This is the end of the entangled love between Mihawk and Zoro
I know it has been a year since I have posted the first two one shots to my story.
I do hope you all forgive me for the long wait. For a while I had believed I had written and posted the final chapter. It appears it didn't happen. For I had been working on a different story.
I do not own One Piece. Just this story.
Hope Will Never Fade
Zoro leans against the railing of the Thousand Sunny. Her silver eyes look towards the rising sun. The battle in Wano had her wondering if she would be returning to her children and Mihawk. For a while she believed they wouldn't be leaving the Land of Wano.
"Zoro?" Luffy calls to her as he comes out of his sleeping quarters.
She looks over her shoulder to see her Captain and brother in all but blood. "Hey Lu." She tells him with a soft smile on her face.
"With us surviving. I do believe it is time for you to get Married." Luffy tells her as a far away look is in his eyes as his eyes move away from her towards the rising sun.
She lets out a long sign. "You are right. We almost didn't make it out of Wano." She agrees with him.
Luffy looks back at her with a bright beaming smile on his face. "Good. We will be arriving in Rabi within the day. Maybe you could have Mihawk and the others arrive there soon. As it will take two weeks for our logpose to reset." He tells her as they hear someone else walking up behind them. They look over to see Robin standing by the tree swing.
"Well Zoro Nami and I do have a surprise for you." Robin tells the greenette with a soft tender smile on her face. A smile a mother would give her daughter on her wedding day.
Zoro nodding her head steps away from the railing of the ship walking towards Robin as a shit eating grin is on Luffy's face. As he pulls his hat off and pulls out a piece of paper and a snail he had hidden there before he had come out of his cabin. He puts in the number on the snail as it begins to ring.
"Whoever thinks it's a wise idea to be calling me this early in the morning must have a death wish." Came the voice from the other end of the snail.
"Shishi. Shanks." Giggles Luffy as he says the name of his childhood hero.
"Luffy? Why are you calling me this early?" Shanks questions as his blurry eyes slowly crack open from his night of partying. .
"Well I want to know if you could get a hold of Hawkie as I think it's time for them to get married." Luffy tells him as his smile softens.
Shanks on the other end of the snail's eyes shot wide open as his jaw hangs open as it is mirrored by the snail being holded in his hand. "What? Why? Why now Luffy?" He questions with mild panic in his voice.
Looking towards the sea Luffy looks back down at the snail. "Because. For a while we didn't think we would be leaving Wano, with our lives and I didn't want Mihawk to know his beloved had died before they could get married." He tells Shanks as a single tear rolls down his left cheek.
"I…I see. Well you are in luck because Hawkie is on my ship." Shanks tells him as he looks over at the regal man.
"Why are you looking for me, Straw Hat?" Mihawk questions as his golden eyes narrow, being mirrored by the snail he now holds.
"Because we almost lost in Wano. I do not want to die with regret in my heart. A regret that I had taken Zoro from her family." Luffy tells him as he closes his eyes trying to fight his tears.
Mihawk had gone quiet as he gritted his teeth. For Red hair and himself hadn't arrived on Wano until the very end. Just arriving in time to see the Dragon of Wano fall at the hands of Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro. "Why do you believe there would be a time that I could marry my beloved?" He questions wondering if this boy had a plan.
"We will be landing on Rabi within a day's time. I believe that Island would be an ideal place for your wedding. As well it takes the logpose two weeks to rest. That should be enough time for your guests to arrive." Luffy tells Mihawk as a soft smile grows across the little snail's face.
"Very well. I shall have our children brought to the island. For this will be their first time seeing their mother since she had set sail." Mihawk tells him.
"Sounds good. Thank you Mihawk. I know Zoro will be looking forward to seeing you soon as well as her little ones." Luffy tells him, as he hangs up the call.
On board Shanks's ship
Mihawk looks towards the fool sitting across from him. "I don't want to hear about it." He tells him in a flat tone of voice.
"Aww Hawkie it's so cute that you are blushing at the idea of seeing your future wife again." Shanks teases him as he is now laughing. With his lone arm wrapped around his belly.
"Laugh it up Red-hair. For I know who the Maid of Honor is." Mihawk tells him with a sly smirk on his face.
This now has Shanks perking up at hearing about the Maid of Honor. "So who is the lovely lady that I would be the escort of on your special day?" He questions, still grinning like a fool.
