The Brionac charged at full power, ramming into Kuwalsa's barrier and managing to break through.
"So, the Brionac is able to move again. I guess that too is the order of things." Kuwalsa said. "Very well, then I shall destroy this very vessel itself!"
"Come, Kuwalsa, and face your fate!" Cheetah said.
"Here goes!" Glacius said as she launched an ice blast that coincided with Nesma's fire attack.
"Prepare yourself!" Koren said as he fired a blast of wind.
"Don't forget about us!" Jessica said as she used lightning magic alongside Jade.
"Hmm… Your attacks are strong and well-coordinated. I can see how Grossa and Rouge has a hard time." Kuwalsa said as four weapons floated at the sides. "But the rehearsal is over. This is the end for you all!"
The group nonetheless pressed on the attack, and was able to severly damage Kuwalsa.
"Ghhh… You all are strong! Too strong! How… How are you able to keep on fighting in spite of such overwhelming odds! Tell me!" Kuwalsa said.
"Isn't it obvious?" Cheetah asked. "Because we are huntresses at heart. We do not stop for anything to catch our quarry. Even with all of the baggage we carry."
"Baggage? What are you talking about?" Kuwalsa asked.
"I was a Beastman from the Nature Universe. A very rare breed in fact, based off of a very sacred animal." Esmeralda said. "I was passed around from master to master, all of whom ended up dead within mere months. I had convinced myself that I was a very cursed being that pays retribution to those who have wronged them. I was scared of being close to people because of this mentality. But now I realize… That all of that was in my head. I mean, I stuck by Glacius all this time, and nothing bad has happened to her, right? While filling in for Cheetah in Beijing, I formed meaningful bonds with everyone here. And even a certain someone we all want a bit of a piece of. Despite all of the attempts on his life, he still forgave us. Foolish he may be, he has a heart of gold, and he's only a fool if he lets anyone take that away from him. That's why, I have decided to devote myself to my new comrades, at a place where I know I truly belong!"
"Me, well… My mother is a sex slave. She has sold herself to so many men that no one truly knows how many children she really has." Glacius said. "They have all gone off on their own separate ways, except me and a half-brother, who make efforts to send her parts of our spoils for the jobs we take. I had to do a lot of jobs to do that kind of feat. It was when I met Esmeralda that I felt that someone understood my plight. Despite her reputation, she was willing to help me out however she can. I always relied on her for emotional support. But now, I stand here and now, ready to fight, for a cause I now truly believe in!"
"As for me… I probably deserve the title of hero the least out of everyone here. Maybe even out of anyone I have come to associate with. But you know what? That's fine with me. Considering my reputation back home, a lot of people are no doubt scared of me, and they have every right to be." Cheetah said. "But despite that… Even past their fear, there are those that place their faith in myself and my abilities when it matters the most."
"(Say what you will about her background, but rivals make good fighting partners because they know each so well…)" Cheetah heard David's voice say from a distant memory. "(That one person that, when the chips are down…you want on your side!)"
"I may not have been the most friendly to them, but I am willing to admit that I had a good experience traveling with them for a short while. And I managed to recreate that magic with everyone gathered here. Human and Beast, two worlds were I feel I didn't belong, now coming together to form the ultimate coalition, and there is no way I am letting anyone take that away!" Cheetah said.
"For yourself… For your friends… For the world… Faith… Justice… Love… Friendship… I can't stand hearing such things." Kuwalsa said. "Both Daemons and Humans are pathetic speciesthat can only live within the established order."
"Even though that makes you part of the equation?" Cheetah asked.
"You raise a fair point. Which is why I spent all this time working on my Dark Machine God." Kuwalsa said. "All so I could break free of this stunted existence as a Daemon. I will destroy this world and create a new order!"
"You believe yourself some kind of god? You're deluding yourself." Glacius said.
"Are you saying that your ideals are superior to mine? If so… Prove it to me, felines!" Kulwasa said.
