Kailyn took off her heels and walked barefooted towards the hall. Roman was saying goodbye to the final guest which was a young secretary recently hired for the company. He had been flirting with her the entire evening, even in front of Kailyn.
"I'll call you tomorrow," he said. "You better put on something sexy tomorrow night because I'm coming over."
Kailyn rolled her eyes at hearing that. She stepped closer and peeked through the door. Of course he was kissing the other woman. It was the first time he brought this open marriage inside their own walls but she wasn't even surprised.
"Goodnight, sexy," he said.
The secretary left. Roman locked the door, turned around, and came face to face with Kailyn. He just smirked at her despite having been caught.
"Isn't it pretty cliché to fuck the secretary?" She asked.
"Are you jealous?" He asked.
"No, she's not my type," she said.
His smile fell and he walked past her. She followed behind. They both ignored the mess from the party and went to the bedroom. She would be tasked to clean up tomorrow, but right now she couldn't even handle thinking about it. She just wanted to sleep but she was upset with him.
"You promised never to bring it home with you," she said.
"Maybe I changed my mind," he said.
He smirked again and moved closer. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her. It didn't take long before she found herself down on the bed with him on top of her. He pushed the cocktail dress up to her hips and opened his dress pants. He fumbled to get her panties to the side so he could enter her. She broke in that moment. She couldn't stop it. She bawled her eyes out like never before. He was so shocked that he moved back to sit on his knees. She rolled over on her side and pulled herself to the edge of the bed. She got out of bed and stood there with her dress still up to her hips and her face wet of tears.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"I can't do this anymore," she said.
"Do what?" He asked.
"This! Us!" She yelled. "I want a divorce!"
That made him jump out of bed fast. He walked over to her and reached for her. She backed away from him but he followed step by step until her back connected with the wall.
"We're not getting a divorce," he said.
"I don't wanna be with you anymore," she said.
"You're upset. It's alright. You had too much champagne tonight and you're making up stories in your head again," he said.
He placed his hands on her hips and leaned down to kiss her neck.
"Let's just take it slow tonight," he said. "Let me be good to you. I can warm you right up. You know you like that."
"If you do anything to me, it will be rape," she said.
He snapped his head back and stared at her. She had never used that word before.
"I said no, Roman," she said. "I always fucking say no. No means no. If you touch me, it's rape. Are you a fucking rapist, Roman?"
The tears in her eyes had stopped running, and all he saw was anger now. She had had enough. He knew he couldn't win this fight tonight. He took a step back and held out his hand.
"Go sleep in the guest room then," he said.
She walked past him and slammed the door after her. She pulled her dress back down and walked out in the cold night. She was freezing and not thinking straight. She just needed to get out of there, and she forgot all about putting shoes and a jacket on. She ran through the night and didn't stop until she reached Drew's house. She started banging on the door until he finally woke up and opened. She looked at him with makeup smeared all over her face. It wasn't hard to tell she had been crying. He pulled her into his arms and held her tight.
"I want a divorce," she said.
"Let's get you a divorce then," he said.
"I'm gonna lose everything," she said.
"You won't lose me," he said. "If your family takes his side, fuck them. You're better than them. How about friends? Anyone we should call or something?"
"Carmella and Alexa," she said. "They know most of it. They're the only ones who never left."
"Great friends," he said.
He broke the hug and instead leaned down to place a soft kiss on her lips.
"Let's get some sleep," he said.
"Just sleep?" She asked.
"Yes, just sleep," he said. "I'm not gonna take advantage of you. Not tonight, not ever. Tonight we sleep. Tomorrow we figure out this whole mess."
