Beep beep beep beep. "D-did it work?" Izuku dashed out of his room and ran to his mom. "Mom! Mom! What day is it?!" The green haired boy shouted in panic.
"I-Izuku. I-i-it's Thursday. Are you feeling ok?"
"Yes! It worked! I can save Katsuki now!" Izuku exclaimed and then ran out the door to get to school. He completely ignored the fight between the giant villain and Kamui Woods. He sprinted to the school and saw Katsuki at the school. "Kacchan!" Izuku shouts as he runs up to Katsuki.
"What the fuck are you doing Deku?!" The explosion boy yells at him.
"I'm so glad that you're alive!"
"Fucking Deku!" He used his quirk to blow up Izuku, but in Izuku's current state of mind he didn't care how much his friend hurt him. He was just glad that Katsuki was alive. He kept trying to give his friend a hug while Katsuki kept using his quirk on Izuku.
"Boom. Boom. Boom! BOOM!" Because Izuku wouldn't stop, Katsuki fired off increasingly more powerful shots using his quirk. Izuku could hear someone screaming something. The next thing he knew he was sitting in a bed.
"Again?" Izuku tried to sit up, but he couldn't force his body to move. "What? What happened?" The door to the room opened and a nurse walked in holding a clipboard.
"Good morning, Midoriya-san. How are you feeling?" The nurse asked him.
"Sore." He groaned out.
The nurse wrote something down on her clipboard. "Where do you feel sore at?"
"E-everywhere." She gave me a sympathetic smile.
"What is the last thing you remember?"
"I was trying to hug Kacchan." He replied.
She wrote something else down and then held up her hand. "Can you tell me how many fingers I am holding up?"
"Three."
She wrote something else down. "Do you think that you are ready to see visitors?"
"Y-yes." He gave a worried look to the door.
"Ok. I Hope you feel better soon." The nurse said with a smile and then walked out of the room.
Scene break
The nurse walked up to Inko. "Hello, Midoriya-san. You may now enter the room; however, I will ask you not to touch Izuku. He was very badly injured when he arrived here. So badly, in fact, that we had to ask Recovery Girl to come and heal him. I will need to talk to you about what happened, but I think you want to see your son first." The nurse then opened the door for Inko and she paused for a second, processing what the nurse told her, before rushing into the room and sitting at the chair next to Izuku's bed.
"Izuku! H-how are you feeling?" She asked her son as the door to the room was closed.
"Sore." Her son replied.
"What happened to you? The nurse said that they had to call Recovery Girl to come and heal you." She questioned her son in worry.
Izuku froze. "I-I tripped." He stuttered.
"Izuku. Please don't lie to me. You wouldn't get that hurt just from tripping."
"I tripped." He firmly stated.
"I need to go talk with the doctor. I'll be back soon Izuku." She then left the room to go and try to find out what happened to her son.
The mother walked up to a passing nurse. "Excuse me? Do you know where Izuku Midoriya's doctor is?"
"You mean Recovery Girl? She is waiting in the staff room to talk to the patient's guardians."
"I'm his mother and I want to know what happened."
"What's your name?"
"Inko Midoriya."
The nurse led her to a desk and asked them to confirm that she was Izuku's mom. After the receptionist confirmed that she was Izuku's guardian she was led to a nearby room. "Please wait. Let me make sure that she is free to talk." The nurse then knocked on the door and entered when prompted to. "Izuku-san's mother is here to see you."
"Tell her to come in. I would like to speak with her alone." The nurse complied and ushered her into the room and then left and locked the door. The elderly woman stared at her for a moment. "Do you know why I wished to speak to you privately?" She questioned.
"I-i-is it about payment? I-I'm afraid we don't have much money." She winced.
"No, it's not about the money! Do you know how he got those injuries?! They were clearly caused by a fire type quirk, but he won't tell me who did it!"
Inko froze. Katsuki. Katsuki has an explosion quirk and is Izuku's friend. "I-I might have an idea about who it is." Chiyo turned all of her focus to the conversation. "Katsuki Bakugo. He's Izuku's friend and his quirk lets him fire off explosions from his hands."
Chiyo hummed in thought. "That could match the injuries that he had when he arrived. It also explains the markings I can see of past burns on his legs and arms."
The green haired woman froze again. "Can you tell how long ago he started getting the burns?"
"I can't tell for certain, but the earliest burns that I can see are several years old." She frowned and wrote a note on a clipboard that she grabbed from a nearby table.
Katsuki had been using his quirk to hurt Izuku for a long time. "A-are you saying that Katsuki has been abusing my son for years!" The irate mother exclaimed.
"I have already called the police and asked them to come and talk with Izuku." She smiled as Inko nodded her head in agreement.
