welcome to the prologue of my newest 'Fruits Basket' fanfiction. my readers probably won't approve of this, but this very 'Fruits Basket' fanfiction is based upon a version of the 'Cinderella' story that, while everyone else probably thought it was garbage, I had always found strangely entertaining for one reason or another. anyway, this prologue is a total of two-hundred-seventy-three words worth of my 'Fruits Basket' fanfiction's own storyline, not including this headnote by yours truly, right here, and the following disclaimer. it's not exactly that much like the original 'Cinderella' story, but I still think that this fanfiction will beat the heck out of the trainwreck of a play production in the actual series that was 'Cinderella-ish' or 'Sorta Cinderella' or whatever else it was called in the 'Fruits Basket' series. while a lot of other people liked it, it felt... disturbing to me. I thought I was gonna be emotionally scarred for life from it, I found it so bad. anyways, on with the disclaimer for the prologue.
disclamation: I do not own 'Fruits Basket' in any way, shape, or form. unless owning the manga and its sequel, 'Fruits Basket Another', in the form of books and the anime in the form of Bluray/DVD combopacks would count, which I do not think it does in terms of ownership on the production values. in terms of owning the production of the manga and both of the animes, themselves, however, I own nothing. all ownership rights are reserved for Natsuki Takaya-san, TV Tokyo in Japan, and the FUNimation Anime Company in the US of A. still, I don't know what Natsuki was thinking when she came up with a play production like what she had Tohru Honda, Yuki and Kyo Sohma, Saki Hanajima, Arisa Uotani, and the rest of Class 2-D put on that was a trainwreck like that, but she must have lost her mind with that kind of writing.
This is a 'Fruits Basket' fanfiction about Kyo Sohma and Tohru Honda which I have based upon a sort of parody of the story of 'Cinderella', only a little different than your average, everyday 'Cinderella' story, though not anywhere near as different as that god awful 'Cinderella-ish' play from the 'Fruits Basket' series, itself. That play was so inaccurately cast, that it looked more like a mockery of the 'Cinderella' story, to me, than a true parody of the tale. Honestly speaking, I think that the only accurately cast character in that entire play was that of Minami Kinoshita as the Wicked Stepmother.
And that would be the whole reason I'm writing this fanfiction as a true parody of 'Cinderella' that is a lot more accurately cast and ten times as in keeping with the 'Fruits Basket' series, itself, than some stupidly and horrendously miscast play like that of the trainwreck that was 'Cinderella-ish'. I think that the class would have been better off going with even a different fairy tale, at least, for their class play.
Yeah! I said it. 'Cinderella-ish' was so horrendously miscast that Class 2-D would have been better off with a different kind of play than what they had. That kind of casting faux pas was something that NO amount of rewriting the script could ever make up for in even a billion years. They should have really reconsidered the cast in the play they were putting on, or at least chosen a different fairy tale.
This 'Cinderella' story is also narrated by the character playing the best friend of the 'Cinderella' character from parody this 'Cinderella' story.
