Elena felt better than she did last night. But, she didn't ever expect to be waking up in Damon's bed. Seeing that she had been put into Damon's clothes, she opened her eyes to see Damon half naked, still asleep. Sitting up, Elena looked at herself in the mirror seeing that her clothes, the ones she wore to bed, were on the floor.
"Morning beautiful." She heard Damon stir.
Turning her head, she watched as Damon sat up, his hands moving her hair out of the way so he could kiss her neck.
"Morning." She smiled, getting up off the bed.
"How are you feeling?" Damon stood up, walking around the bed. He pulled down the hems of his pants so they didn't feel so uncomfortable.
"Better than I was before." Elena smiled, allowing Damon to wrap his hands around her body, giving her a sweet yet passionate kiss.
"Damon, before we go any futher, can we just start over?" Elena asked, removing Damon's shirt to reveal her bra.
"Start over? How so?" He asked, smiling.
"Before Stefan and I started dating, he took me out, we had fun and then, he asked me out on a date." Elena explained.
"So, you want us to hang out and have fun and then go on a date?" Damon asked, smiling more.
"Yes. Is that too much to ask?" Elena asked, wrapping her arms around Damon, who smirked.
"Nope. You and I are going to have a blast." Damon smiled, spinning Elena around.
"Crap!" Elena pulled away.
"What's wrong?" Damon asked, concerned.
"The school is putting on a Founder's Day parade and I have to be apart of it." Elena remembered.
"And let me guess, you signed up with Stefan before you two broke up?" Damon asked, Elena nodding.
"I promise, today will not be about me and Stefan. It'll be about you and I having fun. Now. I have to go before Caroline gets upset." Elena kissed Damon, who let her leave his room with her clothes.
After a few hours, Caroline and Elena were walking through the school grounds, in their 1800's dresses. Of course, Caroline is wearing her Miss Mystic Falls sash.
Elena looked around, her curled hair lightly moving in the wind.
"Look at you, all retro." Damon smirked at his younger brother, who looked exactly like he did over 100 years ago.
"What are you doing here?" Stefan asked, confused. These sorts of events weren't Damon's thing.
"Why wouldn't I be here? Bonnie's back in town, which means that we can decode Klaus' plan, Isobel could be anywhere just waiting to strike Elena and it's Founder's Day! I am also here to cheer on my girl." Damon smiled, pissing Stefan off.
"Don't start with me Damon. Today is not the day." Stefan groaned, pissed at himself for yelling at Elena last night. Unfortunately for Stefan, Elena had already made her choice.
"What? You've got no sense of humor Stefan!" Damon laughed,
"Actually, I've got no sense of 'Damon humor'. There's a difference." Stefan sighed.
"Damon humor...how funny. Hey look, I get it, I get it. I'm the better, hotter, supiroir choice and you're scared since Kathrine is out of the picture and you no longer have Elena. Well guess what, Stefan. You lost Elena and now, I have her. Too bad, so sad, brother." Damon made fun of Stefan losing Elena.
"Oh and don't forget that Elena isn't Kathrine, so unlike Kathrine, I won't let another man swoop in and take Elena away from me. That reminds me of someone, oh, I know, you!" Damon smirked, enjoying torturing Stefan.
"You're right. She's not Kathrine. She's better." Stefan smiled before he turned around, seeing Elena.
Both he and Damon were shocked. They would've have never been able to tell the difference between Elena and Kathrine based on what Elena was wearing. Her hair was curled and half of it was pinned up. Her dress was beautiful and would've been a dress that Kathrine had worn before she turned Stefan and Damon. She wore the necklace that Stefan once got her, considering it went quite nicely with the outfit she was wearing.
Curtsying, Elena smiled at Stefan and Damon.
"Stefan, you look nice." Elena was being polite to Stefan. They may not have been together, but she hoped that maybe they would be friends.
"You look absolutely beautiful." Damon kissed Elena's cheek.
"We better go. The parade is about to start." Elena smiled before walking off with Stefan toward their float.
After a few hours of the parade, Elena was glad that she could finally change and go hang out with Damon. Giving her dress back to Caroline, Elena walked toward Damon, who gave her a sweet kiss.
"I like you better like this. The period look, it...didn't suit you." Damon smiled, opening the door to the Grill.
"Is that an insult?" Elena asked as she and Damon sat down at a table.
"Actually, it's a compliment of the highest order. Seeing you today wearing that dress, you looked exactly like Kathrine did in 1864. Both Stefan and I worried that maybe Kathrine had come back." Damon explained.
"Well. I can assure you that I am right here, and safe." Elena kissed Damon.
