Chapter 1

This was a big night for Ororo Munroe. She was on the Bobby Drake Late night show to announce her transition from modeling to acting.

"So, I heard that you actually stole the role from your fellow model Emma Frost. Is that true?"

The moment Emma's name was mentioned Ororo rolled her eyes. 'Typical Emma' she thought to always start drama. Ororo brushed a loose strand of her hair out of her face and cleared her throat before speaking, "A rumor started by Emma herself." She continued to explain while keeping it professional, "The director said he never made an official decision. I and others auditioned for that role and I am happy to have earned the role."

Bobby Drake smiled, "I'm sure it helped that your father is the legendary Charles Xavier." Charles had won 4 oscars in his lifetime and would have probably continued acting that is until he decided to retire.

"Yeah, my father taught me well, but my father honestly did not have anything to do with me getting me the part. I had to do all the hard work myself and I can only hope that I can make him proud and my amazing fans," Ororo spoke eloquently and smiled when the audience began to clap for her standing up for herself.

The TV host smiled and began to congratulate the woman for her success when suddenly all the lights went out. It was so dark nobody could see a thing. People were screaming and scrambling all around. Bobby Drake was insisting that everyone remain calm and stay in their seats. It was utter chaos. Not being able to see anything reminded Ororo of her traumatic experience.

FLASHBACK

Ororo was only 21 years old when it happened. It wasn't even night time when it happened, it was in the middle of the day. After hanging out with her best friend Jean Grey, Ororo was approached by a fan.

"Ororo Munroe, I'm your number 1 fan," the fan said in a voice that would haunt the woman for years to come.

One second she was giving an autograph and the next thing she knew everything went black. When she woke up she was trapped inside a trunk of a car. The 21 year old screamed, kicked, and clawed as hard as she could trying to call for help. Tears were streaming down her face as she sobbed and frantically tried to get out and was begging to be let go. But with each scream and kick, the driver just turned up the volume on the radio to drown out her screams.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Ororo!" Piotr called making his way to her to protect her from any potential harm and Scott Summers, Ororo's brother was at his side trying to navigate through the darkness to find his sister. However, Piotr and Scott weren't the only ones trying to get to her. Unknown to everyone in the studio, there were 2 masked assailants with night vision goggles had stormed the stage and they were making their way to Ororo. But fortunately, Piotr was already at Ororo's side.

"Ororo, come with me. It's okay, I got you," Piotr helped the woman up. Her legs were wobbly and her breathing was erratic. Scott was at her side in an instant trying to lead her off the stage and that's when they heard Piotr cry out in pain. Suddenly the light came back on, the man was laying on the stage floor groaning in pain.

911 was called immediately and Piotr was escorted to the hospital with many life threatening stab wounds. Scott quickly made his statement to the police. He felt terrible for Piotr all he wanted to do was to get his sister home where it was safe. Piotr was stabbed 20 times that could have easily been his sister. The entire ordeal was a blur. All Ororo could do was try to concentrate on her breathing. Betsy Braddock, her assistant gave her a brown paper bag for her to steady her breaths. Ororo cried the whole car ride home. She blamed herself for what happened to Piotr, her bodyguard. Her breathing was still erratic, she knew that she needed to do the breathing technique that her therapist instructed her to do name plants and flowers to help get her mind off the chaos and focus on her breathing.

"African Daisy," she breathed. "Aloe, Aster," she breathed.

Betsy tried to comfort her friend, "Have faith, deary." She rubbed small circles along the woman's back, "Tell you what after I see to it that you get home, I'll go stop at the hospital and stay be Piotr's side."

Ororo wiped away the tears on her face, "I'll go with you."

"No," Scott was real quick to shoot down his sister's suggestion.

"Scott it was my fault!" Ororo shouted at her brother. She could not believe his stubbornness and lack of compassion for the man who had protected her and him. "I'm the reason he got hurt. He could- - he could be dying and he's all alone."

Scott's jaw was clenched, "That's enough Ororo!" He rarely ever raised his voice at his sister but he wanted her to understand and see where he was coming from. "Listen, I know you feel bad for Piotr," he steadied his tone. "We all do. But some psycho did that to him and"- Scott paused unable to even imagine if what had happened to Piotr happened to his sister. "That could have been you." With that said he hugged her. He hated being harsh on her, but the maniac was still out there.

When they pulled up to the gates of the mansion, they were met with another shocking discovery. There were law enforcement cars parked out front. Betsy hopped out of the limo to find out what was going on. Scott and Ororo watched Betsy talking to the police. They noticed how big her eyes got as the officer continued to explain the situation. After talking to the police, Betsy opened the limo and grabbed her purse, "I'm this isn't over yet. The chief of police is in the mansion with Charles and they have something to show you." With that said, Betsy asked one of the officers to give her a lift to the hospital.

The limo pulled up to the mansion, Ororo and Scott hopped out and made their way to their father. "Thank goodness," Charles said to his daughter. He was thankful that she was unharmed but he knew they weren't out of the woods yet. Ororo could see the troubled look on her father's face.

"What happened?" She asked. She knew something else had happened.

Charles did not answer her question instead he called Jean, his daughter in-law over to take Ororo upstairs, "I'll take care of everything down here."

Ororo shook her head, "No, tell me what happened?!"

