Into The Sunset
Chapter 7
Author's Note : Thank you for the support my readers. I'll keep what i have planned to myself. Stay tuned.
We're in too deep.
We've got miles to go before we can see.
Don't let go.
It's not too late.
The drive home from the fertility specialist was quiet. The couple still trying to process and take in what this meant and what it would look like going forward.
Once they had gotten home. Lucas parked in the driveway.
He turned and looked to her. "This isn't it for us. There are egg donors and sperm donors. We could find someone to carry the baby. Adoption."
"We can and will become parents." Lucas stated matter of fact.
Brooke took a deep breath. And looked back at him.
Everything he was saying was true. But right now she couldn't process this information.
Her heart felt heavy and broken.
"I know what you're trying to do. And i appreciate and love you for it. But we wanted a child created from us two. The love we share."
"This appointment just confirmed that can't happen. Even if i did get pregnant it wouldn't last."
"I wanted to give you a baby. For us to experience pregnancy and to watch you become a father."
"Before we got together. You had the chance to be with a woman that could give you the family you always wanted."
"But you broke up with her and choose me."
"Now look where we are. Don't tell me there is no part of you that doesn't regret it." Brooke proclaimed.
None of this mattered now. The dating history before they reconnected was ancient history.
The expression on Lucas's face softened.
"Brooke. You're the one for me. I couldn't be more in love with you." Lucas stated matter of fact.
"I need to go get changed. We have Larry Jagielski's first birthday to go too. We don't want to be late." Brooke replied.
Turning from Lucas as she got out of the car.
...
As Lucas changed into the new outfit he had bought to attend the party. He wondered if he should reach out to Jake and Peyton to cancel them coming at all.
Brooke was in a very raw/vunerable place. He feared being around Larry and other children might be too much for her.
