3rd POV

15 years prior

This was bad and he knew. This couldn't possibly get any worse for the boy. At least that was what he thought until he heard the sound of moons laugh getting closer to the situation. Gregory could only swallow the knot in his throat, tears forming in his eyes. They're getting closer to him and he didn't have the energy to manage some sort of escape. To make matters worse, Freddy wasn't responding to his call for help, not that he'd be able to get past his friends to grab the boy and hide him away without being found out that he had been helping Gregory all night.

Gregory's breath quickened as his vision became blurry. He clenched his eyes shut upon gaining the feeling of an oncoming panic attack that he'd sure hyperventilate from if he wasn't killed before that. 'Is this how I die?' He thought. 'Pushed into a corner by a group of animatronics and killed without anyone in the real world even noticing I'm gone? Just another missing child added to this list?' Gregory paused at that one. 'No I wouldn't even been on that list. No one would know a child that never existed to begin with.' With that Gregory looked at the animatronics that had him cornered.

He plucked up his courage to speak, albeit shakily. "Look if I know you're all just gonna kill me, then make it quick. There's no need to make it so long as to remind me no one would even know Im gone in the first place. No one would be waiting for me nor worrying about me when the doors open, I have no home, so just do it already! I don't have anyone to live for!" Gregory shouted, perhaps a tad bit louder than he intended as the flashlight of the guard on a higher floor moved to the edge of where she was in their direction, indicating the cry was heard from where she was. But Gregory didn't care. He found he just couldn't care anymore. As his breathing never seemed to calm and the world started to get darker around him.

The animatronics looked stunned before their systems started blaring warnings everywhere in their eyesight. Before the 4 could only see through a red colored lens but as the warning systems continued to blare, the lens color seemed to diminish into their normal hue, breaking them from their stupors. They all were confused and look aimlessly around the area, taking note of the flashlight coming down the escalator, before they started to remember everything. Chica being the first to remember everything, took a step away from the boy, hands covering her beak, as she tried desperately not to get sick from her own actions. Monty being the second, stood still in his spot and took off his glasses as he stared at the boy who now sat on the floor seemingly nearing unconsciousness, contemplating what could've happened to cause his actions.

Roxy being the third one the recover, to a few steps back while muttering to herself. 'What have done' could be heard constantly repeatedly from the wolf. Moon was the last one to recover from the memories but couldn't take the time to contemplate them, like Monty seemed to currently be doing, as his system began screaming at his again about the child in distress. As a daycare attendant it was part of his programing to protect children. From his memory banks however he made the discovery that he hadn't done to well of a job lately. He's going to have to go talk to Sun once all this was done and over with. But for now he walked over to the boy in distress and crouched before taking him into his arms and placing him in his lap.

Gregory had yet to open his eyes but gripped onto whatever may be trying to help him. Moon rocked back and forth to comfort him before speaking. "It's alright little star, just take a breath in," he paused after hearing Gregory do as instructed "and breath out. Nice and easy now. You're safe now. No one is going to harm you not anymore. And we are so sorry for the pain we have caused you. We not in control of our actions." Moon explained softly as Gregory's breathing began to slow but after a short while of leaning on the attendant, he lost consciousness from over exertion. Moon held him while they all stayed in silence, looking down in shame.

Sooner than expected, Vanessa appeared before them. She took a look at them and the states they were in with confusion before her eyes landed on Gregory. Her eyes widened at his state before turning her attention to the robots. "What happened here?" They all stayed quiet until Moon pondered a question he had no answer to. "Officer Vanessa, if an animatronic was to catch some sort of virus that messed with the programming of said animatronic, how would it be overcome or kicked out of the system without having to manually entering the coding of the robot to do so?" Vanessa stood and ponder with her hand to her chin before thinking of the answer.

It took her some time to remember what she had been taught years ago but when she did she responded, "well I guess the only way to do that without a human assistant to take care of it would be if the mainstream program recognized the animatronic doing something it's not supposed to be doing and getting rid of the virus itself before any damage can be done to the program or whatever may be harmed. For you guys if you had a virus, the mainstream program would only kick it out of it saw you hurting a child or causing distress for a child, something like that I guess." Moon was taken aback by the answer and became angry at his own ignorance. The others seemed to caught onto the reasoning for this question and all were upset at what they've all done tonight. Vanessa however was still in the dark. "Why did you need to know that though?" Moon looked down at the child once more before asking another question. "Who was the last person who did maintenance on all of us?" Vanessa grew agitated at not have her questions answered but answered his question regardless. "That would have to be my twin sister, Vanny, again why do you need to know?"

Moon stood up and handed Gregory over to Vanessa. "She did something to us. Take him to the daycare, tell Sun that someone's let a virus out on us and tell him that I said the kids unbanned from the daycare. It wasn't his fault the lights went out after all. The kid didn't know that would happen when he grabbed the security badge." Moon turned back to the other before Vanessa stopped him once more. "Wait. Whatever it is you plan to do, I'm coming with you whether you like it or not. She's my sister and I want her to know that I'm not there to protect her. Not this time." And with that they waited for Vanessa's return before setting off to find the deranged woman in a rabbit costume.