Mihawk's golden eyes studied the man's face for a moment before he spoke to the man before him. "I am not sure they are very lovely. I am sure my beloved would be able to get them into a dress if you wish." He tells him.
Now this has Shanks arching a brow at the thought of whoever this Maid of Honor is. That they wouldn't want to wear a dress. This almost made him wonder if Zoro would be wearing a wedding dress. "Then who is it?" He questions with a little worry in his voice as his brow raises with wonder and fear.
Mihawk hides his smirk behind his newspaper. "You shall be escorting our fair maiden Monkey D. Luffy." He tells the man sitting across from him. Only his golden eyes could be seen just above the newspaper. A twinkle of mischief could be seen in them.
Shanks's eyes widened with shock. His mouth opens and closes like a fish at hearing who he will be escorting as his mind is still trying to connect the link between his mouth and his thoughts rushing through his mind. "What?" He sputters out.
Closing his newspaper as he folds it, placing the folded paper onto his lap looking at the man with a shocked horrified face. "What do you mean?" He questions with a slight smirk on his lips.
"I had thought the lovely Robin, Nami, Carrot, or even Yamito would be the Maid of Honor." Shanks tells him as he is still wrapping his mind around this new piece of information.
Now this has Mihawk snorting. "Zoro had told me once. When we will be married, Luffy would be her Maid of Honor. Just because he wants to be there for his best friend and sister in all but blood." He tells the fool before him.
Shanks moves his only hand through his crimson locks as he lets out a tried sigh. "Fine." He tells Mihawk with a grumble.
"Awww…Captain. It will be cute. As Luffy looks up to you." Came the voice of Yasopp as he is sitting not too far from them and was able to hear who his Captain will be escorting during the wedding.
Shanks shot the man with a death glare. "Laugh it up Yasopp. I could make sure your wedding date is your own son." He hisses out at the sniper.
Yasopp flips the man off and goes back to speaking with Doc. As Benn snorts looking over at his Captain and Mihawk.
"It appears Captain, Karma has finally come after you." Benn tells him with a smirk on his face. As he takes a draw from his cigar.
Shanks glares at him as he flips the man off as he lets out a huff. "Shut up." He grumbles at his first mate.
Mihawk ignoring the childish man. He pulls out his snail for his children.
Radi Island
The Thousand Sunny lands at an old dock along the abandoned side of the island. "I believe this part of the island would work perfectly for our plans." Nami tells the others as she gets nods of agreement for the crew.
Zoro walks over to the railing jumping upon the railing looking around the beach as well as the old dock before her. "I do agree. We can put up one of our tents over there for a dressing area for the women of the bridal party." She tells the others.
"I'll make it super for you Zoro-sis." Franky tells her with a large grin on his face as he does one of his silly poses.
Shaking her head she turns back towards the island. "I am just feeling nervous." She mumbles to herself.
"I know. All will be fine." Robin tells her as she places her hand on the woman's right calf.
Looking down to her right, she gives her a soft smile. "I know. It's just I can't believe the day is finally almost here." She tells her with a longing smile on her face as her hands come together with her fingers playing with the ring Mihawk had given her over 2 years ago. Almost going on three years now. From the time they had promised themselves to each other.
"It will give us the time we need to finish your dress." Nami tells her as she comes up walking towards Zoro and Robin. As she is being followed by Yamato and Carrot.
"Yeah." Zoro said with a soft smile thinking about the fabric they had shown her. The beautiful green and silver fabric they had found in Wano.
"I am able to do the detailed work on the dress. You said something about cherry blossoms as well as crescent moons on the dress?" Yamato questions her new friend and crewmate.
"Yes, for it is something I want on the dress. For it is very important to me. It was because of the festival. I had found the only man I would ever spend my life with." Zoro tells her with a smile on her face. With a far away glint in her eyes. Lost in a memory from a time long ago. A time from a lifetime ago.
The others share a look with a smile on their faces. "Come on. We have to get more measurements and so on." Nami tells her as Zoro nods her head as she jumps back onto the deck of the ship following after the others.
Three days later
The Red Force is seen off the coast of Radi Island. "LAND!" Yells RockStar as he looks down at everyone from the crows nest.
"About time." Mihawk grumbles to himself as he shots Shanks a glare.
