Setting Prompt: Enemies to Lovers
Kaito had always thought of Hakuba Saguru as an enemy. A foe, out to catch him and put him behind bars. Only a beta, but he produced the same fierce energy associated with alphas. Kaito's actual alpha rival was stuck in the body of a little boy, but Kaito knew if he got the cure, he would be terrifying.
Especially since Kaito himself was an omega.
He usually wasn't scared of alphas or dominant betas like Saguru, but during heists, when they were so close to catching him, his omega instincts tried to turn on and make him cower instead of continue running. Kaito fought those useless instincts, of course, but still.
In the end, Saguru was an enemy. And if he got even one whiff of Kid's omega scent under all the scent blockers, Kaito knew he'd be going to jail. He thanked whatever deities there may be that as a beta, Saguru's nose wasn't as strong, yet cursed those same deities that Saguru had trained said nose to recognize the smallest changes in scent that pointed to whether one was an alpha, beta, or omega. It was a rare ability for betas to have, but of course, Saguru had it.
After his most recent heist though, when he was still in his Kid suit, Kaito's heat started early. And here he was, curled in the dumpster behind the building, trying to will the worst of the heat to go away.
That was when Saguru showed up.
At first, Kaito didn't notice him, but then the British detective approached him and Kaito flinched back. Saguru paused, then whispered, "You're in heat, Kuroba-kun, aren't you?"
Kaito could barely even nod.
Saguru sighed. "Take off the Kid suit, I'm bringing you home. I know how to take care of an omega in heat until you're well enough to do so on your own."
Kaito stared at him for a while, before slowly removing the Kid suit. Perhaps Saguru wasn't so much of an enemy after all.
