Author's Note: Part 3 is here! I've added another character mainly because I love this girl and in a weird way I think her and Hope (without her humanity) would work well together.

In answer to your questions BarakTheSlayer, will it be the end...? I can't say for sure, I might get other ideas to continue so you'll have to wait and see ;) and this is the exact same plot for the story to follow.

Let me know what you think by leaving a review and enjoy!

Chapter Three:

Did You Think You Were The Only One?

Hope's arm was slung across someone's waist as she stirred that night.

The red satin sheets were bunched up and didn't really do much to cover either of the women on the bed.

Hope's eyes opened and she frowned at the dimly lit room.

She felt a hand stroke her hair gently.

"Well hello there, little bird."

Hope sighed and then slowly sat up, keeping her back to Aurora as she scrubbed at her face.

Aurora gently ran her fingertips down Hope's bare shoulder blade.

"What woke you?" She asked gently.

Hope threw back the covers and got up.

"You did." She muttered even though that wasn't true. Hope was just annoyed by her, even if she was a good lay.

Aurora chuckled.

"I highly doubt that. I was just laying here watching you. You're so beautiful when you're sleeping, do you know that?"

Hope rolled her eyes and put on her underwear and searched for her top.

"Have you seen my top?"

Aurora reached behind her head and pulled the flimsy black piece of material out from the headboard, dangling it in front of her face.

Hope let out a frustrated breath.

"What's it doing there?" She asked, snatching it from the red head.

Aurora grinned devilishly.

"I believe you wanted to use it to tie me up?"

Hope put the top on and grabbed her pants, sitting on the edge of the bed to pull them on.

Aurora crawled up behind her like a cat and pressed a kiss to the side of her neck.

Hope's jaw clenched.

"You don't seem very happy with me, my love. Have I done something wrong?"

"I'm not your love."

"Sorry, slip of the tongue." Aurora said but she didn't sound sorry at all.

The red head's hands rested on Hope's shoulders as she reared up behind her on her knees.

"I am so very glad that you came to me last night. I thought because of all our complicated history that you wouldn't even give me a second glance."

Hope shrugged as she grabbed an ankle boot and put it on.

"Normally I wouldn't."

"So why did you?"

"I was frustrated and you were willing, seemed like a good idea at the time."

"And now?"

Hope turned around, her eyes slightly wide in anger.

"Now? If I'd have known you were gonna be this needy after sex I would've picked someone else."

Aurora chuckled and then moved so that she was back to laying propped up against the headboard.

"Needy? Darling, I'm just expressing my gratitude for a night of great sex. I never said I wanted to marry you."

Hope ignored her and put on the other boot.

Aurora looked her up and down.

"Shall we do this again sometime?"

Hope shrugged.

"Maybe."

Aurora's eyes narrowed but she was still smirking.

"Just like your father; very non-committal."

Hope gave her a tight smile.

"Hm. I got places to be." Hope said as she grabbed her jacket and headed for the door.

"Do come back when you realise the witch is too scared to let you bed her."

Hope froze and slowly turned around, a deep frown on her face.

Aurora grinned.

"You like to talk in your sleep, little bird."

Hope's fangs threatened to appear and rip the red head's throat out but she clenched her fist at her side and left Aurora's room without another word.

Lizzie paced backwards and forwards in her room, wringing her hands.

Hope had rejected her.

She'd told the tribrid to stay away the first time but then that last encounter...oh, she had been oh so willing and Hope had just walked away?

Lizzie made a disgusted noise in the back of her throat and and walked over to her mirror.

A photo of the three of them; Lizzie, Josie and Hope was stuck under the wood looking back at her.

Lizzie pulled it free and smiled at the photo. They were all smiling, Hope too which was a rarity but when she smiled...she had the most beautiful smile Lizzie had ever seen. It's a shame she didn't get to see it more.

Lizzie touched Hope's face gently with her fingertips and sighed.

"Why won't you leave my mind?" She whispered.

"Why won't who leave your mind?"

Lizzie spun around, hiding the photograph behind her back as MG gave her a look.

"Uh..no one. No one at all."

He pointed at her.

"What's that you've got behind your back then?"

Lizzie backed up a few steps; afraid that MG would use his vampire speed and grab it from her.

"N-nothing."

MG smirked.

"Lizzie, I know when you're lying. You've been acting strange for a while now and I just- I wanna help."

Lizzie let out a breath and instantly deflated.

MG had been nothing but a good friend to her-a friend who wanted to be more than a friend-but still a friend. She shouldn't have to hide anything from him; if anyone knew anything about unrequited love, it was him.

Hanging her head, Lizzie held the photo out to him.

MG took it and looked down, a small smile crossing his own features.

"I remember this; you guys were at the lake for the summer."

