Chapter 1, Godwin's Greatest Fear
It's the dead of night and while Godwin's brother is safe and sound at Hogwarts, The Dark Mark is high above the skies of Avalon with the black smoke from the burning village and apple tree woodland below.
The scars of battle have left their mark and One or two of dead death eaters lay alongside the isle defenders all along the village and within the apple tree woodland. A handful of death eaters had pushed the villages that still lived into the village square where they wept and grieved for their dead, while pleading for their lives to be spared. Moving up out of the village and towards the battered and beaten castle more signs of battle left there mark, the walls of the castle was blown apart, suits of Armor battered, bent and torn apart lay within the courtyard and alongside a handful of dead wizards and house elves, alongside a handful of death eaters
But the reapers' work had been done within the great hall, Godwin's father lay dead and he was not alone. Littering the great hall was his family, friends, and more house elves alongside the dozens of death eaters they fought and killed. Blood had splattered over the walls and floors alongside body parts and blackened scorch marks; Everything was in ruin and nothing was spared.
Godwin's mother cripple from pain, dragged herself over to her husband's corpse and lay upon it, unable to stop the tears from flooding out of her eyes, while under the watchful gaze of the death eaters and the devilish witch, Bellatrix Lestrange, The island of Avalon had fallen
"Did you think you were safe here!" the witch cackled with delight, as a wicked grin crawled along her face. "Nothing can stand against the Dark Lord and nothing is out of his reach!" She bellowed.
Then the cries and shouts of a familiar voice caught the attention of Godwin's mother. Wincing in pain, she tighten her fist and tried to returned to her feet as a young Godwin was dragged into the castle kicking and scream in terror. But she was returned to the floor screaming with a flick of Bellatrixs wand.
"Leave her alone!" almost forgetting all fear as he heard the pain ridden cries of his dear mother, then when he began to notice and recognize the bodies that had littered the great hall all courage vanished. He couldn't cry or scream, he could do nothin but stare in horror at the sight before him. Bellatrix turned her gaze towards him and aimed her wand, and screaming in pain, he felt like his body was being torn apart bone by bone.
"Silence boy!" she screamed at him, she walked up to him and smiled with delight to hear Godwin whimpering, she picked him up and stared him right in the eyes before dragging him to his feet. Godwin's mother hearing her son's cries of pain, managed to get to one knee and look upon Bellatrix.
"Please no, I do anything…. You want me to join Voldemort, I'll do it, just don't hurt my boy!" she screamed with the last of her strength.
"Like we would want anything as pathetic as you, however I'll be merciful, you are an old and noble line of pure blood wizards. But let this be a lesson to you and all who lived here, never to rise against him again!"
"I swear, we have learned our lesson, just let him go!" Godwin had gone deathly pale and has his eyes closed shut.
Bellatrix however throws him to the floor and despite her body aching with pain, Godwin's mother stumbles over to him and pulls him into a loving embrace, the pair of them breaking down into tears.
—six years later
Godwin and his mother once more returned to platform nine and three quarters but before getting onto the train they found themselves approached by the weasley family.
"Hello dear, it's good to see you again, I've been meaning to catch you both"
"Oh, I hope my son hasn't troubled you in any way?" his mother asked.
"No but, well from what I got out of my boys Charlie and Bill they have been getting up to some dangerous business and well I love how much of a good friend he is to my boys, I would just want them to look after themselves,"
"Oh my, I am so sorry, I know what you mean my boy is dead set on finding his brother. I have had the same conversation with him a hundreds times." said Godwin mom and she cast an irritated gaze upon him.
"Mum they wanted to help!" Godwin protested
"Oh your very kind, and please called me molly" said miss weasley
"My name is Jessy," Godwin's mother said with a smile as she shook her hand.
"I love hearing about your adventure, Godwin, you never board I dare say" " Mister weasley said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, we would love to have a go with that sword" said a pair of twins by Molly's side, Molly whacked her husband in the arm and glared down at the twins. "You two are bad enough without wands let alone a magical sword!" she scolded.