"Good. I want to know if it really was Katsuki who has been hurting my son! When will they get here?"
"He is already here. He would like to speak to you before going to speak to your son. Are you ready to speak to him?"
"A-already?! I-I," Hesitating for a moment before steadying herself she nodded, "I-I'm ready."
Chiyo smiled at her most recent patient's mother. "Tsukauchi-san, come in please." The door opened and a dark haired man walked in.
"Hello, I am detective Tsukauchi. Are you Inko Midoriya?" She nodded and the detective pulled out his notebook and pen. "I am here to try to figure out what happened with Izuku Midoriya. Can I ask you some questions?"
"Y-yes." She stammered out feeling a bit overwhelmed when the detective walked in.
"First, what do you know about your son's most recent burns?"
"I-I didn't know anything until I was called by the hospital a few hours ago."
The detective wrote something down in his notebook. "Do you have any ideas about where the burns came from?"
The woman took a deep breath. "Chiyo-san said that his burns were caused by a quirk and the only person that I know that goes to Izuku's school is Katsuki Bakugo."
He wrote something else down. "Do you know when and where he got the burns from?"
"Th-the doctors said that they got called to Aldera Junior High, that's the school Izuku goes to. They said that they got called at 8:30."
"What time does Aldera start?"
"8:45."
"Did you know that Izuku had been burned previously?"
"No."
"Was Izuku acting strange today?"
"Yes, he asked me what day it was and then ran out of our house when I told him it was Thursday."
"I see. What hobbies does he have."
"What does that have to do with your investigation?"
"I'm just curious." The detective replied.
After a moment of hesitation she responded, "He likes heroes. He has a lot of journals that he writes about people's quirks and how they use them and their potential uses.
Tsukauchi closed his notebook and smiled at her. "I think that's all I'll need. I'm going to go speak to Izuku-san now. If you don't mind, I prefer to talk to people in private."
"O-ok." The woman responded, still feeling overwhelmed from the entire situation.
Scene break
Izuku jumped in surprise when he heard a knock on the door. "May I enter?" A voice from the other side of the door asked.
"Y-yes." Izuku replied and a dark haired man wearing a vest entered.
"Hello, Izuku. I am Detective Tsukauchi. Can I ask you a few questions?" The now named Tsukauchi asked.
"Y-yes." The green haired boy responded.
"Good." The detective gave a kind smile and sat down in one of the chairs in the room. "First, can you tell me what happened to you? Why were you sent to the hospital?"
"I tripped." Izuku quickly replied.
"Ok." The detective wrote something in the notebook that he pulled out of his pocket. "I spoke to your mother before coming to speak with you and she said that you like to write about people's quirks. What can you tell me about your quirk?"
"M-my quirk?"
"Yes. Your quirk."
"I-I just got mine four days ago, I mean today. I-It's strange. I don't really even know what my quirk is. On Thursday I was killed by a slime villain and then I woke up Thursday morning. Then I was killed by a slime villain again when I was going home, but All Might saved me the first time that happened. Then I woke up on Thursday again and this time when I went back home I went a different way back and then when I woke up after going to bed that night I woke up on Friday, but I found out that Kacchan was killed by the slime villain that killed me before, so I killed myself and woke up on Thursday again and I went to hug Kacchan because I was so happy that he wasn't dead anymore, but Kacchan doesn't like hugs so he used his quirk on me to try to scare me away." Izuku paused to catch his breath and he looked at the detective who had stopped writing and was just staring at him now.
"I need to make a call. Your quirk is very powerful and I think that you need to talk to professional heroes for advice."
"R-really?" Izuku looked hopeful.
"Yes." The detective gave him a firm nod.
"I'll go make my call and send your mother in." The detective said then walked out and his mom came back in.
Scene break
Naomasa Tsukauchi was concerned. That boy Izuku was telling the truth about his quirk. His quirk didn't go off during Izuku's explanation of his quirk. It was set off when the boy claimed that he got hurt because he tripped, but that was it. The kids' quirk was dangerous and in the hands of All for One it could be the end of the age of heroes. Pulling out his phone he quickly dialed Nezu, the principal of UA. While he liked Toshinori, he didn't think that the number one hero would be able to protect a kid. Toshinori wasn't the best with social skills either. "Hey Nezu, I was wondering if UA could take a kid in for protection?"
"Why do you need that, Tsukauchi?" The quirked animal asked the human detective.
"This kid has some kind of time manipulation quirk that comes into effect upon his death that resets him to the day he got his quirk." A moment of silence passed after he finished speaking.
"Are you sure? A quirk like that can be very dangerous."
"I couldn't pick up any lies when he was describing his quirk."
"I'll have someone to escort him to the UA within the week. I need to get the paperwork in so that he can stay here."
