Issei's Incinerate Anthem (A DXD Fanfiction)
Chapter 3 (Swing Swing)
Scene (Hyoudou Household early evening)
In a quiet kitchen, we now see our main protagonist, hand washing dishes. While thinking about that strange Akeno girl, Issei gets distracted, accidentally cutting one of his hands on a sharp knife that was under the bubbly water. Raising his hand toward his face, he looks at the viscous crimson liquid, leaking from the tip of his thumb, just watching. Images of his final moments with his parents start to replay, however Issei shakes them off, putting his thumb in his mouth, tasting copper.
Shutting the lights off in the kitchen, the teen starts to make his way toward his bedroom. Walking down a hallway, Issei seems to have passed his bedroom, walking toward the large room that lay across the other side of the home. The door is shut. Issei now sits on the ground, laying his back against the shut door of the room as he would not go inside. Panning out of this hallway, we see the teen, sitting with his back against his dead parents bedroom door, with his eyes closed.
Scene (Backyard of the Hyoudou Home)
Sitting in some outdoor furniture we can now see Akeno talking on her cellphone. She is not alone as another girl, sitting opposite of her, is quietly munching on some strawberry poki. This girl was almost the polar opposite of Akeno. Instead of long pitch black hair, this girl had shoulder length white hair. She also had a height difference on a massive scale, the white haired girl being much more petite compared to her counterpart.
This was Koneko Toujou, the unofficial mascot of Kuoh Academy. Considering all of the physical differences between the girls, one thing was for certain. Like Rias Gremory, these girls were devils. Akeno can now be heard, speaking to somebody on the phone. "Yes president, we've made it here. What? No, I haven't seen him. Do you think he followed us?" Koneko is looking around the backyard while eating her snacks, then she stops and smells the air. Akeno notices this and puts a hand over her phone, "anything Koneko?" The said girl nods, "Kiba is here". Akeno smiles then puts her phone back near her lips, "about Kiba, it looks like he wants to help us out."
Then after a few more minutes, "of course President, consider it done, good evening and sleep well." After Akeno puts her phone down, he then slowly turns her head behind her, "hello Kiba-kun, nice night, isn't it?" We now see a third figure in this backyard. He is a blond male that is very popular at his highschool. Considered the prince of Kuoh, Kiba Yuto can usually be found with a swarm of random girls flocking to him at all times. We see him now, standing with his arms folded, "Vice president, Koneko, I figured maybe I should see what you two are up to. Personally, I am having a hard time wanting to fall asleep, so I thought, hey why not help out on a mission?" Akeno and Koneko both nod, then Akeno replies, "welcome to Hyoudou-Stalkers club, Kiba." Kiba lightly laughs nervously.
Akeno then gets serious, "Koneko, what is he doing right now?" Looking up at her queen, she then turns her head toward the upstairs part of the house, she then closes her eyes and smells the air. "He is upstairs, in a hallway. I don't feel anything else, not unless I get closer." Akeno nods, "well, team, I suppose we should invite ourselves in?" Kiba and Koneko nod.
Scene (the hallway)
What used to be a sitting figure is not a curled and sleeping figure, still in front of his parents' old bedroom door. (CRASH) Issei is immediately awakened by a loud sound from downstairs. Assuming the worst, Issei makes a very quiet dash toward his bedroom. Once in his room, he opens his closet door, looking desperately for the one thing that could offer some protection from whatever was in his house. We see clothes and other items being tossed out of the closet.
This happens for a minute, that is until we see Issei leaving his closet, brandishing a tennessee slugger wooden baseball bat. Looking at the weapon, Issei swings it once, then nods in satisfaction. He then hears another noise, like footsteps from downstairs. On what was a blank looking face, a very small grin can be seen. "Maybe that asshole came back to finish the job, well, that's all good. He can kill me all he likes. So what? "Oh no" I get to be with my parents again. Or, the unlikely chance that I get the drop on him, well, I can get my revenge! Either way, no matter how you look at it, this is a good, great thing!" Issei stealthily leaves his room, making his way toward the staircase, his baseball bat in tow.
As he gets halfway down the stairs, raised voices can now be heard. "I wonder if he is eating healthy, being alone and all?" "Someone in his position would either have to learn to take care of themselves or rely on instant food." "Guy's look in his fridge! The leftovers would suggest he cooks, look at that american pot roast, wow, I guess Issei is full of surprises" Hearing what sounds like two female voices and a male. All of these voices somehow sounded familiar. These were not the voices of soldiers or monsters, these weren't even adults, no, they were kids. Curious as all hell, Issei makes his way toward the bottom of the stares, gripping his baseball bat ever so tightly.
Being able to see his kitchen from where he was, (while not being noticed), three figures can be seen, looking inside of his refrigerator. Then it registered. Three of the most popular people in his school were now in his house, in his kitchen, talking about his cooking skills? Finally having enough, Issei reaches for the lightswitch toward his left, flicking the switch. All three devils stand at attention, looking as though they got caught with their hands in a cookie jar.
Akeno, shocked at first, now sees a very battle-ready Issei, holding a large wooden weapon, pointing it at the three of them. He does not look very happy. Kiba then notices this and looks around kitchen, spotting a wooden broom. He dashes for it, then busts the sweeper end of the broom, leaving a makeshift staff like weapon in the process. Right afterwards, he gets into a kendo stance. Issei notices this, especially the stance Kiba was making. Koneko looks at both Kiba, then Issei, then finally her queen, (who is completely focused on Issei). Deciding that this could make things far worse, Koneko jumps over Kiba and dashes toward the bat-wielding teenager. Issei notices this and sets his stance for a home-run.