"Of course you should take care of yourself and not take any unnecessary risk," Mister weasley said "Well anyway, why don't we introduce the rest of the family." he added.
"Oh of course, you not had a chance to meet the rest of the kids have you, this is my boy Percy, the twins Fred and George, this is my Ronny, and my precious little girl Ginny of course" she said touching each one as she went through them one by one.
"You never told me he was a Slytherin," said Ron with a tone of distaste in his voice, and got a light clap around the ear by his mother in return.
"Shush Ronald, there is nothing wrong with being Slytherin, sorry dear"
"It's fine," Godwin said, ignoring the comment.
"Hey Godwin, notice anything different about me? '' Bill said changing topic, upon hearing this, the twins rolled their eyes and shook their heads.
"Oh lord not this again" the twins said in unison.
"Here been going on about this for most of the summer" said Charlie as Godwin noticed the prefect badge on bill's top.
"Oh I'm so proud of my boy, his a great role model for his sibling '' Molly gushed, beaming with pride.
"That be me one day" said Percy as he huffed and folded his arms.
"Of course it will '' said Mister weasley as he rubbed his head.
"Congrats Bill they picked the right man in you" Godwin said
"Do you plan on becoming a prefect one day?" Bill asked.
"Sounds nice enough but I doubt they pick me," Godwin chuckled.
Not with that attitude they won't, if you spent less time breaking rules and more time studying you would have more of a chances" his mom scolded/
"Mum we are not having this conversation now" he said with a spark of irritation in his voice.
"We should get going, the train will be moving soon" Charlie said trying to save the situation, Godwin flashed him a smile and nodded.
"Yeah time to go, see you mum"
"Mister, you're forgetting something" she said pointing to her cheek, he rolled his eyes and kissed her cheek, then they boarded the Hogwarts express together.
"You got your permission slip for Hogsmeads?" Charlie asked as they went in, Godwin smiled and pulled a slip from his pocket. When they found and sat together in their compartment, another student entered the room.
"Hey guys, do you mind if I join?" It was a black Ravenclaw named Andre, he was handsome with short black hair.
"Sure, make yourself at home" Charlie said, gesturing for him to sit down.
"Nice to see you all," Andre said as he sat down.
"Looking forward to the quidditch season, looking to regain the title for ravenclaw?, '' Charlie asked with a laugh.
"Man you were on fire last season no doubt, but this year our team coming back better than ever, and Rath on the warpath after just missing out on the cup last year"
"I think your both forgetting the best team in Hogwarts who has the daughter of a pro player in its team"
"Oh Skye got the lineage for sure and she can score with the best of them, but if she was all you needed you would have won the last two years, you're missing somethink my dude" Andire said.
"Yeah she seems to be the one of few Slytherin players who score the most, it seems that they rely on her too much, I do love the way you are in defence though Godwin, your human shield" the trio chuckled.
"Sorry bills were leaving you behind abit" Charlie said as he turned to the bill who was sitting there in silence.
"Oh it's fine, hope you all do your team proud this year." bill said
"Oh yeah by the way, I've been wanting to ask Godwin, getting rid of the curse of the ice last year, but I meant to ask, how did you do it?" Andire asked.
"Yeah even the bloody daily prophet knows somehow, I swear one of these days I'm hex that woman. Truth be told it was a team effort, I just wanted to keep the others out of the firing line of the teachers"
"Oh really, so the teacher never found out about the others"
"Well they likely know about one or two, I doubt they know about all of them"
"With someone who's often in the papers like you are, you must have the girls all over you"
"Actually no and I don't think the press I get is too impressive"
"You heard what they say, any press is good press"
"What about you two? Andire said, turning to Bill and Charlie.
"I've never really thought about It," Charlie said.
"I bet he would date a dragon if he could," Bill chuckled .
