Stupid Cat!
Why does he do that? Why does he have to do it every time, even after she keeps telling him to stop, stop, just stop. Why doesn't he listen? Why?!
"Because My Lady, I love you. And I will always risk my life for you. It's also this cat's duty and honour to sacrifice himself for you. Because you're the only one who can save the day. Me? I'm just the bait." He smiled, before he ran off to lead the Akuma away.
"Stupid Cat!" She muttered as she turned away to do her thing. Once again, having to watch him die to protect/save her. And every time she does, it chips a piece of her heart away.
"Miraculous Ladybug!" Throwing her Lucky Charm into the air, she waits rather impatiently for the lil' bugs. To bring back her Kitty, bring her Kitty back to her.
"Come on, come on." She watches as everything goes back to normal. But no Kitty, no terrible puns, no roses. "Oh Cat, where are you? This isn't funny…"
She swings off around the city, looking for him. But no one has seen him, no one. As each hour passes by, her heart sinks lower and lower. What if something happened? What if she didn't bring him back this time? What if he's gone, gone forever?
'Oh My Kitty, My poor Kitty. Where are you? Please, please, don't leave me.' Feeling her eyes fill with tears, she lands on their rooftop, her last spot to check. Nothing, empty.
Feeling the panic stir up inside of her chest, she falls to her knees and clutches at her chest. This, this simply isn't happening. This isn't happening. They brought him back, too. He's okay. He's, he's just off buying her roses? Yeah, that's it, roses.
Hearing the pitter patter of water hitting the ground, she opens her eyes to see the floor beneath her soaked from her tears. Tears she hadn't even realised were flowing. The only sounds in her ears were the sounds of her strangled breathing. As she tries to not hyperventilate.
It's been 5 hours now, 5 hours since they failed to bring him back. Failed to bring back the man she… she… "Oh Kitty…" She sobs, as she buries her face in her hands.
She must have fallen asleep during her sobs, because when she next opens her eyes. The Moon is high in the sky, winking down at her. The time being well past 1am. Despite that, no sign of her Kitty Kat. Does- does that mean. He really is, is…
"No, no, no, NO!" She screams at no one in particular. "Why… why? Why did he have to do it? Why did he sacrifice himself… for her? Stupid Cat, stupid, stupid Cat! WHY!" Slamming her fists down onto the roof, closing her eyes against the tears spilling a new down her face.
So deep in her agony, she did not hear the feet land behind her. "Sorry, I'm late Ladybug. But I-"
Ladybug freezes mid slams of her fists, and slowly sits up, not daring to believe it. Is that, is that her Kitty's voice. Is he really alive?! Or is she, is she dreaming? Slowly, she turns to face him. Her face red from the exertion of her grief, and wet from the sorrow of her tears.
Slowly, they lock eyes with each other. His in horror, at her pain. And hers in horror at the reality of him standing there, alive.
"Ki- Kitty? Is- is that you?" She manages to barely whisper, her voice hoarse from all the crying. Also, afraid if she raised her voice, he might vanish into the either of the night air.
"Of- of course, My Lady. What's… what happened?" He asks confused as to the way she appears. She looks terrible, almost. "Oh, Oh! My Lady, I'm so sorry!"
Rushing forward they meet in a tangle of limbs and sobs. Finally managing to lower themselves to the rooftop, her snuggling deep into the warmth and comfort of his arms. As he slowly sobs into her hair. Not realising the pain he had caused his love.
15 hours he had been gone, and not once did he ever think to message LB to say he's okay. Now, he sees that's a mistake. She thought he was dead, that she had lost him forever. Oh, the pain he had caused her. The suffering, he really is a Stupid Cat!
"I'm so sorry, My Love. I'm so, so sorry. I should have called, messaged, something." Sobbing into her hair, he tightens his painful grip on her.
She doesn't mind; the pain is proof that he's real, that she's not dreaming after all. "I was so scared, Kitty. I thought, I thought I was alone! That I'd lost you forever! Where have you been?!" She punches him in the chest, causing him to chuckle.
"Your bugs dropped me off in London for some reason. London! And 2 hours late! I was 2 hours late to get home. Then it took me another to get home. My family was furious! My Father screamed at me for another 2 hrs. Then sent me to my room, where I couldn't sneak out, because my- well, someone was in my room the whole time watching me. He even followed me into the toilet. Finally, around Midnight after I pretended to be asleep, he left. And I was able to come here to you. I should have told you I was alive before returning home. I'm so, sorry." He leans down and kisses her forehead while he massages her back.
"Stupid Cat!" She mutters as she snuggles, if possible, deeper into his arms.
"Very Stupid Cat, I'm sorry." He sniffs as he nuzzles her hair.
Ladybug doesn't know how long they sat like that, but she never wants to let him go again. Finally, her heart relaxed enough so she can breathe properly.
"You can't deny your feelings for me now, Bugaboo." Cat whispers into her hair.
She sits up to look at him. "Excuse you?"
He smiles as he fixes her hair. Brushing it from her cheek, causing a blush to form on her already red face.
"That? No one acts like that over friends, My Love." He leans forward and kisses the tip of her nose.
"Excuse you, that was more guilt than love." She huffs as she folds her arms around. Already missing his warmth around her, despite herself.
"Bull. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt, My Lady." He smiles, as he folds his arms as well, as if to mock her.
"Maybe, next time to Ladybugs can leave you in London." She snaps, as she climbs to her feet. Her legs wobblily from sitting on them for hours.
"Oh, well. Maybe I'll stay in London." He gets up and turns away from her slowly.
"No, wait!" She finds herself screaming, as she plunges herself back into his, sobbing once more. "Please, please, don't leave me Kitty!"
Blinking, he looks down at her and sighs. As he wraps his arms around her once more. He had only been reaching for his baton that lays just behind him.
"Oh My Love. I'm not going anywhere. I promise. I will always be here for you." He looks down at her as she slowly lifts her head up to look at him.
She didn't know if her face Is hot from the crying or from how heart feels like it's going to explode with… love? Yes, love. It's so silly to fight it anymore. She could have lost him today, and he'd have never know.
Biting her lower lip, she slowly lifts herself up onto her tip toes. Pausing just before his lips. "Kiss me… My… Love." She breathes onto his waiting lips.
"As My Love commands…" He breathes back, before pressing his lips onto hers. Pulling her as close as he can. Holding her up, so she can reach his lips easier.
Slowly, she wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him down to her. After all, why should she do all the work.
The kiss doesn't last as long as they'd like, but alas, one has to breathe eventually.
"I told you, you were in love with me." Kitty whispers against her lips, smiling as her giggle.
"Know-it-all." She whispers, before kissing him again.
Chuckling, he pulls her back in, kissing her with as much passion as he feels for her. Lifting her up, he spins them both around in a circle. Before wrapping his feet up in his tail. Causing the two to topple to the ground, laughing.
"Kitty, and I thought I was the klutz!" She laughs as she snuggles into his arms, burying her face in his chest.
"Yes, well, I love you so much. I have become you." He chuckles as he buries his face in her hair.
"I love you Kitty. I love you so much it hurts." She giggles, even if her heart felt like exploding.
"I love you too, My Lady."
The two snuggled on the roof well into the morning, not caring one bit.
