Follow the adventure of the young team of first years at Squid Academy high school who hope to compete on the National stage. But, can they do it? They look to win the Rank Wars, a school-wide competition that decides who'll represent them at the Winter and Spring events. At the same time they'll also need to overcome the many personal challenges in their lives. This is their rise!

After saving Inkopolis from disaster, Callie and Marie have been imprisoned and forever changed. Despite all they've sacrificed, the inklings and Octarians stand on the razor's edge of either prosperity or ruin. Which way they fall will depend on Callie, Marie, and their allies.

Tartar 7 was a prototype for the Commander Tartar we all know and love. Sadly, Tartar 8 had died in the destruction of NILS, but the prototype version did not. Tartar finally got enough time to finish his project: an android male Octoling code-named "Android 8". Tartar takes over the android and goes to Inkopolis. His idea was to destroy Inkopolis from inside the city so no one would know who it really was. Things are run a little differently down here, but I'm sure after hearing the unique stories of our valued test subjects, you'll be a fine subject yourself in no time. Marie has been quite depressed ever since Callie disappeared, but after meeting one of the most handsome guys she has ever been greeted to, she feels almost happy for the first time in a few days.
