Sitting on the marsh in a field, their eyes continued to watch the sky, catching the times a star would pass with its tail of fury. The sky was black, clear for a time.

"Do you believe stars make our wishes come true?"

"I don't know, maybe. I like to believe they listen to us."

One star soared through the empty sky, passing like the wind.

Will just stared, watching it travel. This star was blazing white, shining brighter than the stars that stood still.

Raising a hand, Mike touched Will's shoulder, and felt the other flinch in the process. A small smile crossed Will's lips. He averted his stare from the night sky to Mike beside him.

"And what did you wish for?" Mike asked, curious.

Will scoffed and glanced down at his hands.

"You'd laugh at me."

"You really think I would?"

Scoffing, Will shook his head.

"Don't worry about it."

"Well, you don't need to tell me if you don't want to."

Leaning in, Mike planted a small peck onto Will's lips. This was quick, fleeting. Then, during the time this kiss happened, a few droplets of rain started to fall. Will glanced up, observing the dark clouds gathering.

"Hm," he intoned, "I guess this is what I wished for."

Mike squinted, "you wished for it to rain?"

"No. I wished for you to kiss me in the rain," he corrected, snickering.

"Really?" Mike beamed from ear-to-ear.

Will just nodded.

A second kiss came, smacking Will's mouth in a heartbeat. The rain spat around them, becoming heavy with its downfall. Grass didn't take long to become wet, nor did their clothes and hair.
