with a chill in the air. He remembered just how happy Kyle and Tommy were on their birthdays, Tommy looking like he would cry if he could have just from how happy he was to celebrate it while Kyle actually did cry during his.
Tyler suspected that neither thought they would last to their birthdays, and only one had any right to that line of thought, (Even if Tyler should have been that one). The older kids were a lot more subdued than the others, with even that trio of troublemakers having left a good ten minutes ago after their parents came and got them. Turns out all three of their parents were friends and the father of the blond was a troublemaker himself. Tyler suspected the mother as well, but she seemed nice enough. Tyler instead walked back into Pirate's Cove, looking towards Foxy with a somewhat stiff smile.
Neither was sure about the other, or anything that was happening and it showed. They still couldn't help this awkward feeling around the other, even though they knew that nothing bad would happen...and it was mostly Tyler's fault. Tyler was just...terrified. He didn't want to lose himself like he had been, and still had no idea what was going to happen when he truly accepted Foxy as a part of him. He felt like he was drowning, and he knew that Foxy felt exactly the same way.
They were just two pieces of a whole, but the more they circled each other, the more they lost their own parts to the other with no recovery in sight. Foxy merely stared at Tyler as he sat down, neither wanting to fill the silence that much, but hating it just the same. Tyler broke it first, "What do you think? Am I just crazy for... well, for stressing over this so much?" Tyler asked, looking towards Foxy.
"No." Foxy's animatronic reply came, but no explanation followed it. Tyler could see that Foxy wanted to keep talking, the frustration in his eyes apparent even as he waited, but Foxy merely shook his head. Tyler patted his friend's back carefully, making sure not to hit any loose endoskeleton parts again. The two just sat there until Foxy eventually got up and stretched, much like Tyler did a few seconds later to wake up his body.
"Ready to give more stories, 'Captain' Foxy?" Tyler teased as Foxy shook his head.
"We." Foxy said simply with a bit of a glint in his eye, but was unable to add more to the reply, much to Tyler's and Foxy's own annoyance. It was getting annoying trying to discover what Foxy was saying half the time, and even Foxy was hoping that speech would get easier outside of hours here soon.
Tyler hated the fact that he could feel how Foxy felt, mostly just due to the terror that came from that. He sighed, "Do you really want me to join you on storytelling? I can't say I'm that great at it." Foxy nodded, "Alright, alright, but don't say I didn't warn you." Foxy beamed at that while Tyler walked over to the sign and turned it to Open.
It took a bit, (Foxy gave him the stink eye for not announcing that he was open again, since they both knew that was the only reason why it took that long) but people eventually started lining up outside Pirate's Cove, eager to head on in for Story time. Tyler couldn't help feeling a bit nervous, and Foxy's smirk caused Tyler to give him the stink eye as he tried coming up with a story. Foxy patted him on the back this time before nodding, "Aye, kiddies! Who's ready for Story time!?" Foxy's pirate persona came out swinging, which was the cue for Tyler to let everyone into the cove, much to the kids' shouts of 'Me!' Tyler couldn't hold back a feeling of amusement, but it soured a bit at Foxy's glance his way, "Today, I have me a special guest! My old fella, Private Tyler!" He introduced as Tyler got on the stage with a nervous wave to the shocked children.
Tyler looked around, noting the confusion and whispers that rang out as Foxy looked towards him, a silent question in his eyes as Tyler took a deep breath and walked forward, a smile on his face, "A-Aye! Tis I, Private Tyler, back from a mysterious adventure across the high seas! Had it not been for Captain Foxy, I would presume me shark bait!" Tyler called out, catching the attention of his audience once more as Foxy continued with a mighty laugh.
"Yes indeed! Our tale began…" Foxy and Tyler continued telling the tale for quite a while, the details flowing over them as they continued on. Tyler couldn't hold back a grin as he continued on, even making some situations on the spot to keep Foxy on his toes, but Foxy nailed each one and kept on coming. The kids were loving it, even if some called them out on their bullshit, but even they seemed to enjoy the show. Each question kept raising the stakes until the other one would lower it back to a reasonable level. Eventually though, the story had to end and Tyler had scarcely believed the hour was already up, having more ideas of stuff he could have added.
Foxy merely smirked his way, but Tyler merely rolled his eyes as he stretched and looked outside the cove. It was already 9pm, so he didn't expect any kids to really be left given that it was their closing time for the most part, with 9-10 being the time where the last few kids were given a final show from Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Freddy and Golden Freddy on the main stage most of the time. The exact people rotated out each night, given the limitations on stage size, but there were plenty of kids that tried to come for this show, which meant that the guards had to be on their toes, hence the evening guard and Tyler staying to keep watch most of the time.
It helped that his brother also started showing up during this time, meaning that there were three guards watching out for any troublemakers, "Tyler!" Speaking of the devil, Kyle grinned as he ran over towards them, "I was hearing from the children, you make a great 'Private', huh?"
