this is just the prologue to a 'Hamtaro' one-shot disguised as a two-shot. the real story is actually in the second chapter which is also the chapter following this prologue of a chapter. I know that this is not really the usual kind of thing for 'Hamtaro' fans, but I just wanted to let this fanfiction loose on this website.
disclamation: I do not own 'Hamtaro' in any way, shape, or form. I am but a humble fanfiction blogger, and I also write other kinds of stories. I do not really know who owns the anime series of 'Hamtaro', the English dubbed version of which I think was produced in Canada, but it sure is not me who owns the show.
With the 1990's cartoon, 'Hamtaro', and its human characters, we all know that Laura Haruna, Hamtaro's owner, saw her ideal boyfriend, Travis Kimura, as such a nice guy. We also know that Laura saw the new guy on the soccer team, Roberto Arvelo, as a total jerk. We even know that Travis was the only one on the soccer team who had been willing to be nice to Roberto and give him a chance.
What if there was more to Travis and Roberto's words and actions from that time than it seemed, though? What if Travis, as nice a guy as he is, secretly had a dark and manipulative side which fueled him with an ulterior motive for making friends with Roberto? What if there were more to Roberto's side of the story than what he had always let on to everyone else? What if there was a different reason for Roberto being that mean to everyone than just being scared to make any friends in even a new country? What exactly is the reason for Roberto's rodent phobia?
Find out the answers to all these questions in this one-shot fanfiction titled 'A New Day in a New Country AKA I Am So NOT Looking Forward to This At All'.
My readers will probably think that I'm lower than a snake's bellybutton for thinking like this, but I actually do support even Laura's friendship with Roberto more than her crush on Travis. To any of this fanfiction's readers who find that sort of thing offensive, I just always thought that it was so hilarious that Laura always seemed to wind up alone with Roberto for one reason or another.