"Gladly!" the group said as they launched a full assault on Kuwalsa, cultimating in Cheetah, Esmeralda, Glacius and Nesma combining their attacks on the final blow.
"So… It would seem that your ideals won out after all…" Kuwalsa said as the machine was primed to explode. "Kaido… Forgive me… I have failed you…" he said as the machine exploded with him, particles of light rising from below. The Dark Current completely dissipated as light shined across the world again.
"Look at that… It's so beautiful." Glacius said.
"Yes… Quite a breathtaking sight. Nesma said.
Cheetah's Narration: With the menace of the Dark Current gone from the surface, humans were released from the Daemonic oppression. After a thousand years of division, the world was whole again. Now, a new era begins beneath a blue sky…
"Thank you all so much for helping us out." Azura said with her blindfold off, her sight restored.
"You may not consider yourselves heroes… But you were definitely the ones we needed. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts." Barbarosa said.
"Yes. With Kuwalsa gone… Perhaps now this world can finally rebuild into what it once was." Gene said.
"It will take some time, but the people will come together again. Our battle has only just begun." Renzo said.
"That's right. You all said that there was a favor you wanted to ask of us." Ignace said.
"Yes, that's right. It may seem a little out of the blue to ask you this after you all have just gotten your world back, but… There is another battle waiting up ahead, against someone so powerful that his very presence will make even Kuwalsa tremble in fear. We're asking you all to lend us your strength for the coming battle." Cheetah said.
"You mean, that Kaido guy? Pfft… Come on, you already know the answer to that!" Rachel said.
"Of course we will do it. It is the least we can do to repay you after all the work you put into helping us." Vivian said.
"I take it that is alright with you, Ignace?" Esmeralda asked.
"If that is milady wishes, then we shall see it done." Ignace said with a smile on his face.
"Ignace is right. You helped us all out against Kuwalsa, and now it will be our turn to return the favor." Galil said. "We'll gather up any forces we can on our end until the day comes that you call us in."
"Once it's time to assemble, just give us the coordinates, and it is go time!" Tiggy said.
"Thank you, all of you. You will be a huge help." Glacius said. "Under that day comes… See you guys around."
Reformed Society soon assemble back in the Dark Cruiser.
"So, what's the plan? Are we gonna get back to the others?" Yangus asked.
"Not just yet. There are still a few others we need to consider." Cheetah said.
"We can't count on our buddies back home that are in Universal Prison. They wouldn't, not for us. Especially after everything that happened with Brainiac." Captain Cold said.
"Perhaps not. I know Diana might not, even after we arrange for their release." Cheetah said. "They are still others, however… Like the crew of the Archangel."
"Those guys? Hmm… Yeah, I can totally see that happening." Agito said.
"We helped them out in their wars twice. I am sure they are more than willing to return the favor." Riesz said.
"Hmm… I'm not sure if she'll help, but… I can probably arrange something with Aslana." Esmeralda said.
"Aslana? That Lioness Beastman? Are you sure she'll be willing to cooperate?" Glacius asked.
"Hard to say. Now that she is a part of Dark Forest, it's hard to say where her allegiance lies." Esmeralda said.
"And then there is Dark Sandstorm. We don't know much about them, but I can tell most of them are really powerful." Nesma said.
"And then there are those Smashers and those from the King of Fighters tournament. But… Some from both groups might be more willing than others." Belladonna said.
"Then again, there is also that slight chance that Kaido might've gotten to those two Dark Garden branches first, especially the more hostile of the Smashers." Toya said.
"Well, there are beasts among the Dark Garden branches, so it is possible." Esmeralda said.
"Either way, wherever their allegiances lie, we'll cross that bridge when we get there." Cheetah said. "For now, though… We have a few calls to make."
"And by few… You probably mean a lot." Yangus said.
"You know it. Better start now while we can." Cheetah said.
