Jigen Daisuke stood over the grass while the wind ruffled his hair and gently fluttered his clothes. He had been there, during the funeral, hidden in the crowd. He patiently awaited until everyone left, so he could start His own offering in the memory of that remarkable man. Jigen placed three oranges and a bowl with rice in front of the grave. Then, lighted some incense sticks and stabbed them on the rice. In silence, he prayed for some time. He wanted his friend to find the way to peace. Once the incense was consumed, jigen sighed and sat next to the grave, lighting a cigarette.
- It's been a while... Since the last time we met. More or less... A year, right? - said, exhaling the smoke of the puff. - I hope you'll excuse me... You had your offering, and now this is for me. I know we've not talked too much recently, so... I hope you don't mind I talk to you - he sighed and looked at the white clouds, floating in the blue sky. It was a sunny, warm, summer day. The place was peaceful and calm (of course, it was a graveyard). Jigen took another puff calmly. After all, they had all the time -. First of all... I wanted to tell you that i enjoyed and appreciated every single second we spent together. If only we could repeat it... - he smiled sadly - but we know is impossible. You've been a master to me. Is thanks to you I'm the man i am today. I wish i could tell you much more things... But you already know, every single one of them. I bet Lupin told you. That big mouthed monkey... - sighed, looking at the grave. His cigarette was alresdy consumed, so he opened a can of beer - Is impossible to have a damn secret when he's around -smiled taking a sip of the beer-. All the good moments, all the funny moments, adventures... You were there. As you were in the bad times. Always there. Not judging. Not saying a thing. Just living all the stuff with me. You know... I feel bad now you're gone. I guess... Time is not the same for everyone. - his voice trembled and his breath caught in a sob. Then, shook his head. No, he couldn't be weak. Not there. After a moment of silence, the gunman looked at the grave. His heart was beating strong. He coukd swear he was not alone anymore, so he didn't want to miss tge chance to speak clearly to his friend -. I promise not to forget. I swear I will live with your lessons daily. I will ensure your legacy is not lost, so you will never die - promised, leaving the can, half full, next to the bowl rice. -. Take this, don't be shy - finished, getting up, drying a tear -. Farewell, master. We will meet again, Kiyoshi Kobayashi. - promised before leaving.
Written in the memory of the voice actor of Daisuke Jigen, who made him live for 50 years. Mr. Kobayashi passed away yesterday due to a pneumonia at the age of 89 years. His voice won't be forgotten. Thank you for giving us such a man like Jigen, and many more characters. I thought it would be interesting, that one of the most iconic characters, could say his goodbye, and that's the idea that lead me to write it. I hope you like it.
