Meg groaned as she managed to stumble to her feet. She grabbed her head and stood still, in case she got nauseous. After a minute, she made her way over to Susan and offered her hand. Susan gave her a look but did accept the offer. When Susan was also standing, the two women slowly made their way upstairs.
"We should try to sleep this off," Meg muttered as they made their climb up the stairs. Susan grumble incoherently as a reply. When they entered Meg's room, Meg took her jacket off. Susan was about to open the door that led to the hallway connecting their two rooms when she noticed that Meg was having a hard time with getting her shirt off.
"Here, let me help you with that," Susan said as she made her way over. Without waiting for Meg to reply, Susan started to help with getting Meg's shirt off. Meg stiffened slightly but didn't resist. Susan wasn't sure at first why Meg had stiffened until she got a good look at Meg's front and left side upon getting Meg's shirt off. There was a series of painful looking bruises that ran from under Meg's armpit to just above Meg's trousers, as well as a couple of bruises on Meg's stomach and chest. There also were a few bruises along Meg's upper right arm that were clearly made by a rough hand. Susan, at first, was confused.
Where on Earth did she get these from? She thought to herself.
It then dawned on Susan that she was the one who gave these to Meg. It was from the scuffle from the day before, when Meg had awkwardly said that she didn't want Susan to read the slash fic about them. Susan had viciously attacked Meg as a result, first by slapping her several times as Meg tried to defend herself. When Meg had managed to shove Susan away from her, Susan went berserk and lunged at her. She had Meg's arm in a death grip to keep her from escaping while her other hand had unleased a series of punches to Meg's side, chest, and stomach.
Bloody Hell, I didn't realize I had hurt her so... Susan felt terrible as she looked over the damage she had caused.
"You okay, Sue?" Meg asked in a concerned tone. Susan stared at Meg, flabbergasted.
"Am I okay? Are you okay? Damn it, I didn't mean to be so rough yesterday. You should have told me that I was hurting you!" Meg raised her eyebrows slightly.
"I figured you knew. Punching someone repeatedly isn't meant to be a pleasant experience, the last I checked."
"I am sorry," Susan muttered as her hand gently grazed the bruised skin. She hadn't noticed that Meg had quickly turned her head to hide her blush, "I shouldn't have attacked you yesterday, especially like this. I honestly didn't think I was hitting you this hard."
"It's okay, I had it coming for being sneaky," Meg replied, her voice was at a higher pitch than normal. Susan guided Meg over to her bed and gently forced her to lay down on her uninjured side.
"No, you didn't have that coming," Susan said firmly, "I took it way too far yesterday and all over a stupid slash fanfiction! I think there is some aloe gel in the bathroom. I am going to rub that on the bruises."
"Sue, you don't have to-"
"I insist," Susan interrupted. She glanced down at Meg and noticed how flustered she appeared. Susan frowned slightly in realization but didn't say anything. Instead, she left the bedroom and made her way into the bathroom. She frowned as she rummaged through the cabinet to look for the aloe.
She got very flustered when I mentioned the aloe...and was she...blushing? Susan thought to herself as she continued to look for the gel.
Susan found the aloe and held it in her hand as she gathered her thoughts. Things were beginning to make a lot more sense now. Shaking her head slightly, Susan made her way back into Meg's room. She grabbed Meg's computer chair and brought it over to the bed before she sat down in it. She was watching Meg in her peripheral as she gently began to apply the gel. Meg kept her gaze downwards and was trying to look neutral. Key word, trying. Susan was very deliberate about how she was rubbing the gel onto Meg's skin. She was practically caressing Meg, which was clearly getting Meg more flustered. It was at this point that Susan decided to take things further.
"Right, sit up, will you? Just for a moment. I am going to take off your bra. It should make it easier to me to get all of the bruises," Susan stated casually. Though Meg's expression stayed neutral, her face briefly turned a deep shade of red. She did obey, though. Meg kept her gaze down as Susan reached around to undo the hooks. Alas, Susan's suspicions were correct. She had left bruises just under Meg's left breast. Susan suppressed a mischievous smirk, mostly because of the guilt she felt for being the one who left those bruises to begin with.
