Lucy finally lets her tears fall as she closes the bathroom door behind her and slides down to the floor. Her knees folded to the chest, hands wrapping around them as if she wants to curl into a ball.

Of shame.

She wants to scream, cry. Curses herself loudly for her own mistake. She knew it would hurt if he didn't feel the same way, yet Lucy got her hopes high. And now she is a miserable mess, it is simply pathetic.

Rejected. She was rejected by him.

Uh, I- look, I don't know okay?

You don't know what though?

It's complicated guys, Lucy and me... we're the bestest friends! But it's just that. I'm not really interested in-

That's all Lucy heard before her heart could not take anymore. She just ran, and ran until her lungs burned for some oxygen. By the time she reached her apartment, her eyes were puffy, swollen and lips hurt from biting too much. Legs quavered, she could barely hold herself together.

It was embarassing. It wasn't even his damn fault, heck, he never said he wants her in that way. But sometimes, maybe it is only in her head, Lucy feels different when he stares at her for bit longer. Holds her hand while talking.

The small gestures contrast his usual demeanor, it almost hurts to believe that those are nothing. Just her excuses to cling to the hope, that maybe, maybe he loves her back.

He does not.

And Lucy feels horrible for not realising it sooner. Had she, she definitely would not end up in such a situation. It was so careless of her, for it can ruin the friendship they have.

Lucy doesn't want that. Never. Their friendship, their partnership and the bond is beautiful. She will not let her foolish feelings get the better of her.

However, Lucy cries into the silence, wishing all this never happened.
