1. Protagonist : the character who has a problem to solve

2. Antagonist : the person or thing that creates obstacles for the protagonist as they try to solve their problems

3. Major character(s): are very important to the plot and the audience (Reader) gets to know a lot about them

4. Minor character(s): support the story of the main characters, but they are not the focus of the story

5. Flat character(s): do not show a wide variety of traits during the story

6. Round character(s): Are more complex and show a wide range of traits that make them seem more multi-dimensional

7. Static character(s): don't change during the story

8. Dynamic character(s): grow, learn. or change in some way as a result of their experiences during the story

9. Traits : more long-term, stable characteristics a character possesses such as their physical build and their temperament

10. Character foil: is a character who strongly contrasts with another, which makes that characters traits even more noticeable to the audience

11. Example: Draco Malfoy VS Harry Potter

12. Feelings: more transitory emotional reactions a characters has to events that happened to them

13. Motivation: why does a character do what he/she/they does

14. Goal: what a character wants to do or achieve

16. Characterization: how an author reveals the personality of a character

17. Direct characterization: the author tells you about a character

18. Indirect characterization: the author shows you what a character is like
