*Recap*

"Well, that is ironic," Jenna says.

"Why is that?" I ask.

"Oh I don't know," Jenna says taking a sip from her tea, "the fact that you, a witch, were at a supernatural exhibit and found someone also interested in the supernatural."

"It really was pure coincidence," I say holding up my hands in mock defeat. "So, you remembered that drunken ramble the last time we met on your campus before the accident."

"Of course, I did," she says setting her drink down on the counter. "We may have been drinking all day, but we both know neither of us was 'that' drunk."

"I have honestly wanted to talk about it with you, but hard to find time without others barging," I say.

"I understand," she says.

"Well, anything you want to know," I ask sitting down across from her after refilling my tea.

"Are there others like you?" She asks.

"Of course," I say. "There are even some in town."

"Do you know them?" She questions.

"One I do," I say.

"Not going to tell me who it is?" She asks with a raised eyebrow.

"So your real question is about if others around you are supernatural?" I ask with a small laugh.

"I guess," Jenna says looking down. "I mean if you can't tell me that is okay as well."

"No," I say stopping her and placing a hand on her arm, "I promised no lies between us." I take a breath. "Bonnie is a witch as well. Stefan and Damon are vampires. I think Caroline might be one as well. Mason is a werewolf. Also…"

"What?" Jenna asks with worry.

"Its about Elena," I say. "I think she is a doppelganger. I have met someone who looks just like she does now some years ago. It was a shock when I saw her at the wake and around your house."

"What! Really?" Jenna asks.

"Yea," I say seriously, "Was there ever a time that you were sure you told Elena something only for her later to say it never happened?"

"The night of the accident and fire," Jenna says as it clicks in her head.

"That means you met the dopple as well," I say.

"Oh my goodness," she says letting out a breath. "How do you know the others are supernatural?"

"My powers and theirs have different signatures. If I am near someone who has a different signature, it gives me a hint. Other small things about them as well. Vampires typically can't walk in the sun, but a few can, and they typically have a piece of jewelry that they always wear that lets them. Werewolves are normally reclusive but the few I have met have been very reserved and calm. Witches can just tell other witches if you have been practicing for long enough."

"Wow," she says, "You must have been practicing for a while."

"You could say that" I say.

"I would love to talk more but it is almost midnight, and I should get back to the kids," Jenna says placing her cup on the counter. "We can continue this more tomorrow if you want?"

"That sounds great!" I say as we walk to the door. "I know you won't but please don't tell anyone else about me."

"Oh, I won't," she says determined. "They are keeping me in the dark, then I will keep them in the dark." We both giggle a little at that.

I give Jenna a hug and watch as she gets in her car and head out of my drive to her house. I chuckled as I closed the door. I had gone to hang out with Jenna almost a year ago now. I was close to finishing my research, but needed a break, and she wanted to vent about her professor. We drank most of the day in her room and just talked. We talked about high school, college, boys, family, and any topic we could think of. It was at that time I wanted to slowly explain my secret to her.

Jenna is someone I would consider to be family and I hate keeping secrets from my family. I mentioned it as we were going to sleep so I honestly thought she hadn't remembered. It was great to know that she remembered, and she didn't seem too freaked out about it. I knew Jenna would be okay with it and I bet it explained so many of the odd things that had happened around me when I was little.

There were still more things about my past that I wanted to share with her, and I was glad I had come back to town so we could talk about all of this. I shot a message to my writer friend to let him know about my conversation with Jenna. I had mentioned wanting to tell her before. He already knew everything. Tomorrow would probably be a full day as well, so I decided to head to bed and face the day in a few hours.

"In the Morning*

I woke up and grabbed a shower and picked out some comfortable clothes. I checked the messages on my phone. I had one from my friend and one from Jenna. I messaged my friend back about when he would be arriving. I sent Jenna a message about meeting up at the Lockwood manor for the decorating the mayor had roped us into. I decided to make a necklace for Jenna made with a sage crystal and some vervain. I went to my library to get to work making the necklace before meeting Jenna.

I head out to the Lockwood house as soon as I finish the necklace. I wanted Jenna to be safe and with the sage our conversations would be harder to eavesdrop on. I pull up to the house and head inside to find Jenna. I see her talking to Carol Lockwood, who has a clipboard making sure everything is going well.

"It was also my favorite when I was in town," I say as I come up behind the two of them.

"Aria!" They both say when I finish.

"It is great of you to come out as well," Mrs. Lockwood smiles. "Can you help Jenna keep the volunteers in line?"

"Of course," I say with a nod.

Just then Tyler and Matt come through a door nearby carrying a table, but it starts to slip from their hands. Carol tells them to be careful and goes off after them. We both laugh at the situation. Jenna sees Stefan and calls out to him. I follow behind her a little.

"Stefan. Hey." Jenna says as she gets closer to Stefan.

"Hey," he says back while picking up a chair.

"I'm cooking dinner tonight." She says. "Ric will be there. You should come."

"Oh, um …" Stefan starts. "You know, Elena and I we're kind of taking a … A pause."

"Really?" Jenna asks a little suspiciously. "Because that is not what it sounded like this morning." Stefan looks at her with kind of wide eyes and looks at me. I shrug my shoulders. I had no idea about what was going on.

"Light sleeper," Jenna lets out in a whisper like tone.

"that's true," I say patting her on the back.

"You know what?" Jenna says noticing Stefan doesn't want to talk about it, "I heard nothing." She turns and walks away from Stefan deeper into the house.

"Is everything ok?" Stefan asks me.

"I am sure it is all good. Just the aunt wanting to be nice to who she thought her niece was dating." I say back nonchalantly. "Oh. My name is Aria Lennox. I know I have seen you before, but never introduced myself."

"Hi," he says sticking out his hand so we can shake hands. "Damon mentioned meeting you before at the barbeque."

"Ha," I laugh. "He should remember the real first place he met me. I am gonna go help Jenna keep the others in check." I rush off before he has a chance to say anything else.