"Can his mother go with him?"
"I'll find some way to make sure she can come as well."
"Thank you, Nezu."
"Of course, Tsukauchi."
Scene break
Izuku was happily telling his mother about what he and the detective talked about. Missing the horrified look on his mothers face when she heard what he had gone through because of his quirk. The building started shaking and Izuku suddenly heard an alarm going off.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP "Warning the villain identified as Sandman is assaulting the building. Please head to the safe rooms. I repeat. Please head to the safe rooms." BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
"I-Izuku come on. W-we need to go!" Inko pulled on his arm and dragged him out of the room and into the hall. The hall was filled with people trying to get to the safe rooms.
"H-help m-me." Izuku stopped. "P-" They started coughing. "Please help me." Izuku turned around. ""Please." Izuku pulled away from his mom and ran back through the crowd trying to head back the way that the people were coming from. "Help me!" The voice was getting louder. He kept pushing backwards. "Help!" There! He turned to face a closed door and opened it and saw a green haired girl that was trapped under part of the ceiling that must have fallen on her.
"S-Satsuki…you need to leave." The trapped girl said.
"NO! I can't leave you Tsuyu-nee." The younger girl cried. Izuku quickly joined them and started to dig the older girl out.
"Wh-whoever you are…please leave me. Save my sister, please!" The green haired girl begged while looking him in the eye.
"Izuku!? Where are you!? Izuku!?" The boy's mom shouted.
"Mom! I'm over here!" He shouted back and she rushed into the room as well. "Mom, I need you to take her,'' he gestured to the younger girl, "and go with everyone else."
"B-but Izuku-"
"Don't worry mom." Izuku cut her off. "I'll catch up with you, I promise. I just need you to trust me."
The woman hesitated for a moment. "I-ok." She responded then spoke something to the young girl and then the two left together.
Izuku kept trying to dig out the green haired girl. "Why?" The girl asked him.
"What?" The boy asked in response.
"Why are you trying to save me? You aren't a hero."
"I will be a hero." He replied, forcing a smile on his face. "I want to be like All Might and save everyone with a smile."
She paused for a moment thinking it through, then she smiled back at him. "I think you'll be a great hero." She tried to push up again and the pile was slightly moved. "Just a little more. I'm almost out!" He kept lifting and pushing rubble off of her and she kept trying to stand up until finally she was able to force the rest of the rubble off of her.
"Let's go." The building shook again. "Hurry!" The two rushed down the hallway. Suddenly, in front of them, a hole was created in the wall and a creature made of sand was stuck in the wall.
"No. I can't give up. I need to save her. My daughter." The villain forced itself up and went back out to fight the heroes.
"Was that a villain?" The girl asked him.
"I think so. Why is he fighting heroes if he wants to save his daughter though?"
"Is now really the time to think about that?" She grabbed Izuku's arm and started pulling him down the hallway and down the stairs. "Come on. The safe rooms are in the basement." The building shook again and the ceiling started to fall in front of them. Izuku pulled back, forcing his companion to stop as well, saving her from being trapped again.
"Are there any other ways down?" The girl shook her head. "We'll have to dig them out then." The boy started to once again lift and push rubble out of the way to rescue their families. The girl quickly joined him to dig their way to the basement.
They two could hear police sirens now. "Hello kids." They both jumped in surprise, they had been so busy trying to dig out the basement that they hadn't noticed that someone else had shown up. "My name is Far Off. What are you two doing?"
"I-I'm Izuku Midoriya." The boy introduced.
"I'm Tsuyu Asui." His companion replied.
"E-everyone else is in the basement, but the ceiling caved in."
"Alright! Leave this to me!" Far Off held out her arm and the rubble that was blocking the stairs started floating in the air. She then raised her other hand and pulled them away from each other. That caused the debris to move to the sides of the stairs. "You two need to go outside now. I will go and rescue the civilians."
"But-" The two began.
"No buts. I need you two to clear the area so I don't need to try to protect you and rescue them."
The two looked at each other and gave a very reluctant nod. "Ok." Izuku replied and the two of them walked out of the hospital and were herded to one of the ambulances that had come to make sure that they were both ok. Far Off had come out of the building as they were finishing their impromptu checkup. The two quickly rushed over to him.
"Where is everyone? Where's my mom?"
"Where's my sister?"
Far Off gave them both a regretful smile. "I am sorry, but the entire room was destroyed in the fight. There were no survivors."
Tsuyu started crying and Izuku stiffened. Again. He could do this again. He could save everyone. All he had to do was die. It's not like I stay dead anyway. Izuku, having made up his mind, stole a knife from Far Off when her back was turned and stabbed himself.
The last thing that he heard was Tsuyu screaming at him to stop.