"Ororo, please," he knew this was all too much to handle for her.

Ororo was angry at them for treating her like a child, but she knew Jean would tell her. Jean was her best friend before she married Scott. Jean asked her to sit down on the bed and informed her that Dr. McCoy was on his way over.

"Jean, please just tell me what happened?" She asked.

The red haired woman sat next to the other woman that she loved like a sister. "A package was dropped off today."

Ororo had received fan mail, death threats, and odd gifts; but apparently this one was different. Inside the package was a picture of a 21 year old Ororo unconscious in a trunk of a car, a stand of her long white hair from back then, and a note saying, "I'LL FINISH WHAT I STARTED!"

The information alone sent the 28 year old back into one of her panic attacks. She hyperventilated until she passed out. When Ororo woke up, she sawJean talking to her therapist Dr. Hank McCoy.

Dr. McCoy watched as the young woman slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Ororo, my dear, you are safe. You are back at home," he said. He tried his best to reassure her that everything was going to be okay given the circumstances.

"It's happening all over again," she said. Her incident 7 years ago, pretty much led her to never wanting to leave the mansion. Living in fear and literally every shadow left her questioning if someone was there. She also developed claustrophobia. But the absolutely worst part of all this was not only did she fear for her life but those around her as well. Dr. McCoy listened to what his client had to say and he gave her his best advice he could considering the situation. He knew this was a lot for a person exponent who had not only one but two near death experiences. He prescribed her some pills for her to take in case she had trouble sleeping at night and of course reassured her that she could reach out to him anytime.

"You should get some sleep," Jean suggested after the therapist left. She could tell that her friend was about to object her request. "Don't worry. I'm going to stay here with you and there's an officer standing watch."

"Please let me know if we hear anything from Piotr," the 28 year old said before taking her pills.

OFFICE CHAMBERS

The Chief of police informed Charles that there would be an investigation, but they would not be able to offer around the clock protection but he did give the former actor a business card of a bodyguard who served in the secret services. At this point, Charles wasted no time and made some calls.

"The Wolverine," Scott read the business card. "Sounds like a badass."

A knock at the door earned the mens' attention. It was Dr. McCoy, "Pardon me. I just wanted to inform you all that I am leaving. I gave Ororo some medicine to help her sleep, but I am afraid after the much improvement she has made, she is no back to square one."

"I am afraid you are right," Charles agreed.

"Please if there is anything that you all need; just let me know," Dr. McCoy said to them before he had exited out of the chamber.

Scott excused himself to go check on his sister upstairs. When he opened the door, he saw Ororo asleep in bed and Jean was laying next to her reading a magazine inside was an inside story about how model Ororo Munroe was taken in broad daylight. "You know I really thought all this was behind her," she sighed. "But it's like a never-ending nightmare."

The red haired woman began to sob softly. Scott immediately went to comfort his wife, "I know sweetie." He embraced her and kissed her forehead. Scott wasn't a mind reader but he could tell that his wife was scared for him just as she was for Ororo today. He hoped that Logan would be the answer to their prayers and take out the guy who was doing all this.

PARIS, FRANCE

Marie sighed as she looked out the plane window, "I'm going to miss Paris."

"I'm going to miss the food and the women," Kevin joked nudging Logan to agree with him. But Logan already had his cowboy hat tilted over his head, he knew that he needed to get all the sleep he could get before they got to their new assignment. Logan was the one who Charles Xavier had contacted personally. From the details he gathered from the man, he knew that he had to start his investigation and do thorough background checks. When he heard that the woman they would be protecting was a model. He braced himself for the most likely ignorance he would face and the potential tantrums he would witness. He knew celebrities were vain and in many cases used to getting things their way. But Logan was always ready to lay down the law. He was the best at his job and he knew he was the best at doing what he did. He had never lost a client and always was a man of his word. He promised to protect them and that's just what he did.

MANSION

Everyone was relieved to hear that Piotr was going to make it. He under went surgery and was lucky enough to survive. Ororo was so relieved to hear his voice when she called him and she was not surprised that his sense of humor was still intact. He told her how he would not be able to make it to work today and he regretfully informed her that he would be quitting. She completely understood and wished him the best.

After her conversation with Piotr; her father told her about the new bodyguard that he had hired. The 28 year old model looked at the business card. "The Wolverine." Ororo was impressed, "Sounds like a badass."

"That's what I said," Scott commented. "Hopefully this guy catches whoever it is doing this."

As they continued their conversation in the kitchen they were unaware that they were being watched.

AIRPORT

When the 3 bodyguards exited of the plane, they were surprised to see Scott already waiting for them.

"Don't tell me somebody died already," Kevin joked and relieved an elbow to the rib by Marie. "You have an awful sense of humor," she said to her colleague. She was thankful Scott was a good distance away. She would not like to offend anyone on the first day.

"Welcome," Scott gave them a sincere smile. "I hope the flight went smooth."

The 3 nodded and Scott led them in the direction of the car and mentioned that he sent someone to retrieve their bags at baggage claims, but Logan insisted for Kevin to do that. Scott raised a questioning eyebrow at the man but just figured it was for safety reasons.

Once everything was loaded into the SUV, everyone piled in. The car ride was mostly silent, so Scott decided to break the ice, "So, Logan kill anyone today?"

"The days not over yet," came Logan's gruff reply.
