Meanwhile, Ruby and Yang had escaped via their bedroom windows and were on route to Beacon in an effort to help thwart Dr. Merlot's plan. When they arrived at campus, they were shocked to find a mutant Beowolf one step away from eliminating Professor Port. So Ruby shot at it from the front while Yang punched it in the back. The Beowolf ran to chase Ruby as Yang followed behind to attack.
After punching it in the face and landing a K.O shot on the Beowolf, Yang high fived Ruby.
"It looks like this is going to be rough since there's so many strange Grimm around here. We'll have to watch each other's backs and get to Professor Ozpin's office. That way we can tell him we're here to help fight the Grimm." Yang whispered.
Ruby nodded in agreement before her and Yang went to the elevator. Luckily, no Grimm were near the elevator or outside of Professor Ozpin's office. However, they did notice a peculiar looking man talking with Professor Ozpin. The man appeared to be an elderly man with disheveled gray hair, a matching mustache,beard and prominent eyebrows. His left eye was robotic and glowed red. Around it were noticeable claw marks, likely from his Grimm experiments. His right arm was also robotic. It was dark and metallic with red inner circuits.
"Who are you? Do you have something to do with the green Grimm here?" Yang interrogated.
"So these are the students you claimed to be most hopeful would achieve great things? Such foolish nonsense, they will tread no further." Merlot remarked as everyone heard a metallic grinding behind them.
Ruby and Yang turned around to see the elevator fall down the shaft because of the mutant Beowolf they saw earlier.
"Good luck." Merlot commented as emergency shutters seperated the sisters from their goal.
The Beowolf slammed its fists onto the ground to create a line of green crystal spikes that made a beeline for Ruby and Yang who barely dodged the attack. Ruby used her Petal Burst Semblance to get behind the Beowolf and slice its back open with Cresent Rose. The Beowolf turned around, hoping to see what caused it such grave injury. However, when the Grimm turned around, there was nothing there.
Seeing the Beowolf's confusion as an opportunity, Ruby sliced the Beowolf's head off before using Cresent Rose to pry the emergency doors open and entered the room with Yang.
"Whoever you are, this ends now!" Ruby yelled.
Dr. Merlot laughed.
"You are mere children, you cannot stop me. You have no true training, no skill, or even any control over your Semblance's." Merlot mocked.
"You're right. We're still kids, but you don't know us. We've been training, we have control over our Semblance's and we do have skill. We also have willpower, courage, strength and most importantly, each other. And those are things you'll never have." Yang smirked while Dr. Merlot was backing up.
He eventually backed up into the wall behind Professor Ozpin's desk. Yang punched the glass behind Dr. Merlot and shoved him through where she shattered the glass and watched as Dr. Merlot fell to his death.
"Um, we aren't getting expelled for this are we?" Ruby worried.
"Not at all miss Rose, you and miss Xiao Long have done the world a great service today. You are no longer suspended as well." Ozpin responded.
"So, how long until the students can return?" Yang pondered.
"At least three weeks based off the damage done." Ozpin answered.
However, the emergency doors fell after Professor Ozpin finished his sentence.
"Make that four weeks." Ozpin added.
"Well, I guess we'd better get home, come on Ruby." Yang commented.
"Um, the elevator's broken, remember?" Ruby noticed.
"Then we'll use the stairs." Yang notified.
