Dean and his sketchy doctor was going to kill us. Why well we needed to talk to Death. So we were going to die for 3 minutes. We needed to talk to Death.
We were dead so Dean spoke Latin a spell. All of a sudden Tessa appeared. She said Dean. Dean said it worked. Tessa said I was in the Sudan what's with yanking me? Wait why are you dead? Dean said I need a favor. Tessa said you died to ask me? Dean said tell your boss I need to talk to him. Tessa said no. Dean said please. Tessa said where do you get the nerve? Dean said desperate times. Tessa said he calls us we don't call him. Dean said make an exception. Tessa said I can't. Dean said can't or won't. Tessa said both. All of a sudden a voice said all right Tessa thank you very much. I turned around to see Death. He said hello Dean Lillian. Death said I'm busy Dean talk fast. Dean said I have something of yours. Death said my ring I remember loaning you that temporarily. Dean said well if you want it back then. Death said I'm sorry you assume I don't know where you've hidden it now that we've established that you have hubris but no leverage what is it you want? Dean said Lucifers cage I figure you're one of the few people that can actually jailbreak it. Death said do you? Dean said Sam's soul is stuck in that box. Death said I've heard. Dean said and our other brother is trapped too Michael rode him in. Death said Dean stop shuffling and deal. Dean said I want you to get them both out. Death said hmm pick one. Dean said what. Death said Sam's soul or Adam's? Dean said but. Death said as a rule I don't bring people back I might make an exception once not twice so pick. Dean said Sam his soul has been in there for a year and I understand that it's damaged. Death said try flayed to the raw nerve. Dean said is there anyway you could uh hack the hell part off. Death said Dean Dean Dean what do you think the soul is? Some pie you can slice? The soul can be bludgeoned tortured but never broken not even by me. Dean said well there's gotta be something. Death said maybe can't erase Sam's hell but I can put it behind a wall if you will. Dean said a wall. Death said in his mind a dam to hold back the tide you don't want to know what those memories will do to him believe me. Dean said ok a wall sounds good. Tessa said but it's not permanent. Death said she's right nothing lasts forever well I do but. I smiled at that. Dean said so that's the choice Sam with no soul or Sam with some drywall that if or when it collapses he's done? Death said yeah. Dean said do it. Death said I never said I'd do it. Dean said then what the hell have we been talking about? Death said your prize if you win the water. Dean said great what's the bet? Death don't roll your eyes Dean it's impolite. Now when you fetch my ring Lily will put it on. Dean said what? Death said I want Lily to be me for a day and you'll watch her. I said are you serious? Death looked at me and said no I'm being incredibly sarcastic. Death said take the ring off before the 24 hours are up and you lose no soul for Sam clear? I said ok yes but but why? Death said simple Lily because. We were brought back to life. Dean said you couldn't have given us five more seconds. The doctor said you were dead for 7 minutes.
We told Bobby and Sam Sam didn't like the idea at all. I said well I'm doing it so bye. I said come on Dean you get to watch me be Death. Dean said oh fun. I said I wonder why he wants me to do it and not you? Dean said who knows with him.
Well after I killed a little girl and that nurse messing everything up I couldn't do it anymore. I said Dean I'm sorry but I can't I can't do it. Dean said Lily please. I said sorry Dean it's to much. I took off the ring and went back to my house with Dean. Dean needed a place to stay for the night.
We walked into my living room and saw Death. Death said Lillian Dean. I held the ring in my hand. Death said heavier then it looks isn't it? Sometimes you just want the thing off but you know that. I said look I think you know I failed so there oh and by the way I sucked at being you I screwed up the whole natural order thing but I'm sure you knew about that too. I was looking at the ground but I could feel death staring at me. Death said so if you could go back would you simply kill the little girl? I said knowing what I know now yes. Death said I'm surprised surprised and glad. I said yeah don't get excited I would've saved the nurse okay? That's it. Death said I think it's a little more then that today you got a hard look behind the curtain wrecking the natural order is not quite such fun when you have to mop up the mess is it? This is hard for you Lily you throw away your life because you've come to assume that it'll bonce back into your lap same goes for you dean. The human soul is not a rubber ball it's vulnerable impermanent but stronger than you know and more valuable than you can imagine. So I think you've learned something today. Wanna know what I think? I think you knew that I wouldn't last a day. Death said I have no idea what your talking about. I said I lost fine but at least have the balls to admit that if was rigged from the start. Death said yes I'm the only being who gets one why I have no clue maybe because I live forever but I've been searching for a long time and the moment I saw you Lillian I knew you were my soulmate. Dean said alright Lily your the soulmate of one of the most powerful beings alive. I said shut up Dean. Death said I'm going to go to hell to get your brothers soul. Dean said why would you do that for me? Death said I wouldn't do it for you. You and your brother keep coming back your an affront to the balance of the universe and you cause disruption on a global scale. Dean said I apologize for that. Death said but you have use right now you're digging at something the intrepid detective I want the both of you to keep digging. Dean said so you just going to be cryptic or? Death said it's about the souls you'll understand when you need to. He was about to put on the ring when Dean said wait. Dean said with Sam is this wall thing really going to work? Death said call it seventy five percent. I said wait a second. I got up and gave him a quick kissed on the lips. I said stop by tomorrow so we can talk some more. Death smirked and said of course darling. He put the ring on and left. Dean said you just kissed Death as in Death. I said your besties a bad ass live with it. Dean said fuck yeah you are.
Well Sam got his soul back. He was resting now. So I went back to my house and went to bed.