"Hey!" Charlie said, throwing a nearby book at him, which Bill dodged.
"No, but Personally I would love to date one of them French girls from Beauxbatons school of magic, they are beautiful" bill said with a bright smile.
"Bill, you got wicked taste my man," Godwin laughed.
"Yes I'm sure a looker like you could attract one in no time, tell you what Godwin, um yeah, you're about my size… my brother brought me a coat for my new year at Hogwarts and to be honest it is not my style, and I think it'll bring the best out of you" Andre said.
"Oh, go on then, how much?" he asked.
"Completely for free, were all friend after all"
"Well alright then, let's see it" he then proceeded to pull out a leather jacket from his bag and godwin took it.
"Alright, let's see you wear it" said Bill, Godwin took off his robe and put on a jacket, his friends let loose a series of comical hoots and whistles. Later on that day they went to Hogwarts in a carriage together and after the first years had been sorted Dumbledore readied to make his speech once again.
"Well everyone to another year at Hogwarts, I'm afraid our defence against the dark art teacher had a tragic accident during the summer holiday, in her place will be our new defence against the dark art teacher. Professor. Justin Connel!" a graying middle aged man who smiled and stood up and waved at the students before returning to his seat. Dumbledore give the normal warnings and advice for the newbie students. When Godwin returned to the Slytherin common room he was greeted by a pretty witch he knew all too well.
"Welcome Le Fey, it is good to have our new celebrity back" she said with a sarcastic slow clapping.
"Oh please don't remind me," Godwin said as he shook his head.
"I assume despites what Dumbledore warned last year you're still going to hunt for the vaults again?" She asked
"Yeah, and I got a clue to work with," he said with a smug grin.
"Yeah big deal, I've got a few leads to work with myself, you're not going to beat me to the next vaults!"
"You know we could do alot better if we worked together, there is no other way I let you near the vaults!"
" I might be able to let you join me if you became one of my understudy like Barnaby and Ismelda"
"Na, I'm not some minion you can order about, we work as team or at not all"
"Whatever your not worthy enough to work with me anyway"
"Oh yeah I can see from Barnaby here, you only take the best and brightest" Godwin said with a smirk and a shake of his head.
"Uh, err, thanks" Barnaby said with a smile not picking on the sarcasm, Godwin chuckled and Merula rolled her eyes.
"Shut up Barnaby, well then good luck Le Fey your need it" In the next Morning Godwin went to the Slytherin table for breakfast when Tonks sat next to him.. "Hey mad boy, can you believe we are in third year already, we can go to Hogsmeade village. I can't wait!"
"Oh yeah me to, I've been thinking about that since I got into Hogsmeade station"
"What are you looking forward to, I can't wait to go zonko's joke shop"
"I could imagine," Godwin said with a chuckle, "I'm kinda looking forward to going to the three broomsticks," he said, which got a giggle from Tonks.
"Oh yeah that second on my list, we should drink together at some point"
"Sounds good to me"
"The only problem is I may have to stop metamorphosing and pulling pranks so much and so I can keep myself out of detention but it be worth it, the first thing I'm going to do is buy frog spawn soap and put it in the girl bathroom" she said with a mischievous smile.
"I can't wait to hear how that goes," Godwin chuckled.
"Looks like Slytherins with us Hufflepuffs in herbology first thing, wanna go together?"
"Sure, let's just wait for Penny to show up" the two said down together as they tucked into breakfast then switched over to the Hufflepuff table as Penny showed up.
"Hey wanna go to Hogsmeade together, Penny?" Tonks asked as they sat down.
"I would loved to go!" Penny gushed,
"You wanna come Chiara?" Godwin asked from across the Hufflepuff table.
"No I'm fine thank you Godwin," she said with a sweet smile as Penny and Tonks began talking about summer. After breakfast they went together to herbology along with Chiara who was just behind them.
"What do you plan on seeing in Hogsmeade, Chiara," Penny asked.
