Roman was feeling frustrated and angry. When he first woke up the day after his party and didn't find Kailyn at home, he didn't think much about it. He figured she had gone to Carmella or Alexa to cool off.

That night he went to fuck his secretary like he had said he would the night before. She had been worth it. This was why he had hired her. He would have some fun with her for a few months and then make up a reason to fire her once he got bored of her.

When he returned home that night, he got angry. Kailyn had been there while he was gone. She had cleared out her wardrobe. Most clothes, shoes and personal belongings were gone, but she had left the expensive things he had bought for her. The gold cocktail dress had been placed on the bed like a mocking gift for him.

He had called and texted but her phone remained shut off. He had contacted Carmella and Alexa that both swore up and down that they hadn't seen her. He had even driven past their places several times but she wasn't there.

Monday morning he called her work, only to be told she had called in to quit. That was shocking to him. She loved her job. For the first time he got nervous that she might was planning on hurting herself somehow.

He finally bit the bullet, went to work, and went to talk to her father. Her father was surprised and called her mother. Her mother hadn't heard anything either. Kailyn was like sunken in the ground. No one knew where she was.

Two days later her phone was no longer only shut off. It was out of service. The phone number no longer existed. That pissed him off even further. It was clear she was going through with her words and that she didn't want to be with him anymore.

Friday morning his lawyer had called. Apparently she had gotten a new lawyer that had contacted him. She wanted a divorce. He had yelled at his lawyer that he refused, but as always the other man remained calm and talked him down. A meeting was set in his office for Monday.

Monday had finally arrived. He was prepared for a battle. He would fight her all the way on every little thing. He would break her to a point where she gave up and finally came back home where she belonged.

He walked into the building and found his lawyer Paul Heyman waiting. Kailyn had already arrived with her lawyer Wade Barrett. Roman sneered at the man. He already hated him for the simple fact that he was her lawyer. Paul was supposed to be both of their lawyer. He was a pitbull no matter what battle he fought for the company or any of them personally.

"Okay, we all know why we're here," Wade started.
"When are you gonna stop this stupid quest of hurting me and come home?" Roman asked.

Wade looked at Kailyn who shook her head no. She was never coming home. It wasn't her home anymore.

"I want a divorce, Roman," Kailyn said.
"I'm not giving you one," Roman said.
"We can go to court," Kailyn said.
"I will fight you every step of the way," Roman threatened. "Want the house? Forget about it. It's mine. Everything inside it is mine. You're not getting any of my money either."
"I don't want anything," Kailyn said.

Roman's jaw dropped. He was sure he could keep this going for a long time. He wasn't prepared for her to sign over everything to him. If there was nothing to fight about, he didn't have a leg to stand on.

"I just want to be free of you," Kailyn said.
"You don't get to make that choice!" Roman yelled.

Roman slammed his fist down on the table. All three people jumped in surprise. Paul placed his hand over Roman's wrist to keep him calm.

"Easy," Paul said. "Like my client said, you're not getting anything. Not even alimony."
"And like my client said, she doesn't want anything," Wade said. "Sign the papers and everything is yours."

Wade pushed the papers over to Roman. Roman and Paul both looked through it. Kailyn seriously didn't want anything. Roman's lip quivered. He looked up to meet her eyes.

"Am I really that bad that you can't stand being with me anymore?" Roman asked.
"Yes," Kailyn answered. "I haven't loved you for a long time. I don't even know if you love me anymore either. You haven't told me in two years."
"I do," Roman swallowed. "I do, Kailyn. Believe me."
"You can't even say it," Kailyn sighed. "It's okay, Roman. Sign the papers and let's go our separate ways. Don't you want to be happy? Don't you think we both deserve to be happy? We're not happy together."

He looked down at the papers, grabbed the pen, and signed. The moment his signature was there, he regretted it. He wanted to tear the papers to shreds but Wade grabbed them before he could.

"All set," Wade said.
"Wait, I don't want to after all," Roman said. "Who cares if we don't love each other? We're a good team. Everyone knows us. We're on top together."
"It's not enough for me," Kailyn said.
"Think about your parents. They'll disown you," Roman said.
"I'm well aware of that, and I'm okay with that," Kailyn said. "Let's go."
"No!" Roman yelled. "I demand you hand those papers back! I demand you destroy them!"
"Roman, let it go. It's too late," Paul said.
"No!" Roman yelled even louder. "That's my fucking wife! She's not fucking divorcing me!"
"I think it's time for us to leave," Wade said.

Wade and Kailyn stood up. Roman slammed his hands down on the table and stood up too. He wanted to jump over the table and wrap his hands around Wade's neck before forcing Kailyn to return home with him. The only thing holding him back was Paul's hand on his arm.

"Don't make this into a police matter," Paul said.
"You'll regret this!" Roman snarled at Kailyn. "You'll fucking regret this!"
"Goodbye, Roman," Kailyn said.
"You have nothing, you bitch!" Roman yelled. "You were even stupid enough to quit your job. How the hell are you gonna pay for anything? Your parents will cut you off too. You know that. Your savings are only gonna take you so far. You'll come crawling back soon enough, and I'll let you back in because that's the kind of man I am. I don't fucking leave my wife behind after all we've been through."
"I wish you would have," Kailyn said. "I wish you would understand the amount of pain you put me through. Maybe one day you'll think about everything you've done leading up to this moment. I hope so."

Wade and Kailyn walked out of the office. Roman stared at her back, hoping she would turn back around and go home with him. She killed that hope when she closed the door behind her. They took the elevator down and walked out to the parking lot.

"You're a free woman," Wade smiled. "Anything else you need my help with?"
"Not today. Thank you, Wade," Kailyn said.
"Just doing my job," Wade said.

Kailyn got into her car and drove straight to Drew's catering company. She parked the car and walked inside. Drew lit up in a smile and hurried over to kiss her. His two workers stopped what they were doing and stared at them.

"This is Baron and Sheamus," Drew said. "And this here is Kailyn. She's gonna work with desserts so that Baron no longer has to pull double duty."
"Thank fuck," Baron said. "I'm already so busy with everything else. You've been stressing me out."
"Oi! Suck it up, lad," Sheamus chuckled. "Welcome aboard, Kailyn. I hope you bake better than this lad here."
"Oh, shut up!" Baron laughed.
"I can bake," Kailyn grinned. "Alright, let's get started. What's on the menu today?"
"Some rich kid's 10 year old birthday. I swear half the country is invited. She wants ten different cheesecakes. It's all on a list at your station right over here," Drew said.

Drew took Kailyn's hand and pulled her over to her station. She looked at the list, smiled, and nodded.

"This is gonna be easy," Kailyn said.

"We must never be apart."

They both started laughing when they heard that playing on the radio.

"It's a fucked up song but it feels like it's our song," she laughed.

He nodded in agreement and leaned in closer.

"How did it go?" He asked lowly.
"He yelled a bit and then finally signed," she said. "I'll tell you all about it later."
"Later," he smirked. "When we're going home and I show you how much I worship you."

She bit her lip. It was weird already calling Drew's house her home but it felt right. It felt like they had known each other all their lives. He chuckled and leaned down to peck her lips.

"That's all the sugar you're gonna get while we're at work. Gotta be professional," he winked. "Alright, guys, we got a birthday today. Let's start cooking."