Tyler scoffed, "Says the Golden cookie monster," Tyler replied simply, hearing Foxy snicker at that one while Kyle went beat red, "You have no right to bully me over that."
"T-that was one time! B-besides, I'm the younger brother, it's practically my job to tease you. So, who's the three on stage tonight?" Kyle stuttered as Tyler thought back to the schedule on hand with a small smirk on his face.
"I think it's Bonnie, Chica and Freddy, they wanted to go with the original trio, but Bonnie is taking center stage this time as they're rotating through the next three days. Apparently, it's their anniversary or something." Tyler explained, remembering the flier that was posted around here and there.
"Huh, makes sense. I guess that's why Charlie is in the kitchen 'making' the pizzas." Kyle said, having that sixth sense that Foxy and Tyler were starting to get themselves. Kyle kept trying to say th- Tyler shook his head, knowing that he was going down the exact same line of thought again, and being so absolutely done with it.
"Well, I was just gonna watch the show honestly, maybe grab a drink," Kyle tossed a water bottle his way with a smirk, Tyler scoffed, "Leave it to you to know, but thanks, Kyle."
"No prob, it's nice seeing you two getting along more. So, when's the mar-" Tyler's eye twitched at that dangerously, and Foxy merely stared at the two while making sure his hook was in view, "Alright, alright! Jeez, you two don't need to wish bloody murder on me!"
"And you don't need to be a trolling brat of a brother, but we can't have what we want, can we?" Tyler retorted as Kyle rolled his eyes. Shaking his head, Kyle merely led them to a table.
"Well, would you want a pizza?" Kyle asked with a smirk as Tyler shrugged.
"Sure, I'll take a...hmm, how about a meat lover's pizza?" Tyler asked as Kyle nodded, writing down a list of ingredients pretty quickly before turning the notepad, (When the hell did that get in his hands again?) towards Tyler to look and confirm. In fact, it was exactly what he wanted honestly, he looked towards Foxy who also gave a nod.
"Huh, didn't think you were actually able to eat yet, Foxy."
"Try." Foxy sounded out as Kyle made a sound of understanding.
"That makes more sense, but I recommend waiting a bit longer for that. Wait until you can speak a sentence and then we'll let you eat, it'll be safer than when your repairs get a bit more finalized. Okay?" Kyle suggested as Foxy shook his head.
"I…" He tried to speak and nearly spat out the next word, "Can." Tyler and Kyle's eyes lit up.
"Congrats! You made it two words! That's huge, Foxy!" Tyler said, not caring at all for the crowd that seemed to start looking his way until Bonnie, Henrick if Tyler recalled correctly, grabbed their attention with a guitar solo, ripping a fast chord through the now-otherwise silent restaurant, "Looks like the show's starting." Tyler said as Kyle nodded and walked back into the kitchen with the order. Foxy seemed somewhat exhausted, and Tyler knew it took a lot to get that second word out to begin with. His animatronic self was still screaming at him to stay silent outside of his show schedule, yet Tyler was supposed to coax him out of that to actually speak.
At least, if Tyler understood how it worked anyways, but he wasn't the only 'new' Host by any means; although, that one was at a completely different location now. Yet, Tyler couldn't help feeling happy as he watched the three animatronics sing a brand new song unique for tonight, watching Bonnie using his guitar in full swing, wanting to just sing out all his frustrations and helplessness, while encouraging a message of getting better and that tomorrow was just a step away.
Tyler didn't really pay too much attention to the song, but he could appreciate it in general as the children looked like they were loving it, while the parents were all smiling while waiting on their meals, with Kyle heading back in and out to collect everyone's orders; although, Tyler could tell that he didn't really need to bring the orders back, what with who was doing the pizza orders and all. Tyler looked towards Foxy, who stared back at him and wondered something.
Could he hear Tyler's thoughts? Could Tyler hear Foxy's? How did this Host stuff even work, because it wasn't like there was a guide or anything out about it and Kyle was less than helpful with his descriptions of it. Given that they were able to feel the same stuff, was Foxy feeling Tyler's anxiety about the whole situation? Tyler feeling Foxy's love for telling stories to the children?
Where did one end and the other begin? The question kept pushing up past the other thoughts, and try as he might, Tyler just couldn't escape it. Delay it? Sure, he could still enjoy the moment, but that didn't stop them from happening… Foxy put his paw on Tyler's shoulder, making him look towards Foxy to see him smiling. He tried to speak, but Tyler merely nodded, "I know, Foxy… I know. Thanks." Foxy took a moment before nodding, with the gang just enjoying the show until closing time. It helped when Foxy 'tried' his pizza and Tyler couldn't hold back his laughter at the expression on his friend's face.
