(A few minutes earlier)

"Great Jabba! How much medical stuff do you need, Focus?!" Droid adjusted a bunch of the supplies in his hands.

"Many! It's not just for us, y'know!" Focus said. He was holding a bunch of the food in a large bag. "What if we find more injured-"

"SHH!" Clover kneed him in the back. "Focus! Don't forget where we are!" He gestured around him, to where a few more clones were walking.

Focus bit his lip. "Oops, sorry," He said. "It's been a long day. I-"

"CLOVER! CLOVER! COME IN!"

Clover dropped his share of supplies and pressed his com button. "Gap! It's Clover! What-"

"WE'VE BEEN CAUGHT!"

Clover's first instinct was to run.

"CLOVER! THE SUPPLIES!" Focus yelled.

"FORGET THE SUPPLIES!" CLover yelled. "WE GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE!"

A few of the clones scouting the city pointed at the running squad. "Hey! It's them! The Ghost Squad!" one of them said, holding up his blaster. "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, SOLDIERS! YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

"Gap! Can you fly?!"

"NNo, but the ship can!" Gap said through the com.

"This is no time for your stupid jokes! Do you know how to fly the ship?!"

"Sure! I'm a clone! I'm supposed to!" Clover could hear a bunch of shooting from Gap's end.

"Well, get that ship up and running! I sent you our coordinates!" Clover yelled. We don't have much time! Do NOT let ANYBODY get Bugsi!"

Dozens of clones were on their tails, shooting at them left and right. The squad had to jump and roll to avoid getting shot.

Clover kept his gun in stun, and started shooting at the clones. He was a good shot, so most of them fell to the ground unconscious. "Gap! Hurry up! I don't know how much longer we can hold them for!"

"I'm trying!" Gap said. "HEY! GET AWAY FROM THEM!" A loud punch erupted from his side, as well as a pained scream. "Alright! I'm coming! I got the door closed! I'll see you in a bit!"

"I don't have a bit! I need you here n-ACK!" Clover was kneed in the back by another soldier. Clover clattered to the ground, and the soldier pinned his back down with his knee.

"Don't move, or I'll shoot you, traitor," The trooper said, holding his blaster to his head. "If you had hair, I'd yank your head up to keep you here,"

Clover grit his teeth. "Well, it's a good thing for me I don't, because then, I couldn't do this!" Clover whipped his head back as hard as he could into the soldier's face.

"GAH!" The soldier fell back, giving Clover a space to run free. He grabbed his blaster, and shot all the soldiers holding down his brothers.

Just then, a large shadow was cast over them.

"CLOVER! HURRY UP! CLIMB THIS!"

Above them was their ship. Bugsi was leaning outside the door.

"BUGSI! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!" Clover yelled.

"I'M FINE, BUT YOU WON'T BE IF YOU DON'T GRAB ON RIGHT NOW!" She demanded. She threw down a pulley rope, and Clover caught it.

"MOVE MEN! MOVE!" Clover started to climb, and all of his men followed.

As soon as all of the Ghost Squad was on the rope, they lifted the ship into the air.

"HOLD ON! I'M PULLING YOU GUYS UP!" Bugsi went back inside the ship, and slowly, the rope started to move up.

Clover smiled. "We're almost there! We're almost-" He stopped in his tracks when he saw the rope slowly fraying a few feet above him. Each small strand was snapping underneath their weight. "BUGSI! STOP PULLING!"

"WHY?" She yelled.

"THE ROPE'S BREAKING!" Clover looked down. "MEN! STOP MOVING!"

Focus and Droid both stayed still on the rope. Their weight was increased, from all the supplies they were holding on their backs.

"Just, stay calm," Clover said, booking down at them. "It's gonna be fine,"

Droid's hands were shaking. "I-I dunno how much longer I can hold on!" Tears were forming in his eyes.

"Hey, it's gonna be okay, just calm down," He wrapped the rope once around one hand, and reached down to Droid with the other. "Slowly reach for my hand,"

"I-I can't hold on with one hand!" Droid said.

"Yes you can," CLover said. "Come on, Droid! We have no time to waste!"

Droid shakily let go of the rope with one hand, and reached for Clover's with his other.

"That's it, almost there," Clover said.

Droid grasped for Clover's fingers, but his own fingers barely grazed them.

"Almost…there…" Clover's hand was starting to hurt from the tightness of the rope. He reached further down to Droid's hand, and grasped it firmly into his own. "Good! Good! You got it!" He looked down at Focus. "You good down there, Focus?"

"I'm fine!" FOcus said.

Alright! Droid is going to reach down for your hand! Be prepared to grab it!"

"What is the point of all this?!" Focus said.

I have a plan! You're going to have to trust me!" Clover looked up at the breaking section of the rope. There were only a few fibers left. "If there's one thing you remember me saying, it's that no matter what happens, don't let go of each others hands, alright? Even if we do fall,"

Droid nodded and reached down for Focus' hand with his free one. "C'mon, Focus! Hurry!"

"I…Can't…reach!" Focus strained, barely grazing Droid's fingertips with his own.

"Droid! Reach further!" Clover yelled.

Droid shut his eyes, and reached further down to Focus. As far as he could.

Clover clenched his teeth as the weight of the two men below him tightened the rope, making it dig deep into the skin on his hand. "Come on! Hurry up!"

As soon as FOcus got enough grip, he grabbed Droid's hand. "I got it! I got-"

SNAP! The cable broke.

"AHHHHHHH!" They all screamed. They flailed in empty air, getting closer and closer to the ground below them.

"DON'T LET GO OF EACH OTHER'S HANDS!" Clover screamed, fumbling in his belt with his free hand. He grasped his Ascension cable gun, aimed at the ship, and pulled the trigger. The hook shot up, and hooked on the edge of the ship.

TWANG! The cable tightened, stopping their fall.

The three men dangled under the ship for a few moments, catching their breath.

"Holy…heck…" Focus wheezed. "We…almost…died…"

Clover chuckled nervously. "But we didn't, did we?" The hand holding his gun was shaking. He pressed a different button, slowly reeling them into the ship.

"THIS ISN'T OVER, TRAITORS! THE WHOLE GALAXY WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU! NOWHERE IS SAFE!" One of the clones yelled from down below.

When they got to the top of the ship, Bugsi, Ponzo, and Gap helped all the men back inside carefully. As soon as they got in, Bugsi threw her arms around Clover.

"I thought you were gonna die! Smash to the ground like a dead bird!" Tears flowed down her cheeks. "I thought I was gonna lose you!"

Clover patted her back softly. "Hey, hey now. Calm down. I'm okay," He said calmly.

Bugsi released her grip and looked at him with teary eyes. How did you know what to do?!"

"He's Clover! CT-7777! He always has the good ideas!" Gap said, crossing his arms.

Bugsi hugged him again. "Don't do it again. Please. If I lost you, it would be like losing my master all over again!"

Clover's heart melted. "You won't lose me, kid. If there's one thing you should know about me," He pulled away from the hug and wiped her tears away with his thumb. "Is that no matter what I go through, or whatever happens to me, I always get up,"

Bugsi smiled and nodded in response.