"What? We needed to make a stop for booze as well as getting your Royalty a suit for your own wedding." Shanks tells him in a snotty tone.
Mihawk rolls his golden eyes at the red-haired man staring at him with a shit eating grin on his face.
"Whatever. I just want to be at the island before my children arrive." Mihawk growls out at Shanks.
Shanks waves him off. "You know they will be here tomorrow. As well, have you told your lovely bride-to-be they will be here soon?" He questions the man seated before him.
Mihawk's golden eyes widen slightly as he lets out a sigh. "No, I hadn't. I am sure she already knows I had called Mastas to bring our children to our wedding." He tells Shanks.
"I am sure she already does." Shanks tells him with a smirk on his face.
"Captain, It appears the Thousand Sunny is docked on the far side of the island." Rockstar calls to Shanks with a grin on his face as he jumps down from the crows nest.
"Alright. You heard the man. Sail towards the Thousand Sunny." Shanks orders his men.
"Aye Captain." They called out as one.
Radi Island
"Oi! There is a ship off the coast!" Calls out Usopp as he looks down at the others who are just hanging around on the deck.
"It might be the Red Force!" Ace yells back at Usopp. To stop the man's cowardly tendencies.
This calms down Usopp as he pulls out his spyglass once more to get a better look at the ship that should be arriving soon. "It's the Redforce!" He calls back out to the others.
A soft smile crews upon Zoro's lips. "He is here." She whispers to herself.
Without even thinking Zoro takes a running leap towards the Red Force once the ship had drawn near The Thousand Sunny. As she draws closer towards the ship Mihawk appears before her. Where she was going to land.
Holding his arms wide open Mihawk wraps his arms around the greenette swinging her around him as he draws her into his body. Her silver eyes looked up towards his own golden eyes. He leans forward resting his forehead upon her own. "I have missed you." He tells her as the world around them fades away.
"I have missed you as well. It has been too long." Zoro tells him with a soft smile on her face. She leans closer to him, softly brushing her lips across his own.
Grinning Mihawk claims her lips with his own. Leaning into the kiss deepening it. Pulling back a little breathless. He smiles down at her. "Our little ones shall be here tomorrow with Mastas." He tells her with a sheepish grin on his face.
Zoro snorts at him. "I know my love. I spoke to our little ones this morning. They had begged Mastas to call me. For they are way too excited to see me tomorrow." She told him to give him a peck on the lips.
He chuckles. "I see. Well I am glad you already know." He told her as he placed his forehead upon hers once more.
"Well I do hate to break this tender moment up. But, we have a dock." Shanks told them with a grin on his face.
Mihawk glares at him out of the corner of his eye. "I don't care. I am having a moment with my beloved." He growls out at the red-haired man.
The Day of the Wedding
Mastas smiles softly upon Zoro as she looks down at the new Matriarch of the Dracule Family. "My dear girl, you look beautiful." She tells her as she fixes Zoro's hair pinned up with her two Zanzis holding up her curls.
She looks up at the woman standing behind her. "Thank you. Mastas I am grateful to you. For all you have done for my family. Even for myself." She tells the older woman as she turns on her stool. Taking the woman's hands within her own. Giving her one of her true blinding smiles.
"My dear girl. It is a pleasure to have you in my life. For you have warmed the heart of Master Dracule's heart. For he had sealed it away so long ago. So, I should be telling you thank you." Mastas tells her as now tears roll down her cheeks.
Standing up, Zoro wraps her arms around Mastas. "Thank you so much for everything." She tells the woman with a soft smile.
"Zoro, it is time to get dressed." Robin walks up towards her with a smile on her face.
With a nod up her head. She stepped away from Mastas. "Alright." Zoro answers Robin.
Following Robin towards the dressing wall divider where a Mannequin stands with her wedding dress resting upon. A beautiful black lace layered up a beautiful emerald green Trumpet wedding dress with a flared out bottom with black lace.
"It is beautiful. You and Nami have gone all out for my dress." Zoro tells Robin with a soft smile on her face.
"Oh, Zoro, we wanted this day to be special for you. For you have been there for us all and fought so hard to save each and everyone of us. So allow us to do this for you." Robin tells her with her own soft smile.
Nami pushes open the flaps of the dressing tent open to allow herself in. She lets out a massive sigh. "Luffy and Shanks are being pains in my ass." She sighs out as she opens her eyes to see Zoro slipping into her wedding gown.
