Shadow watched the large cloud of black smoke engulf the sky to their west. His arm where crossed as he leaned against the side of the small bar, inside the modest city of Kemp. A deep breath filled the tall hedgehog's lungs, as his attention had recently been turned from rounding up powerful mages to the mysterious disaster taking place likely just a day's ride away. Shadow's focus shifted as one of his men walked up to him and kneeled as he bowed his head.

"Well?" The commanding knight inquired.

"It's likely The Citadel of Lake Born, sir. It seems The Order of Gaia has finally made a striking blow against The High Counsel." The young, devoted knight responded to his group leader.

"Heathens killing heathens…" Shadow mused out loud. "It almost sounds too good to be true giving the current spineless Kings we've been cursed with." Shadow turned his attention back to the smoke bellowing into the air as he rubbed his chin. The black hedgehog kicked away from the wall, he was leaning on, with the bottom of his boot as he dug into a satchel at his side. "We'll await word from our brethren. After that we'll know how the Lord wants us to proceed."

"What of the bard, sir?" The young feline recruit looked up to his better. "Shall we execute him?"

"No." Shadow didn't even bother looking back at his underling as his lit up a hand rolled cigarette. "If our target did survive, she'll come back for him. We have enough information on her to know that much."

Static could hear the frantic chatter of many of their guildsmen before the west tower even came into view. He looked towards Sandy to see her smile back at him in delight, likely due to them finding some of their lost comrades. He returned her smile, but only because he was happily with her, as he had no real interest in the others. Although, he knew full well the more allies in your party made for a better chance to win the battle, but there is where his use for the others started and ended.

As the two squirrels pushed through the brush to get to the clearing to the tower they were met by at least 30 terrified faces. Static wasn't surprised they wouldn't be happy to see him but this fear was something new. The two pressed forward, still holding hands, to join the group before they were stopped by one of their elders.

"Dispel those repugnant fiends, Necromancer!" The elderly, male, ox commanded as he stepped in front of the squirrels.

Static looked back at his conquered undead, and then back at his so-called teacher. "Last I checked we were under attack, so it seems to me we could use all the help we can get… even your's old man." A cocky smirk crossed his face as he pushed past the ox, and moved his grip from Sandy's hand to her waist. He found himself finally filling into his place in things. His woman by his side and The High Counsel ultimately quavering before him.

"Static." Sandy placed a hand on his shoulder and looked at him pleadingly.

Static sighed in defeat of her unspoken demand. How could he say no to her? He lifted his free hand up and recanted a spell causing his small undead army of five to walk off. "They'll patrol the towers border and alert me to anyone approaching."

"What if they kill some of us?" a voice from the crowed asked frightened.

"They won't kill unless I demand it." Static reassured.

"Can he really control them?" Another asked.

"This doesn't feel right." Yet another yelled out.

"Even elementals have some free will." More brought up.

Static was use to this sort of doubt and belittlement, but for some reason… right here, and right now he found himself on the edge of losing his cool. That was until Sandy wrapped her arm around his waist to finally follow his cue. "I trust you." She reassured him loud enough for everyone else to hear.

"I love you." He blurted out under his breath without thinking causing her to look away and blush only making him pull her closer to him.

"Can you two save your instinctual reproducing for later?" A blue cat asked as she stepped out from behind the crowed. "Our necromancer, Static, is correct, as we are under attack. The only question is do we start to fight back, or pull back to gather more forces?"

"I'm more than willing ta do my part but-" She stopped and looked at her peers apologetically. "I gotta make sure everyone in Kemp is alright first."

"Then you best make hast." The blue cat replied.

Sandy bowed to her elder. " Thank ya Mei, I will return soon!"

Static grabbed her arm as she turned to run off. "I'm not letting you go alone."

Sandy looked back at him lovingly. "This ain't yer problem, sugar."

"It is now." Static stated determinedly.

Sandy smiled brightly at him, and then looked at Mei to get her nod of approval. After that Sandy grabbed his hand so she could lead the way for them this time.

(I feel and update coming on... cause I was trapped driving for 10 hours straight.)
