*Recap*

"I knew you would tell me the truth," she says with a chuckle. She slips the necklace on.

"I told you I would always tell you the truth," I said with a smile.

Ric arrives and we order pizza. We all talk about the history of town to distract ourselves from everything. It was good to pretend for a little bit that things weren't weird. Elena comes down to talk to Jenna while I get up and get some tea. I also see Elena get confused and she heads over to Ric. I take my cup and sit down next to Jenna and tilt my head. She raises her eyebrows at me. We had always been able to communicate without saying much.

Elena seems to make a connection about something and leaves us all alone. She says she is going to go to bed but as I move to sit in the armchair, I see her leave out the front door. I turn back around to see if anyone else noticed, but it seemed they didn't. We continue our history conversation from earlier. We chat for some more. Jenna eventually falls asleep from her medicine.

"Do you mind if I sleep here in the chair?" I ask. "I just want to make sure she is okay."

"I understand," he said. "I was gonna take the side of the couch here."

We both laugh and then get the extra pillows and blankets from the closet. We both get into comfortable positions and seem to doze off as well. We only wake up when we hear Jenna laughing. The sun had come up it seemed. Ric and I stretched from our uncomfortable positions. We all grinned, and I got up to make some coffee. I normally liked tea, but this is coffee kind of day.

Ric went to check on the kids and came back down to say that they were fine, but something in his voice told me he was lying. I gave Jenna a look as I gave her the coffee cup. Ric headed out to change his clothes at his apartment.

"I am pretty sure some things happened last night," I say taking a sip of my coffee.

"Good or bad things," Jenna asks.

"Both," I say with a smile. "Oh, your necklace has a vervain coating so no more compulsion. It is also made with a sage crystal. It is good at blocking out negative energies, and it can keep others from hearing our conversations a little."

"Wow," she says. "you made this?" She holds it up and looks at it.

"I wanted to make sure you were safe, "I say taking her hand. "Even more happy that I made it with everything these last 2 days."

"Thank you," she says giving my hand a squeeze. "Now go home."

"What?" I ask confused. "You don't want me here?"

"That's not it," she laughs. "You have been here all night. Go home. Shower and change clothes. We can talk more later."

"Oh," I say. "That seems like a great idea. Oh and just in time." Jeremy rounds the corner. "Seems your nephew is right on time."

Jenna laughs as Jeremy looks between us confused. I pat him on the shoulder as I head out to my car and to my house. I get home and go straight to my shower. Jenna was right a shower did wonders for me. I felt a ton better after showering and changing my clothes. I checked my phone as I hadn't looked at it since last night. I had a message from my friend. They were going to be nearby and asked if I could meet them at a house a little way away. They said the house had some interesting history.

It might be good to get some research done for once and take my mind off everything going on, so I respond I would be by later as I needed to eat and everything. My friend sent me the address and I wrote it down. I looked up the address and planned out the route while I ate my sandwich. It was kind of far away, but I could get there and back no problem. It just meant I probably wouldn't see Jenna today. I shot her a text to let her know my friend was close by and I was meeting them.

I get the directions, and I headed out to the location. It was not a fun solo trip. It was mid afternoon when I saw the last sign that I knew would appear and settled into the 80-mile trip. At least the music on the radio was good today. I could see the sky was growing darker as I got closer to the address. I was looking for mile marker 6. The sky had turned much darker. I had only seen cars going in the opposite direction. Now a spooky old house would be so much fun. I hope my friend knew how far this was and how much trust I was putting in him.

I found the access road shortly after passing mile marker 6. I followed the road a little bit until I came to the front of an old colonial style house. It was a little creepy being there alone. I pulled up and got out of my car. I didn't see my friend outside, so I figured he was inside. I pushed on the door, but it seemed to be a little stuck. I pushed it harder, and it opened enough for me to open it. I squeezed into the entryway and the door closed with a thud. I looked around for my friend, but I didn't see him. I turned around and let out a scream.
