They entered the classroom and for once Minerva's ire was not directed at Harry at all but at Ronald Weasley instead. It would seem his brothers had done something wrong and as she'd not been able to find them to punish them he was on the receiving end of her ire instead. "I'm not my brother's ma'am and I don't know where they are either. I am sorry for whatever they did though as I know they can be kind of mean!" he said as she reeled almost as though she'd been slapped.
"I will not be made fun of in my own lesson. Ten points from Ravenclaw or whichever house you're in!" she snapped not even looking at him. Filius was in his office when his point counter lost ten points and immediately regained them. He frowned deeply as his log showed him Minerva had tried to take ten points from a student she'd assumed was in his house who wasn't. He chuckled even though he knew he shouldn't have. It was amusing after all. Ron was stunned he'd lost points as was Pomona who was also in her office when he'd lost them but she'd discuss them with him later on. She always liked her puffs to explain to her why they lost the points they did so she could understand that they understood why they were wrong in the first place and learned from it. Today was not a good day as Quirrel was all over the shop in his lesson and couldn't seem to keep his focus on any one thing. It was very annoying indeed. Draco had freaked out in Transfigurations when Hermione was the first to get the spell they were learning naturally. He'd been about to do something when a thin blue beam shot out from somewhere he didn't see and pinned him to the seat in a way which was aggressive but caused no actual pain.
"What on earth have you done Draco? Please stop it!" Sallyanne shouted at him terror evident on her face as the beam which had come from Harry in protection of his soulmate went away. Minerva looked up in terror herself.
"You will all explain yourselves at once and I swear to Merlin no one leaves this room until I know more!" she snapped as Harry, Hermione, Draco and Sallyanne locked eyes all becoming very wide eyed as the truth hit them. Draco seemed to be struggling with something internal which Harry couldn't determine when suddenly a shield was around him and he screamed his head off. Minerva watched in awe as he quite literally freaked out but she couldn't hear a thing and neither could anyone else. She went to lock her door when it was flung open by magic and she couldn't close it anymore. She was absolutely furious and turned to scream at Ron only to find him underneath his table with his hands on his head looking terrified. Damn him to hell. She couldn't blame him for this if he was quite clearly hiding from whatever this was. The magic in the air was quite literally stifling. It was very tense until an emotional Hermione told Sallyanne she wouldn't harm him. Minerva looked freaked out as she had no understanding of what was going on but as soon as Hermione had spoken and touched Harry on the arm the tension left the room as soon as it had entered it. She wasn't even focused on Harry at this point as she was too busy staring at Draco who seemed to have remembered where he was all of a sudden.
"Professor I apologise I didn't realise what I would be dealing with and needed to protect myself and you. Don't punish Weasley either for things he didn't do as that makes you no better than a vile bully and I'm sure you wouldn't want that!" he said seriously as she further reeled.
"Why on earth do you care about Weasley?" she screamed irritated that everyone everywhere she went recently seemed to think he mattered more than others or so it appeared and she was quite frankly over it.
"I care because my father did something bad to their family and I am most certainly not proud of it. I strive to be better than he ever was and you should want to be good too. It really is the best!" he said seriously.
"Detention Mr Malfoy for trying to tell me how to feel and or run my lesson. If Professor Flitwick tries to tell you anything about this kindly remind him that it is my lesson and that I shall run it as I see fit. It's not his lesson and he needs to butt out!" she snapped inappropriately bringing her problem with Professor Flitwick out of the staff room and into her classroom. He would be furious with her later but she didn't care. The fact of the matter is Ronan Weasley or whatever his name was, was not Harry Potter and would never matter. Why was everyone so hung up over someone so ordinary? He wasn't special in any way and she was so over everyone acting like he was simply because he wasn't a Gryffindor like the rest of his family. She was about to continue when her door which had closed was now flung open by an irate Percy Weasley who glared hard at his youngest brother and looked at Minerva in a strange way.
"I apologise for interrupting your lesson Professor but we need to talk!" he said approaching her as she put a silencing and privacy charm around them after telling everyone to read chapter two of their books whilst they talked.
"Yes Mr Weasley what seems to be the problem?" she asked carefully trying not to sound already over whatever it was he needed to tell her.
"My youngest brother Ronald ma'am!" he snapped as she reeled.
"Oh I always thought his name was Ronan. Anyway yes what about him? What has he done now?" she asked sounding and looking very tired.
"Well because he's not in Gryffindor with his family where he belongs I am being mocked and targeted. No one takes me seriously because he's a duffer and it makes doing my prefects job so very hard. Professor Dendani has suggested I give up my role if it's that hard but I'll die before I do that. I will be the one member of my family to actually achieve something worth discussing. I need you to convince Ronald anyway you can to ask for a resorting!" he snapped as she looked stunned.
"Mr Weasley for someone who studies so much you've clearly not read the rules lately. It is forbidden for any member of staff or student alike to use magic to coerce someone to ask for a resorting. I will not do that because you are suffering now. You know it's not very brave to want to give up because people cannot handle that he made a different choice. The question I have is why everyone cares so much when Harry Potter is the important one who wasn't in Gryffindor. I am continuously disgusted he wasn't in Gryffindor!" she snapped. Percy reeled back tears of frustration in his eyes.
"Yes well I don't have to live with Harry Potter but I do have to live with Ronald Weasley in the summer time and no one thinks of how him not being in Gryffindor is making my life hell. No one ever cares about me and quite frankly I'm over it. Telling me to simply give up on my life's dream of being head boy is unacceptable now if you can't do anything about Ronald you need to speak to Professor Dendani and tell him in no uncertain terms to stop asking me to quit being a prefect over their nastiness. It's your job as deputy to deal with the staff here!" he snapped as she looked at him seriously.
"Mr Weasley I've been over much recently myself and in all honesty I just don't care. Yes I am aware I probably should but I'm just so busy I don't have time to care about your quite frankly stupid problem. If they cannot handle your brother's placement then this is a reflection on them and not you. You can always take points off them until they learn to shut up or something I'm not sure. I will be sure to talk to Professor Dendani about why you're bothering me instead of him. Please leave my lesson now Mr Weasley" she said dismissively as his angry tears spilled from his eyes and he ran from the room.
"Weasley 20 points from Hufflepuff for having useless family members who insist on being a pain in the arse! Class dismissed!" she said. As they exited the room both Ron and Harry were suddenly grabbed and knew nothing but darkness. What on earth was going on? What a mess!
