On the way back up Arthur and Amelia stopped to look at Fluffy and Amelia gasped. "This is a top grade level forbidden dark creature. Where on earth did Albus did get it? Luckily for us this one is dead. Arthur you must know what happens when a dead animal is found. The ones who find it are entitled to sell on the body to the goblins for processing. We will arrange that in a while but for now Albus will answer for this atrocity. He clearly didn't think about this thing escaping and possibly killing the kids!" she said as he gasped really loudly.
"But that's a hell hound one of our world's most dangerous creatures. I'll send a patronus to the board of Governors as they need to see this and we need to decide if he should still be here!" he said sending his patronus off. He was stunned as they all arrived but far sooner than they should have. They entered and seemed thrilled to see him.
"Oh good Arthur we were going to call you. We're not all that sure what is wrong with Albus but he's asked us to find a way to expel your son Ronald because apparently he's a magnet for danger and we wouldn't want someone like that in our school. What on earth is that? EXPLAIN YOURSELF AT ONCE!" Augusta screamed having not seen Madam Bones at first.
"This Madam Longbottom is why we called you here. Albus was housing this creature in a school full of children where it could have gotten out at any point and killed any of them. We are just wondering if you feel he should still be the headmaster here? This is the true danger here!" Amelia snapped as everyone gasped at now seeing her there. The governors all shook their heads in disbelief at what they were seeing. The Goblins were called to harvest the Cerberus. They were thrilled to get the opportunity. They negotiated a great price and one that Arthur had not seen coming. This money would truly change his life way more than the money he'd gotten from the Lucius situation already had. With that money he'd been generous with all of his kid's bar Percy who hadn't deserved any because he'd spent his whole time blaming Ron for everything and everyone else for all other problems he'd had. He needed Percy to learn empathy and kindness and until then he'd get nothing from him. Augusta was genuinely frightened by the presence of the Cerberus especially in a school where her own grandson was attending. This literally made her see red.
"I have no idea what he was smoking when he okayed this animal being stored in the school but this ends now. The madness ends here! I think it's time for our dear old headmaster to retire!" she thundered as the other board members agreed with her. To be honest they were all stunned he'd have agreed to this and whether he was the one who put the animal there or not was not actually the point. The point is he likely knew a dangerous animal of some sort was there and did nothing about it. A contract was drafted and signed by all the board members for him to be fired effective immediately. They walked through the school a united front on show.
When they entered his office he was not alone. Minerva was there discussing their budget with him and gasped at the sight of all the board members there.
"Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore you are hereby fired effective immediately. We found your dangerous beast and obstacle course not to mention your ridiculous stone. How dare you hold a Cerberus in a school my grandson was attending? You have two hours to get your stuff together and then get out!" Augusta snapped throwing the stone at him as he grabbed it and screamed.
"This is not the real stone. What on earth have you done with the true Philosophers stone? You can't just steal that! Do you have any idea what danger you've put us all in? You can't fire me! The whole board needs to sign!" he thundered.
"We did sign Albus. You put the students here at risk for no good reason and a student was kidnapped while here at school and you had to hear about it from someone else. That doesn't say much about you now does it!" Margaret Abbot said in rage making him reel. Minerva reeled as well but not for the same reason.
"But Albus I told Hagrid to get rid of the hellhound and that it was illegal for him to have it. I even told him if he didn't get rid of it I'd go to the DMLE about him. He assured me he'd gotten rid of it. I cannot believe you allowed him to store it in the school. This is dangerous and you do deserve to lose your job for that. Who will be the new headmaster of the school?" she asked as they all looked around confused. None of them had thought of that.
"For now Hogwarts will have only a vice headmistress. We will find a new headmaster in a few days once we can find the right candidate. Don't worry within the week Minerva; we will have a new headmaster for you!" Margaret responded with certainty. It was horrified and stunned Albus who was literally thrown out of the school two hours later. No one wanted to hear his protests about the stone being a fake one and how dangerous the situation now was. He was of the assumption that Voldemort had now gotten the stone and would cause havoc later on at a time of his choice. Harry Potter was now in even more danger then he ever would have been otherwise. He'd need to find a way to control Harry outside the school. At least he could control what Harry did during the holidays. He'd need to force himself on Harry at that time and force training on him sooner rather than later. He'd been lax where Harry was concerned and now Voldemort had the stone. They were all doomed.
He'd need to tell everyone he could find that Voldemort was back and what's more he'd need to tell Nicholas that Voldemort had stolen the stone from him which he was not looking forward to. Nicholas never told Albus that he'd imbibed his own magic into the stone so that if you wanted to make the elixir of life he'd need to be the one to do it. Essentially this just meant that whoever did have the stone would gain loads of money and nothing more. This should comfort Albus but probably wouldn't. That evening at the feast Minerva told the whole school that Albus Dumbledore was no longer their headmaster after he'd been fired for doing dangerous things in the school. She told them that they'd have a new headmaster at the end of the week.
The whole great hall was abuzz with this information. Harry himself was stunned to hear this having not seen it coming. Severus had decided to teach his classes fairly and properly and so far the opinion on Potions class had only improved. Severus never realised how negative he truly was until someone showed him. He now found teaching to be a joy and the room of requirement provided him any way of destressing he needed so he was less prone to jump to bouts of irrational anger. Now if someone messed up in his class he explained why they were wrong in a normal tone of voice before sending them off to the hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey had noticed a lot less people coming to see her due to potions accidents as well so she'd been able to dedicate some time to renovating her hospital wing. She was painting it a new colour and getting some new beds delivered later in the week. She wanted her hospital wing to become more comfortable for the students who used it regularly.
When she heard that Dumbledore had been fired she was devastated and cried because he'd gone so low down in her estimation. How could he have held a hell hound in the school where it seriously could have killed children? This baffled the mind completely. Was he so star struck by the presence of Harry Potter in the school that he was now doing random things without thought? She then remembered what he'd told the students at the start of the year about staying away from that corridor. He'd known it was there and warned them to stay away in such a way that more students than ever wanted to know what was on that corridor. This wasn't even linked solely to Gryffindor either. Many Slytherin students had tried to battle the sick curse as students had started calling it. It had resulted in many people getting sick and everyone was baffled by it as no one had died as he said they would, they'd just been sick. If they'd managed to go further they may have found the Cerberus. This was madness. He was a dear old friend to her and for him to have turned this reckless was scary and worrying. He seemed to have stopped caring about safety any longer and it was scary.
The staff had all noticed how improved Severus had been and were of the opinion that if he could improve so could anyone else. It actually made most of them closer. Minerva was absolutely furious that because he had now changed no one complained about him any longer. She'd already given Ron two detentions for being ridiculous which Filius had said he'd be covering which she was thrilled with as she didn't need to cover them herself. In reality Ron had never done those detentions but was asked to tell her he had if she ever asked him about it which she never did as she didn't care all that much. Albus was still determined to control Harry and everything he did he'd just be doing it now during the holidays instead of at school. Harry would tow the damn line if he had anything to say about it and his studious soldier would fight Voldemort again and win. He'd fight him thousands of times if Albus said he should. He was absolutely furious he'd been fired and felt exceptionally indignant. The minister of magic would be hearing about this!