"Um, well, I kinda look forward going to Honeyduke" chiara said.
"You better get there before me. I'm going to buy out the whole store" Tonks said with a laugh.
The herbology classrooms was the many long glasshouse Houses Hogwarts has within its walls, when they got outside of today classroom, Godwin saw Merula was there with her two friend, Barnaby and Ismelda. They stood a fair distances away them, when the class was finally let in Godwin greet their teacher madam pomfrey with a smile.
"How was your summer miss?" he asked, she was one of his favourited teachers since first year. He wasn't a big fan of the lesson but unlike other teachers like Snape she was far more easy going.
"My summer was splendid, dear, I was able to conduct several experiments on composition of dragon dung fertilizer"
"What are we going to be learning today?"
"We're going to grow valerian, its root is used in many potions, now get to your stations, I begin class shortly.
"Hey Godwin, which of these plants do you think would be best to irritate a certain uptight birdlike librarian?" Tonks asked as he stood next to her, Godwin thought over Tonks question, there was a sudden scream of horror behind that was unmistakably pennys voice.
Godwin and Tonks withdraw his wand as he turned around, penny was on the floor backing away from a werewolf?, who was standing upon one of the tables full of potted plants
Godwin and Tonks without thinking twice, fired the flipendo spell and blew the werewolf through the glass walls of the greenhouse with an ear shattering smash, everyone screamed, Godwin helped Penny to her feet as she clings to him, Tonks keeps her wand aimed at the whole in the green house.
"Keep calm everyone! Werewolves are not known for their ability to hide in plant pots; it was a boggart. Now stay here, I'll go after the boggart and make a report to Dumbledore" on her way out Pomfrey repaired the damage to the greenhouse.
"That was terrifying, I hate werewolves' 'Penny whimpered as Godwin held her, then out of the corner of his eye he saw Chiara stormed out of the classroom and he went to go after her.
"Where are you going Le Fey, running off to be a hero again!" Merula said as he pushed past her on his way to the door.
"Chiara!" he called out as he got outside, she stopped and looked around to him, and let him catch up.
"What?," she said, wiping tears trickling down her cheeks.
"You know she wasn't talking about you, not all werewolf have the same sweet disposition"
"It doesn't matter, if she is that scared of werewolves all she has to do is take a look at me as a werewolf and she never talks to me again, just like.. I can't deal with that again"
"Chiara…" Godwin sighs, "go on, go and calm down but please calm down before you make any decisions, I'll talk later if you need to" Godwin returned to the class.
"What's wrong with Chiara?" Penny asked as he stood next to her.
"The big wherewolf freaked her out," he said with a weak smile.
"What do you think you would see if you faced a boggart Godwin?" asked Tonks, Godwin shuddered at the thought.
"Snape likely, he is worse than a boggart" he said with a laugh, when he got to the great hall later that day, after that lesson Godwin walked with Tonks and penny to the great hall, while Tonks was walking down the corridor as a half bird human hybrid screeching at people as they went past.
"Goodness gracious, Tonks, now thats is one beasts I've never laid my eyes on before" Hagrid said with a laugh, Tonks switched into human look with long white hair
"Hey Hagrid" the trio said in unison.
"There was a boggart in the greenhouse," Godwin said.
"yeah give me scared of my life when a werewolf pop out of a plant pot"
"Goodness me, you don't get many of them around Hogwarts, and I've never heard of one in the greenhouses before, oh that reminds me…. Your brother had an interesting theory involving boggarts. He seemed to think one of the vaults played on the fears and if someone tried to open it, a boggart would appear in Hogwarts…. Maybe I shouldn't of told you, it probably a lot nonsense anyway, never mind me got to get moving"
"What do you think of that penny?" Godwin said.
"Um, possible, it's a wild claim throught and Hagrid said it was only theory, but we should keep it mind"
"We chat about it over lunch, come on" Said Tonks,