"You really don't have to do this," Meg said sheepishly as she laid back with her legs still over the edge of the bed, "I'm fine, really..."
"These bruises say otherwise. Besides, if you were "so fine", you wouldn't have had trouble with your shirt, Dearie," Susan pointed out. She had stood up at this point and was putting a decent amount of gel into the palm of her right hand, "I was the one who did this. So, I will do what I can to soothe this."
Meg shivered slightly as Susan resumed applying the gel to the bruises. She giggled when Susan started on her stomach. Meg struggled with not squirming as Susan continued to rub the gel upon Meg's tummy. Susan chuckled softly as her left-hand cupped Meg's side to keep her still.
"Ticklish, I see. Perhaps I can tickle you as a substitute for the phase pistol," she said jokingly, "Almost done, Love."
Susan put a small amount of gel in her palm and then started to rub Meg's upper right arm. She deliberately was saving the bruises under Meg's left breast for last. She glanced at Meg and noted that Meg was extremely flustered. She had her eyes closed and was somewhat breathing quickly.
How did I not see it before? It makes so much sense now! I don't get how she could, though...with how I have treated her... Susan paused to add more gel to her hand. In a very deliberate motion, Susan gently cupped Meg's left breast and lifted it so she could get good access to the bruises below. Meg's eyes shot open in utter shock and were locked in Susan's gaze.
"How long have you had feelings for me, dear?" Susan asked softly. Meg looked horrified and then ashamed. She looked down in defeat.
"For a while," Meg replied quietly. Susan began to rub the gel on the bruises below Meg's breast. Meg let out a shuttered breath, "I am sorry, Sue."
"Why are you sorry?" Susan asked.
"Because...we are related, though distantly and... well, our resemblance. It makes no sense for me to... but I can't help it," Meg rambled. She had closed her eyes, which had shown signs of shedding tears, "And...and I know you could never feel the same. You must hate me or see me as a freak..."
"I don't hate you or think that you are a freak," Susan replied. She hesitated for a moment, "...I would be a hypocrite if I did, after all."
Meg stared at her incredulously, "What...?"
Susan gently squeezed Meg's breast, "I love you too, you foolish girl."
Meg stared at Susan at a complete loss of words. Susan smiled at her before she resumed with her task of rubbing the gel on the bruises.
"You...you love me? But... I thought... your reaction to the fanfic... and what you said after in the review..."
"You also said quite a few things, dear," Susan pointed out, "Like me, you probably were in denial."
Meg frowned, still looking very confused and unsure, "I wasn't in denial. I... just didn't want to risk losing you if you ever were to find out."
"My dear, even if I didn't feel the same, you wouldn't lose me," Susan reassured Meg. She then leaned down and softly kissed Meg on the lips. She gently stroked Meg's faced as they both gazed into each other's eyes, "I am sorry for hurting you and for how I have treated you during our time together. I will change my ways and be better, for you."
Meg, who still looked shell-shocked, smiled at Susan and shyly returned the kiss, "I will do the same, Sue. I won't let bad fanfiction drive me to extremes anymore."
"I will be here in case they do, but I will find a better way to restrain you that won't cause harm," Susan promised, "The phase pistol has long stayed its' welcome."
The promises were, indeed, kept. Meg gave the straight blade to Susan and convinced Susan to take on the FanFic Critic mantle after a time. The two of them, within the year, became official and eventually married, not caring what others may think. Love is love, after all.
The End
Author's Note: I figured that I would incorporate the new web show at the end with Susan becoming the new FanFic Critic. Yes, I ship them. They have good chemistry, ESPECIALLY in the new web show. Susan's vow to Meg in that Witcher review was so adorable! Yes, I know they are played by the same person. I don't see the characters as that person, though. Yes, I know they are supposed to be related. They are third cousins, which actually isn't that close of a relation. Besides, there's fans of Supernatural who ship Sam and Dean, who ARE brothers. Don't get me started on Game of Thrones.
If this story isn't your thing, that is okay. All I ask is that you be respectful. Thank you.