Lizzie nodded but she didn't smile at the memory. Not anymore anyway.

MG's own smile faded.

"You miss Josie."

Lizzie nodded.

"I do but it's not just that."

MG handed the photo back to her and frowned a little.

"Then...what is it?"

"It's Hope."

"Hope?"

"I can't stop thinking about her, MG. I think about where she is, what she's doing...who she's doing it with-"

MG held up his hands.

"Woah, wait a sec; you like Hope. As in like her, like her?"

Lizzie bit her bottom lip and nodded.

MG whistled and brushed a hand over his afro.

"Wow, well that's just...I mean I never thought that you'd-"

"Yeah, neither did I." Lizzie muttered, cutting off his sentence.

She sat down heavily on her bed, looking miserable.

"What am I going to do?"

MG sighed and walked over, sitting down beside her.

"I wish I had an answer for you, Lizzie but Hope...right now, she's not our Hope and I don't know that she ever will be."

Lizzie nodded in agreement.

"But how do I stop feeling like this?"

MG gave her a bittersweet smile.

"You don't. You just...wait for it to fade."

Lizzie looked at him, her eyes full of hope.

"And does it?"

MG looked deep into Lizzie's eyes and shook his head.

"Not in my experience."

Lizzie suddenly felt guilty. She wished she could feel about MG like he did about her but there had always been very little between them, on her end anyway.

"See? Why can't I just go out with a nice, normal-well ok not normal-but you know what I mean. Why can't I just find someone nice and not evil to date?"

MG shrugged but he was smiling.

"You can't help who you love, Lizzie."

"Maybe if I dated someone else, Hope wouldn't be on my mind so much."

MG nodded.

"It's...a good theory."

Lizzie turned to him.

"Would you date me?" She asked, suddenly full of enthusiasm.

MG gave her a half smile.

"You know I would but I-"

"Great! Then we'll do that and I'll be so busy dating you that I won't have time to think about Hope Mikaelson!"

Sometimes Lizzie really didn't think about other people's feelings and this was one of those times.

But MG loved her, would do anything for her to help her and so with a bittersweet smile and a nod, he agreed.

Hope wouldn't go near the Salvatore school. She wouldn't go within touching distance of it but no one said that she couldn't walk around the town she'd become accustomed to.

It was early evening and Hope watched as people walked about without a care in the world. If she'd had her way, all these people would be cowering in fear at the sight of her but things hadn't quite gone to plan and only a few- the few of the supernatural variety- stayed out of her way.

A restaurant sat on the corner of the street; it's lights dim to create a cosy, intimate atmosphere. Tables and chairs outside were painted white and each one had a single red rose on it. If Hope didn't know better, she'd say it was Valentine's day but they must have a couple's special on or something.

Hope looked at the couples who were busy gazing into each other's eyes while they talked, sipped wine and ate some ridiculously over-priced food.

Pathetic humans who just wanted a connection. It brought a scowl to Hope's face. She hoped she never felt like that; that she needed someone to complete her, to make her feel like she wasn't totally alone in this world.

She could easily blow the windows out of the place; send the couples running and screaming; that would be fun to watch, Hope realised as a grin appeared on her lips.

Hope uncurled her hands, preparing a spell that would shatter every glass object in the shitty little restaurant but then she stopped.

She faltered and she made her hands into fists again.

Was that Lizzie and...MG?

Anger flared inside Hope and what annoyed her more than anything was that even without her humanity, Hope still felt something.

She knew MG had always had a thing for Lizzie but Lizzie hadn't really been serious about him so why now? And especially after Hope had rejected her.

She should be back in her dorm room, crying into a bowl of ice cream while she watched some sappy rom com, she shouldn't be here...not with him.

She watched them for a few minutes more.

Lizzie laughed at something MG said and he took her hand, kissing her knuckles.

"Oh that's it." Hope growled under her breath.

She strode across the street and walked right up to both of them.

MG looked up, fear in his dark eyes but Lizzie, she just sat there, looking unperturbed.

Hope gave him a sharp smile.

"MG." She said by way of greeting.

MG's smile was shaky.

"Hope." He managed to mutter.

Hope then turned her attention to Lizzie.

"Having a nice evening?"

Lizzie gave her a lazy smile.

"The best."

Hope's eyes flicked between MG and Lizzie and then down at their half empty plates.

"Is the food good here?"

Lizzie nodded.

"Better than I thought it'd be."

Hope grabbed a free chair and put it next to the table.

"Great. Maybe I'll join you."

Hope sat down without waiting for an invitation.

MG pulled his hand back from Lizzie's and licked his lips nervously.

"So...Hope, how's things?"

Hope snapped her head in his direction.

"Never been better and you? How's this," She waved her finger between the two of them, "-new development going?"