Zoro looks through the mirror towards Nami. "What are they doing?" She questions as her eyes move towards her swords.
"Luffy whined about his outfit until Ace began kicking his ass across the beach. As for Shanks. He is whining about who he is going to be walking down the aisle. Mihawk at this moment is offering to remove his other arm if he gives you any stress." Nami tells her with a cheeky grin on her face.
A giggle escapes Zoro's lips. "My children are better behaved than those two." She said between giggles.
"I know they are sitting quietly with juice watching the so-called adult males behave like children." Nami told her with another giggle.
She rolls her eyes at this. "I am grateful for the time I had spent with them and they have been taught by the best. As well, their father is a stickler for manners." She tells the others in the room.
Mihawk
"Red-hair if you put my wife in any distress before the wedding. You will be losing your other hand." Mihawk tells him with a dark aura surrounding him.
Shanks pales. "No….I'll behave." He tells the man before him with fear. Even though he is powerful. He knows Mihawk becomes powerful when someone he truly loves is hurt or hurting.
"Good." Mihawk tells him as his voice has become deadly calm. As he returns to buttoning up his white shirt. As his black jacket rests on a hanging next to him.
Ace and Luffy
Ace hold's his baby brother by the collar of his shirt. "Luffy stop being a spoiled brat. This isn't about you. This is about Zoro." He growls out.
Luffy stops fighting in his brother's arms. He blinks away his tears looking into Ace's silver eyes. "I know." He tells him with a huff.
"Why are you refusing to wear that green skirt hooked to the sides of her black shorts?" Ace demands his baby brother.
Luffy looks down to his feet. "I just feel like once Zoro marries Hawkie. I will lose her as part of my crew. I don't want to lose my sister." He whines telling his brother.
Ace places his brother back on his feet. "I know. I do understand." He tells Luffy with a smile on his face.
Luffy looks up at him with tears on his face. "You..you do?" He questions with a slight stutter.
"Yeah, for I have had crewmates get married and leave with their husband/wife. But, they always return after a while. They would take time once a month or every several months to return home to their loved one and spend time with them and return shortly after. So you are not losing her. She will just need time with her family from time to time." Ace tells his baby brother.
"Okay." Luffy said as he nodded his head. "I understand." He told his brother with a soft smile on his own face.
"I'm glad to hear that. Now come on. It's time." Ace tells Luffy as she swings his right arm around Luffy's shoulder.
Wedding
Everyone gathers under a massive Tent that Franky has set up for the wedding that Chopper and Carrot had decorated.
Brooks begins to play the wedding march as Benn stands next to Zoro to walk her down the aisle.
Gasps are heard at the vision of the Beauty standing at the end of the aisle.
Hearing the gasps Mihawk looked up from the ground as he had been thinking to himself and had looked down to clear his waring mind. His eyes widened as his mouth hangs open at the beauty that is slowly walking up towards him. "My Goddess." He whispers into the breeze. This makes Shanks and Luffy look towards him.
The two grin at the gobsmacked man whose golden eyes never leave the Goddess walking towards him.
Zoro blushes at the sight of her future husband. Making her feel a little shy at how he is staring at her.
Benn stops before Mihawk. Handing her hand over towards the War Lord. Mihawk reaches out and takes the woman's hand with a smile on his face. His golden eyes never leave her own silver eyes.
Their children giggle at the sight of their mommy and daddy as they look so pretty to them and the face their daddy had made was so silly to them.
"Mihawk, do you take Zoro as your wife? For better or worse, through sickness and health, until death do you two part?" Ace questions the man.
"I do." Mihawk answers with a smirk on his face.
"Zoro, do you take Mihawk as your husband?" For better or worse, through sickness and health, until death do you two part?" Ace questions her.
"I do." Zoro answers, matching her husband's smirk.
"Then I pronounce you both as husband and wife as the Captain of the Spade Pirates." Ace tells them with a grin on his own face. "You may kiss your bride." He adds as he almost forgot that part.
Mihawk leans down to his bride as Zoro leans up to her groom. Their lips meet for a deep passionate kiss. When they break apart as they rest their foreheads togethers.
"I am yours as you are mine." Mihawk growls out lowly.
"As I am yours as you are mine." Zoro returns with her own growl.
