Chapter 1: Strange Way to Start

5:35 AM, the start of the sunrise. It's October, so Taurid and Draconid meteor showers are both in full season within the town of Farboro. And all the better timing, as

Within the forest watches an armor-clad moth humanoid by the name of Roba Turquoise, and a sweater-clad deer humanoid(?) by the name of Horace Crimson.

It wasn't until both were interested in the meteor shower, did they cross each other in the forest.

Horace: "...I see you're here to see the meteors too."
Roba: "Oh, I just woke up from… A coma? I don't know why I'm here."
Horace: "Strange. Say, I just so happen to be the detective of this place, I can help you for free."
Roba: "You will? Really?"
Horace: "Even if I profit from cases, I'm not above taking from situations like this."
Roba: "Okay, since I assume I'm far away from what my home was by the looks of things, can I stay at your place for now?"
Horace: "Of course. My workplace is hiring, so you can be my coworker. I do live in the HQ, after all. Plus, the roof gives us a better viewing angle…"

The two come inside, enter the HQ, and go to its roof to continue viewing both the meteor shower and the sunrise.