Lizzie gave her a megawatt smile but MG seemed to curl in on himself.

"It's great. MG is such a lovely guy."

"Is that right?" Hope asked, tilting her head,

"Because I can remember a time when you couldn't wait for him to leave you alone, or am I remembering that wrong, Lizzie?"

A muscle in the blonde's jaw twitched.

"I think you're mistaken. I just think my feelings for MG were buried...that's all."

Hope raised her eyebrows as she took Lizzie's wine glass and took a sip.

"Buried deep then." She muttered into the glass.

Lizzie snatched the glass back.

"Why are you here, Hope?"

Hope sat back, looking at both of them with that sickly sweet smile.

"I just wanted to see how two of my oldest friends were doing. Is that so wrong?"

MG shook his head.

"Nope- no I think I think it's-it's very nice of you to check in on us...like this."

Hope shrugged as she looked at Lizzie once again.

"See, MG doesn't mind me being here."

"Maybe I do." Lizzie snapped.

Hope lent forward, her elbows on the table as she put her face right in front of Lizzie's.

"Why?"

Lizzie couldn't help but glance at Hope's lips, remembering when they'd kissed and how good it'd been.

Hope grinned at her and the witch stood, grabbing the tribrid's arm. MG winced at what Lizzie had done but amazingly, Hope was letting her lead her away.

"Give us a sec." Lizzie muttered to MG as she dragged Hope away from the table and out of earshot.

Hope gently pulled herself out of Lizzie's grasp.

"You know if you'd been anyone else, you would've lost that hand."

Lizzie looked a little unsure, as if it was only now that she'd realised what she'd done.

"Why are you here, Hope?" She asked, folding her arms.

"I told you-"

"Yeah ok, MG might've bought that little story but I don't."

Hope just shrugged but said nothing more.

"Did you come here to check on me?" Lizzie asked and she hated that she sounded like she would be pleased if that was exactly what Hope was here for.

Hope arched an eyebrow at her.

"Please, you think I'm here for you?"

Lizzie suddenly felt very stupid.

"Well I...I don't know, maybe you-"

"Maybe I what? You think I came here to see if you were already with someone else? You think I care about you that much?"

Lizzie swallowed Hope's cruel words.

Hope walked towards Lizzie.

"Do you want to know where I've been for the past few months?"

Lizzie rubbed at her arms, she wasn't sure that she wanted to but at the same time she did want to know what Hope had been doing.

It looked like Hope was about to tell her anyway.

"I've been around, slaking my thirst, killing anyone who thinks they can beat me. I've even turned a few enemies into allies."

Lizzie frowned and it made Hope grin.

"And while I've been doing that, I also haven't been alone. I always had someone waiting in my bed when I was done."

Lizzie closed her eyes.

The thought of someone else touching Hope, loving her, it was too much for Lizzie to handle and she turned her back.

Unfortunately, Hope was here to inflict as much pain as possible on the witch.

"She was a lot more willing than you were and she had reasons to say no to me...but she didn't."

Lizzie frowned but Hope continued;

"I wouldn't have blamed her, most people would shy away at the fact that they were bedding the daughter of their former lover."

Lizzie felt sick and she turned around to see that the grin had never left Hope's face.

"You can't...you can't mean..."

"Aurora De Martel? Yes, the same vampire who conspired to kill my father."

Lizzie felt tears behind her eyes.

Where was the Hope she used to know? She so desperately wanted her back.

"I'm leaving." Lizzie said as she turned to walk away.

"Did you really think you were the only one, Lizzie? The only one I wanted?" Hope laughed and Lizzie's heart broke. She reckoned that if she listened hard enough, she would have heard it shatter in her chest.

Suddenly, Lizzie's legs wouldn't support her and she fell to her knees.

Even Hope seemed surprised by her reaction but she crouched down in front of the witch.

"See? I knew MG was just a distraction. It's me you want. No point in trying to deny it."

Hope was right, Lizzie realised.

She would always be right about that and just that knowledge was enough to make Lizzie do something about it.

All the emotion that the tribrid had caused to stir in her suddenly and very quickly, came to the surface. Lizzie let it, feeling it meld with her power and without warning, she unleashed it on Hope. Red smoke shot out of her and into Hope, it held her suspended in mid air, threatening to crush her, to tear her in two but instead, Lizzie used it to smother the tribrid's own powers and when Hope stopped fighting, when Lizzie felt her weakening, she snapped the tribrid's neck.

The red smoke disappeared as it dropped Hope's body to the ground.

MG came running over and looked down at Hope as she lay prone on the sidewalk.

"What did you do?"

Lizzie straightened.

"What I needed to do all along. Take her. Bring her back to the school and lock her up. She's gonna be pissed when she wakes up."

Author's Note: Oh you know there's gonna be a part 4!
