Chapter 1: Chapter 1

The air was crisp and the forest was actually quiet beautiful.

Major Evan Lorne lead his team through the openly wooded area. With the group was Doctor Radek Zelenka and Doctor Carson Beckett. They were all tasked with checking out a strange beacon coming from a planet with a space-gate orbiting it. Why Colonel John Sheppard's team was not assigned to this mission, purely rested on Doctor Rodney McKay's insistence that their skills were better put to another mission. What that was exactly, Rodney never explained. Doctor Beckett was always scheduled to leave with whatever team was going out. He was itching to get back out and help the peoples of the Pegasus Galaxy. This was the first mission in a while in which was not so fast paced and everyone could actually relax for once. Even Zelenka admitted, as much as he preferred not to go off world, this place was actually nice, minus the fact that more than likely got duped into it, feeling like the 'B-team' as McKay would put it.

Trekking though the woods, none of them really said a word, just taking in the scenery. That was until a rustling could be heard in the distance. One of the Lieutenant's stood on guard.

"Woah." Major Lorne motioned. He pointed to a small rabbit like creature that jumped from an adjacent bush. He smiled. "It's just a rabbit Reeds. Relax."

As they turned to proceed a group of fully masked bandits surrounded them. They wore all black, what looked to be paint-ball like goggled masks and bandanas covering their mouths, and of course wielding some very nasty looking weapons.

"Oh, crap." Carson said aloud, pulling his sidearm, as Lorne's team raised their weapons to address the possible assailants. Radek ducked behind one of the soldiers.

"Lower your weapons." One of the bandits demanded.

"How about you lower yours first?" Lorne said sternly. There was a moment pause before another assailant stepped in.

"Major Lorne?" The intervening assailant spoke. The major shifted his grip a little on his P-90.

"How do you know my name?" Lorne asked concerned.

"The same how I know Doctor Beckett and Doctor Zelenka." The assailant continued. Carson and Radek shot each other a concerned look of confusion. The assailant removed the mask and bandana. Carson and Radek's eyes grew wide with disbelief. Lorne lowered his weapon slightly. He too could not believe who was now standing in front of him.

"Hey guys, took you long enough." Lieutenant Aiden Ford stood there with the biggest grin on his face. He appeared to be cure or at least free from the affects of the Wraith enzyme. Both eyes clear and full of life...
