Connecticut Part One

"You have something that belongs to Project Freelancer, and you know how the Director hates to share."

"I know what you are Tex, and I won't take orders from a Shadow."

"Actually we don't need you. We just need your armor."

"Just rest Connie... Just... Connie?"

The first thing CT, Agent Connecticut... Connie could hear was talking. "We have to be brave." One says. The voice sounded like a child, a little boy to be exact.

"I'm scared..." A second child, a girl this time replies. Though this voice held familiarity to Connie. Her head began to hurt as images began flashing within her mind. Memories she both recognized and didn't recognize. She could remember living with her mother and her younger sister Nora. She remembered times where the she and her sister played in the front yard. Then she remembered the Grimm. The attack. Their mother abandoning them only to get torn apart by the monstrous creatures.

"Me, too." The boy was responding the girl.

Connie finally started to open her eyes to see that they were currently hiding underneath a building the boy moves to leave the safety underneath the house, but the girl who Connie recognized as her little sister Nora clutches his arm in fear.

"It's OK." He assures her, and with light whimper, Nora lets him go watching with big eyes as he moves away. The boy grabs some kind of wooden hammer and returns to her. "We'll keep each other safe." The boy states. He offers her the hammer, and she looks down at it, clearly emotional before she takes it from him. "What's your name?" He asks politely.

"Nora." She replies

"My name's Lie Ren." The boy introduces.

Connie coughs startling the two as she introduces herself. "Connie." Nora rushes over and tackles Connie with a hug.

"Your okay!" She nearly shouts barley holding her voice back in fear of the creatures that had recently come through the village of Kuroyuri.

"I'm fine." Connie says calmly as she holds her 'New' little sister. She then push's Nora back a bit to inspect her. "What about you? Are you okay?" Nora nods to the question. "Good." Connie says with a relaxed sigh. She then turns to Ren. "Nice to meet you by the way, Ren?" Ren nods with a smile.

The three would stick together, and Connie knew right then that she would do anything to them safe. They began traveling hoping to find a city while Connie sorted through her new memories. She could remember things about this new strange world. She knew about Grimm, Aura, Semblances, and more. She was glad for the second chance at life if a bit confused on why she got it. Even more confusing was the knowledge that she was a child again only 3 years older than Nora and Ren.

"Just Rest Connie..." That sentence. The last words she heard before she died haunted her. She just hoped her love was alright.

Many Years Later

Connie has been living her new life protecting her little sister and her friend. Together as orphan survivors from a Grimm attack they traveled a bit, and currently find themselves living on the streets of Vale. Connie would have simply applied for a job, but until this year she wasn't able to. Now that she was Seventeen Again she could apply for jobs or even sign up to become a huntress in training. Though that last option wasn't on the table unfortunately. So now she currently enters a Bakery in downtown Vale with the words 'Now Hiring' displayed on the window.

With a sigh of self disappointment she approaches the woman at the counter though out of the corner of her eye she noticed a sign on the counter as well. Lookin over she noticed it had the words 'We Do NOT Serve Faunus' on it. Connie scowls at the sign. 'I didn't really want a job here anyways.' She thought. Connie turned around and began to walk towards the exit only to see a group of Faunus wearing masks that resembled the Grimm. Each of them were carrying weapons. One of which looked to be holding a machete. Another was holding a red Dust crystal.

The group walked past Connie strait to the counter. The woman there looked terrified as they approached. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, b-but we aren't a-allowed to serve..." Before the stuttering woman could finish the Faunus with a machete slashes at her. Thankfully the woman had the good sense to duck under the counter. Connie wasn't going to let this continue.

Before the rest of the hostile Faunus could react Connie grabbed the one in the back kneed him in the back and tossed him at the one with a machete. A fox Faunus in the group yells as he swings a crowbar at Connie only for her to back away from the swing and punch him swiftly in the jaw. The one a Dust Crystal backed up as he lifted his hands into fists to protect his face. Meanwhile the one with a machete got up and slashed at Connie from behind. Connie had predicted as much and jumped to the side just barely getting out of reach. She then grabbed the hand holding the weapon and punched the man in the rib before kicking his leg and taking the machete from his hand. She the hit him in the head with the but end of the handle knocking the guy out, and leaving a large cut on his head.

Connie took note that these Faunus didn't have their Aura unlocked. The one with the crowbar approached again along with the one she threw at the beginning of the fight. Connie rolled under a crowbar swing and kicked the other Faunus in the stomach before turning around and slashed the Fox Faunus' leg causing him to cry out in pain. With a bleeding arm the Fox Faunus dropped the crowbar and fell to the ground while Connie punched the one she threw earlier. She hit him in the head then the leg before hitting him several times in the stomach and finally uppercutting them. She then turns to the last man standing. A Faunus with cheetah ears holding a bright red Dust Crystal. He panics and throws the crystal to the counter as Connie's eyes widened. Without concerning herself with the Cheetah Faunus running away Connie hops over the counter grabs the now glowing and shaking Dust Crystal and throws it out the door just in time for it to explode in the street.

She turns over to see the woman hiding behind the counter staring at her with worry in her eyes. "Are you okay?" Connie asks and the woman nods. That when Connie noticed someone else rush in. It was a woman with blond hair, glasses, green eyes, and a white blouse with a black cape . In her hand was a riding crop, her weapon if Connie had to guess. It was clear to Connie right away that this woman was a Huntress. "Son of a bitch."
