Hey guys, something like this has been on my mind for a while! I need Amanda to understand the Benson Stabler dynamic. Hope you like it.
He's responsible for the sparkle in her eyes
"You've been so unyielding since Stabler came back into your life!"
Olivia hurries her steps towards Amanda and with her brow furrowed in anger says:
"Do you all want to stop using Elliot's return as a crutch for all the shit you do?"
Olivia and Elliot were working things out between them after the Brotherhood case ended, a few coffees here and there, El and Noah even got to know each other for real now and of course Noah clung to him just like Olivia knew he would. They still hadn't given the next step, the kissing thing, the compensation of 23 years of pent up sexual tension… But if Olivia could be smug about it, and she is… she'd say they're on the right path to make that happen.
Right now, she was bubbling with rage at Amanda's words, and neither of them noticed Elliot's presence at the end of the 16th hallway.
"Oh come on Olivia… the guy came back full of shit and all you did was be there for him… what about us?"
Fin just sat back in his chair enjoying the show, he knew no one who dared to badmouth Stabler would walk away completely unscathed, shit, he's been gone for 10 years but, Benson-Stabler were Benson-Stabler and 10 years of shit couldn't change that
"You don't know him" - at this point, Olivia barely cared about defending Elliot in the middle of her squad for anyone who would listen - "yes, he left me! He ripped my heart out because of it! But he came back, Rollins, in a hilarious way he came back and came back to me. I feel light and happy like I've never been in years and my son? My 9 year old says my eyes are shining these days! What do you have to say to a child who realizes after 9 years that his mother can be happy?"
Amanda lowers her head and takes a deep breath looking at Fin who just makes a mocking face as if she says "don't mess with Stabler"
"Liv."
"No! No Amanda, look… I know, you're my family, you're protective, but it's not fair to use Elliot as an excuse for everything. You'll have to get used to it, Elliot isn't going to leave again!"
"Isn't he?"
At this time Elliot finds the perfect opportunity to make his presence known.
"No, I'm not! I'm not going anywhere."
"El…"
Amanda is surprised to realize that the man was there the whole time or at least for a good part of the conversation, raises her hands in surrender and goes in search of coffee! Fin spins around in his chair and starts laughing as Olivia rolls her eyes and takes Elliot to her office!
"That was a hell of a show" - Elliot says sitting on the edge of her table.
"She was just full of shit!"
He gives her one of those smiles that makes her legs shake and damn, she needs control.
"So I'm making your eyes shine, Benson?"
Arrogant bastard, he knows the effect he has. Olivia gives a shy smile as her cheeks flush and God, for him she's beautiful in every way but like this? Blushing for him? He could die then and there and he would die happy.
"You're an idiot you know?"
He reaches out to intertwine his fingers with hers.
"But I'm your idiot apparently."
"Hmmm, let's see about that, detective."
