What a treacherous thing to believe that a person is more than a person."

After Xzavier Daniels was given life in prison for the murder of Quentin fields. His younger brother Jack Daniels was thrown back into the system.

And bounced around from home to home. Until Brooke and Lucas became foster parents and took him in. He was 14 then. He's 16 now.

Everything they had been told and warned about regarding Jack. Was able to be confronted and given healthy outlets in in therapy.

Jack Daniels had been adopted and become Jack Scott. He was thriving.

Brooke laid on her back. Based on her pregnancy tracker. The baby was the size of a lime.

Headaches. Stressing in every way about the pregnancy.

morning sickness. Fatigue. Brooke was experiencing it all.

She was supposed to start a pregnancy workout. Stay hydrated.

Which she was. But so far. It was keeping a journal that was the part she enjoyed the most.

She was living in leggings and oversized sweaters. It helped that it was fall so no one questioned anything.

"Good morning. How are my two favorite girls in the world.?" Lucas asked. Smiling happily. As he wrapped his arm around her.

"We're great. Hungry. How did you sleep.?" Brooke replied.

They were going to have a daughter. They had blood tests done at 7 weeks. The pregnancy itself enough of a surprise.

"I'll make you whatever you're craving. Just tell me." Lucas said.

"Oatmeal with brown sugar. But the boys are going to want cereal so i'll make a big bowl just for me." Brooke replied.

Lucas leaned over to kiss her lips. Then kissed her stomach.

Brooke smiled. As she pulled off the covers and got out of bed.

She was wearing a large Clotthes over bros pink sweater.

With grey leggings.

She tied her hair together in a messy bun.

Lucas left the bedroom first.

"Daddy. I want to go jump in the rain puddles."

"Jack said he would watch me." Alaska explained.

Lucas knew it was early and wondered if Alaska had woken up his brother just to make this request.

It was early. 5 or 6 in the morning.

But to Lucas's surprise. Jack had agreed. Coming out of his bedroom. Dressed for the rain.

"I've got some free time. I'll keep a close eye on him."

"You take care of mom." Jack proclaimed.

"I will. Thanks for entertaining him. 30 minutes. The two of you need to eat and get ready for school." Lucas stated matter of fact.

"Jack come on. We're missing it." Alaska proclaimed. Taking his brother's hand in his as they left the hallway.

...

Brooke could hear from the kitchen window. Alaska's laughter and pure joy.

As her and Lucas ate breakfast in the kitchen.

That was covered in black. White and grey.

With a sliding door that lead to the fenced in backyard.

"I don't want to pick out a name or decorate the spare room as a nursery. It's too soon." Brooke admitted.

"I hope she has you're dimples. Big heart. And colorful care free view of life. Doctors can be wrong Brooke."

"We don't know what's going to happen. Let's try and be positive."

"Sage. Sage Scott." Lucas proclaimed.

Brooke swallowed hard. And looked away.

"I'm going to work." She announced.
