Into The Sunset

Chapter 14

"I don't know why it's so easy for me to get naked one way and not another."

Alaska shook his head from side to side.

Brooke reached over and took out Alaska's baby book.

"How you came into this family doesn't matter."

"You coming into our world. Changed everything."

"You made us a family. That is the most important part." Brooke proclaimed.

"When two people decide to take the love they have for each other."
"Into something bigger then themselves."

"Sometimes they make a baby. Proof that at one point."

"They believed their love would never end." Lucas explained.

"So what happened to the person or people who brought you to me.?" Alaska asked.

Brooke glared at her husband.

Wrapping her arms around herself.

"We don't know. We never met them." Lucas replied.

"Alright. Enough of this. We're going to get pizza."

"You're baby sister wants brownies too. Why don't you go ask Jack what kind of pizza he wants.?" Brooke suggested with a smile.

"Okay momma. I want extra cheese on mine." Alaska replied. Before racing out of the living room.

Lucas sighed deeply. Looking to his wife.

"What was i supposed to do Brooke.? Lie to him.? He has questions."

"It's better to be honest with him." Lucas stated matter of fact.

"He's too young for all this information. It's confusing and not needed."

"You never needed Dan. And he doesn't need any information on the person or people who abandoned him."

"We need to leave this alone. Our family and what's being built here is all that mattters." Brooke stated matter of fact.

"We can't ignore the past. He was brought into our life by chance."

"He's only going to get older have more questions. He deserves the truth." Lucas replied.

"He has the truth. We're his parents. He has a brother and eventually he'll have a sister."

"Luke please." Brooke pleaded.

...

Knocking at the front door. Caused the couple to jump.

Lucas got up first and went towards the door.

Brooke followed behind him.

Lucas opened the door slowly.

Staring back at him. A face he recognized.

Brooke stared at the stranger.

"Taylor. What are you doing here.?" Lucas questioned. He had heard about her through Haley and saw the older James sister in pictures.

"I don't have the wrong address. I've been doing all i can to keep my distance from this house. For 5 years. I still remember that day so clearly. Especially leaving here."

"The baby boy you brought into you're house that day was mine." Taylor confessed.

Brooke felt her heart sink.

"You can leave now and don't step foot back anywhere near my family!" Brooke exclaimed. Slamming the door in Taylor's face.
