Goosebumps: The Legends Of Dark Falls Chapter 1 Prologue
POV: ?
I wiped the sweat from my brow. It was early summer and it felt like it was hundred degrees out. I glanced over my shoulder at Amanda. She looked just as bad as I felt. "How much further?" She asked impatiently.
I unfolded my map from my pocket and stared at it. "We have a few more miles to go." I heard her give an exhausted sigh.
We had been walking for hours and our clothes were starting to get dirty. We had been in the rain the night before and our clothes were still wet. We didn't get much sleep and we were making a beeline for shelter.

Someone must've been here recently. I thought. The previous family? Maybe.
My heart was beating fast in my chest. It was almost too much to bear. Seeing it again. All those years of…. well, that won't matter if there isn't anyone here anymore.
I heard a noise coming from the inside of the house. I looked back at my sister who was sitting on the steps, keeping an eye out. "Stay here. I'll check the house."
"Be careful." She said seriously.
"I will." I replied.
I turned around, stepped up the stairs, and to the front door. My hands were shaking like crazy as I grabbed the handle. I took a few short breaths, and opened the door.