Technically, Tyler wasn't allowed in the restaurant at this time, just the animatronics and the night guard. Technically, Tyler didn't give a damn, and it wasn't like the manager could do a thing to stop him staying. Kyle had started keeping a working tally of all the 'overtime hours' just as a slight gag, but Tyler figured that it was also a way to keep the manager in check if he ever threatened anything.
Not like he would, he was practically bursting in business ever since Kyle started working there, and all for very little. Hell, he had even given Kyle a promotion after two weeks when the money came in so much that he couldn't even think to keep Kyle in such a minor role. Instead, Kyle became the Head Night Guard...which was just a fancy title saying it was the same position but paid twice as much. Tyler rolled his eyes at the memory of Tommy laughing when he heard the name of the position before walking on over to the main party hall, seeing Kyle already in the process of cleaning the animatronics up.
Kyle merely tossed over a spray bottle, a rag tied to the nozzle, and Tyler looked at Foxy before cleaning him. Foxy didn't complain, honestly enjoying this if Tyler was correct, and instead pointed Tyler to problem spots in the moments when Tyler wasn't sure what else to clean. After a good half hour of tender loving care, the animatronics were clean and Kyle alongside Bonnie, otherwise known as Henrick, were off to get the playing cards from the main office, which had been expanded a bit alongside with other areas in the restaurant.
"Any bets?" Chica, Cassandra if he recalled the name correctly, asked as Tommy grinned.
"I bet an embarrassing song that Kyle wins at least one match but less than four." Tommy betted as Tyler rolled his eyes, Cassandra looking at him next.
"I bet that Kyle will manage to lose one match by getting caught cheating by Charlie hovering over someone's hand." Tyler said as Tommy deadpanned.
"Hey! No surefire bets! That's cheating!" Tommy protested as Tyler smirked.
"And when was that a rule?" Tyler snarked while Tommy tried in vain to protest until Cassandra simply shrugged and allowed both bets, "You're still ten years too early to bet against me, Tommy." Tyler grinned.
"Hey! We got the cards, so what game are we up for tonight?" Kyle said, waving the playing card box towards them. Tyler thought a moment before smiling.
"Let's keep it simple tonight, Go Fish?" Tyler suggested. The rest of the animatronics merely shrugged, not really having any alternatives themselves for the most part.
"How about poker? It's been a few nights since we've played that." Tommy suggested as Henrick groaned.
"No, no. The last time we played that, Charlie wiped us all clean!"
"But that was Kyle-"
"That's the same thing, Tommy!"
"He's not wrong to be fair…" Tyler added in while Cassandra nodded in agreement.
Kyle and Charlie merely looked smug off to the side while everyone gave them the stink eye. Neither much cared for the glances, but merely shared a high five that Tyler wasn't entirely sure that anyone else saw. Tyler sighed as Cassandra was next to suggest a game, "How about Blackjack?"
Henrick merely pointed to Tyler this time, "Foxy and Tyler have been on fire with that game anytime we play it. Both of them know exactly when to stop drawing, it's insane."
"Hey, that's not-" Tyler tried to protest but Tommy snorted.
"He's not wrong, you've yet to lose a single game of Blackjack that you otherwise could have won, we checked the cards and you also stop drawing before you bust, regardless of how we shuffle it."
The list of games went on, with each and every one being brought up before being shot down due to any one of them being way too good at it. Tyler wasn't the only one that groaned at that, even Tommy, as patient as he is, was getting annoyed.
"Fine, Go Fish, let's do it just so we don't waste the two hours we have left." Tommy said as Kyle blanked and began cleaning up alongside Charlie. Henrick sighed in relief as Tyler realized that they suggested so many games to get them out. Tyler couldn't help feeling a tad annoyed at that, but said nothing as Cassandra dealt out the cards to everyone before grabbing some herself.
"Got any 2s?" Tyler asked Henrick who shook his head. Tyler sighed before grabbing a card, and then putting the four twos as a book in front of him, "Thanks." Henrick gave Tyler the stink eye before going next.
"Got any 1s?" Tyler winced a bit as he gave away both of his 1s, which led to Henrick putting down a book of his own. "Any 4s?" He asked Casandra, who shook her head.
This went on for a few hours, with the grand total being 2 wins from Henrick, a really close win from Cassandra, three wins from Tommy and a tie between him and Foxy at the very end, three wins and a tie from Foxy, and four wins from Tyler. Needless to say, Henrick was not pleased, but Tyler merely shrugged as the 6am bell rang.
All in all, just a normal standard day, (night?) at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, Tyler had to say that he loved the lifestyle that he lived now, but even then, he knew that it wouldn't last forever. It was already November 17th and there was only a week until his birthday, and that was a can of worms he didn't want to open.
Tyler hated his birthday, but he merely shook off the thought. Foxy looked at him, concerned as Tyler merely sighed and gave a slight smile. They didn't know why, Tommy and Kyle never would if Tyler had his way, but he can at least try making brand new memories to replace the other ones. All in all...the normality of this life wasn't to last.
