Chapter 3: The storm
A new day has started, and everything is lively at the camp, Tobe is playing with the corpse of the dead black dragon, Yuigahama readying her battle equipment with Sable running circles around his master, Kawasaki and her witches flying around the camp, Zaimokuza shouting nonsense and Hayama walking to the entrance of the tower with Yumiko chasing him.
"Hayato wait!" she yelled, Hayama then turned back to face her with an awkward smile in his face.
"Umm... Ah... Ehh... J-Just don't die OK?" Miura said bashfully with received a nod as an answer.
As Hayama were about to turn back he was grabbed by the hand by Miura, not looking at Hayama, Miura talked and said "I-I just want you to know that I liked you before but not anymore! It's just when we were still at the academy I just don't want to be overshadowed by Yukinoshita so I forced my self to you so I can remain in the top of the popular students! I forced my self to like you and caused you trouble so I'm sorry about that!".
Hayama was genuinely shocked by this sight, Miura being bashful and stuttering is a rare sight,"Uhh it's ok Yumiko..." I mean I used you as a girl repellent so... Hayama walked closer to Miura then gave her a friendly hug and a pat at the back.
"Are you two gonna get married?" someone suddenly talked which caused Hayama to end the hug only to see Zaimokuza with a bag full of blue and green potions.
"Why are you here Zaimokuza-kun?"
"I'm just here to ask you to give this mana and regeneration potion to my comrade Hikigaya and lady Yukinoshita, also I'll forget that I saw you two hugging and-... What is this?" Black liquids came raining down from the sky, interrupting Zaimokuza from talking.
The whole camp became confused, they don't know what is happening, Yuigahama started to observe the abnormal rain, she noticed that when the black rain disappears when hitting the ground or humans, then she noticed a dead insect in the ground, when the black rain landed on to the carcass of the dead insect it started coating it! When the dead insect was fully covered with black liquid it started flying again!
Shocked by this, Yuigahama looked at the dead black dragon in the middle of their camp, it's almost covered with the black rain.
Yuigahama then whistled causing Sable to run towards her, she get atop of Sable and ran towards her troops and yelled "This black rain reanimates the dead! The black dragon will be returning anytime soon!"
Hayama heared Yuigahama then looked at Zaimokuza and returned the bag of potions to him "Give this potions to them yourself I have a dragon to take down" he said to Zaimokuza.
At the top of the tower minutes earlier-
Yukinoshita on her knees in the ground her right hand holding her left, there are some nasty burns of her left hand and she is healing it with magic, Hikigaya on the other hand only had minor wounds and burns and is standing in front of Yukinoshita using magic to deflect the crimson fire balls coming out of the Overseer's right hand.
The Overseer stopped attacking for a second only to charge up and created a big crimson fire ball almost the size of him then threw it at Hikigaya.
The book chained in Hikigaya's neck opened to a blank page, the black page then sucked up the big fire ball, the blank page were no longer blank and now has the details on how the Overseer did the spell.
Hikigaya then extended his left hand, the black gauntlet in his left hand started to glow green, then the same big ball of fire appeared in front of Hikigaya's hand, it was the same spell the Overseer used, the only difference is its green.
Hikigaya's spell steal happened too fast for the Overseer to react causing the big green fire ball to land into the Overseer.
Hikigaya repeatedly used his newly stolen spell and the Overseer didn't like it so to distract Hikigaya, the Overseer opened a small portal near Yukinoshita to suck her up.
This put a smirk on Hikigaya's face and said "Finally! I can't steal the larger ones but I can steal that portal!" the Overseer is shocked by this, he tried to close the small portal but its already too late because it's already has been sucked to Hikigaya's black book.
Hikigaya then formed a small portal with his black gauntlet then threw it at the Overseer, the Overseer is shocked by how Hikigaya used his portal but knows how to counter it.
The Overseer created a larger portal to eat Hikigaya's portal, but before the portal completely manifested, multiple crystal shards bursted out of the ground and skewered the Overseer's body interrupting the creation of the portal.
Yukinoshita then snapped her finger causing the crystals that skewed the Overseer to glow blue light then released a stream of magic. This severely damaged the Overseer.
The portal landed on the Overseer's waist, Hikigaya closed the portal and the Overseer's lower body is gone.
Yukinoshita commanded her magical orbs to fire multiple beams on the Overseer while Hikigaya ran towards the Overseer with a green energy blade formed in his black gauntlet.
The Overseer created a magic barrier to deflect Yukinoshita's magic beams but the barrier is not strong enough to block Hikigaya's energy blade.
The Overseer's barrier shattered, and for the first time Hikigaya used his right hand in battle and said with a rotten smile "I wasn't call the black hand because of the gauntlet in my left hand." after saying this, Hikagaya buried his right hand on to the Overseer's chest, Hikigaya's right hand turned jet black and the Overseer's face became desperate.
Hikigaya's smirk turned into a serious then said "Zabaniya..." coldly, he then tried to pull out his right hand but the Overseer's soul is refusing to come out.
Out of desperation and pain, the Overseer yelled in pain, a black stream came out of his mouth shooting up to the sky then exploded, after the explosion a black rain started to pour from the sky.
Hikigaya then headbutted the Overseer so hard then shouted in his face "What did you just do!?" only to receive a smirk as an answer.
"Hikigaya-kun look" Yukinoshita yelled looking down at the battlefield from the edge of the top floor, the sight she is seeing is horrible, the camp of her allies were being burned by a black dragon.
Hikigaya saw the despair in Yukinoshita's face, he wanted to comfort her, his grip on the Overseer's soul loosened causing the Overseer's mana to flow again.
The Overseer laughed maniacally then opened a tremendous amount of portals. Hikigaya tightened his grip again causing the Overseer to cry in pain, he then yelled at Yukinoshita saying "Go down there! They need your help! I can handle the Overseer!"
"I won't leave you here Hikigaya-kun!"
"You will!"
Hikigaya glared at Yukinoshita, his rotten eyes emitting faint green light, Yukinoshita's body became paralyzed, then the faint light from Hikigaya's eyes glow more, Hikigaya controlled Yukinoshita's body to jump from the tower.
Hikigaya's body control faded as Yukinoshita falls, then Yukinoshita used flying magic to break her fall to land safely.
After landing Yukinoshita saw the black dragon rampaging around the camp, the dragon is tail swiping the tents, burning the towers, smashing the wooden fences and burning anything that is human while Hayama is chasing it.
Yukinoshita immediately casted fly again towards the dragon and yelled "Crystal Prison!", then a huge number of crystal shards came out of the ground encircling the dragon, a crystal dome with the dragon inside is created.
The black dragon inside the dome started breathing fire but the crystal is too strong to be melted, the dome's shape also didn't help the dragon because in only sent back the flames to the dragon.
Hayama used this chance to cast a powerful spell, he stopped running in front of the crystal prison then slightly raised his golden sword in front of him, he tightened his grip and the blue runes in the swords blade wildly emitted blue light that covered the the blade.
Hayama then took a step forward, raised his sword above his head and said "I didn't use this against the Overseer because he had too much evasive and defensive spell and the tower is too cramped, but now... It's a different story..." suddenly a pillar of blue light formed in his blade and he executed a vertical slice, as he was doing this he yelled "Blade of Arcadia!"
Hayama's attack cutted the crystal prison in half and the dragon inside it. Gasping for air Hayama looked satisfied with his work Heh.. Not bad Me... So there are things that I can do without the backing of my father... His inferiority complex towards Hikigaya is now completely gone...
